Dawn Swann trip to brighton later this summer is going to one to remember - as she receives a shock marriage proposal! Reports have reached us that smitten gary hobbs will sieze the day and declare his love to the single mum as they holiday on the south coast. The Question is Will Dawn return his affection and say yes, or leave broken gary broken-hearted.

Far to say this has been the most toughest of Dawn's life whispers our walford insiders.

Fans will see the pair get closer over the following weeks as Garry goes out to make Dawn's life easier. But will the materiallistic mum be willing to settle down with an ordinary bloke?

There's no doubt that garry's nothing like the men dawn usually goes for concedes out source, but she changed a lot thanks to her ordeal at the hands of Rob and May. Perhaps she will realise that the genuine Garry Has for her are worth the weight in gold.

EASTENDERS loser-in-love Garry Hobbs gets carried away when he whisks Dawn Swann off to Brighton – and PROPOSES, TV Biz can reveal.

Garry, played by Ricky Groves, has always fancied pretty Dawn (Kara Tointon).
And he seizes his chance as she’s feeling low after her evil ex Rob and his twisted wife May tried to snatch her baby daughter.
The love-struck mechanic takes Dawn and baby Summer away for a break.
And as Garry confesses his feelings to a stricken Dawn, he pops the question.
However, Dawn turns him down and a show insider said: “Garry is gutted.
“He really adores Dawn and while he’s never been lucky in love, he thinks that the timing is right. He mistakes Dawn’s friendship for something else.
"What he thinks is a romantic mini-break, Dawn thinks is two good friends going away together.”
Garry has been single since his wife Lynne fled Albert Square.
But the source added: “They do agree to stay friends. Dawn is too raw from what happened with Rob to consider any kind of romance.
“But who knows what will happen in the future.”
The scenes will be shown on the BBC1 soap next month.

Nah Dawn and Garry,, Garry is more like a BIG BROTHER,, to Dawn and an uncle to Summer,, so no I don't think they should be paired up,,I like Garry as he is ... the looser in love... Garry has always THOUGHT with his little head not his BIG head :lol:

couldn't agree more.. Dawn has made some stupid choices of men in the past, Gary is great to her and the baby and she would be lucky to have him but I dont' think she should be with him if she doesn't love him which she doesn't. It is one of those really life things where one person feels more than the other and although you know she should return it, she can't and poor Gary gets hurt in it all

Garry is another whose character has completely changed since he first came into EE. When he first arrived he was a very successful ladies' man. Now, of course, although he's still after the ladies, he is singularly unsuccessful.

I think Garry would be good for Dawn, but not the other way round. With Summer there, I think it reminds Garry of Vivi, and he doesn't seem to be interested in lots of women at a time, any more. Dawn though, from previous episodes, looks as if she will use him so she can flirt and shop all of the time.

hi tammy, i have to sy that i dont agree with you on this one as i think that the mitchell sisters would be too high maintainance for gary, then again so is dawn and i also think that they are mismatched, i think that gary would be best with someone with a fun attitude to life who takes each step in her stride and who is not so 'glamourous' as the above, someone who would share his humour if you no what i mean.

as for dawn, i think that she should stay single for the time being after all the trama shes been through recently, besides the men that dawn is usually interested in, people who are 'fly' and who have cash, probably wouldn't look twice at her if they she had a baby as young as she is. i think that in a years time or so thats when she should start looking for someone to have a bit of fun who will accept that she has a baby, before now i would have thought that dawn would have put money and mterial things before being a mum, but it turns out i was wrong
