Leanne tries to play down her staff problems to an anxious Roger and promises that she will pay him back as soon as possible. In desperation she goes to see Carla at Michelle's flat. Leanne tells her that the restaurant was her idea and that she would still be happy for Carla to invest. Leanne realises that Carla is not interested and goes to leave but Carla stops her and tells her she may be able to help her. Has Carla had a change of heart?
Vernon is getting all his documents sorted to work abroad when his mood is dampened by the appearance of Liz. She asks him to take her with him but he refuses and gets ready for Lloyd to take him to the airport. Before they leave Liz gives Lloyd a cassette to play to Vernon on the journey. Vernon is surprised to hear the tape is full of soul music and he begins to reminisce about his time with Liz. Lloyd admits to him that Liz gave him the tape so he could play it to him, will it be enough to give Vernon second thoughts on leaving?
Ashley and Josh surprise Claire with a visit. He tells her he cannot cope on his own but she reassures him that she will not be away for long.
Jason isn't pleased at seeing Eileen and Pat together.
23rd July
Claire decides to visit Casey but Yvonne tells her she should be with Ashley. She meets with a sympathetic Casey and tells her that she is missing her family. Later Ashley is struggling to look after Joshua and the Butchers and is relieved when Casey turns up to help. Over lunch she tells him she has been to see Claire and that she has not mentioned anything about coming home. Disappointed he takes further comfort in Casey but how will she use this to her advantage?
Leanne is furious when her agency chef is late. He informs her that he didn't go to catering college but learnt his trade on the front line. He panics when he sees there are no reinforcements to help. Paul, Tyrone and Molly are disappointed when they can not get anything they want on the menu.
Liz and Vernon are very awkward around each other but she reassures Betty that they are stronger than ever.
Sean pressurises Violet into taking a pregnancy test but she refuses telling him that she is not ready, making him feel guilty.
Ashley is embarassed to find himself embracing Casey but she reassures him everything will be ok. She looks after Joshua and explains to Sally that she is helping out while Claire is away. Ashley returns and invites Casey to stay for dinner. He is moved by the special effort she has made and thanks her for being such a good listener. But one thing leads to another and Ashley finds himself kissing Casey, how will she react?
Leanne is annoyed when Paul criticises her food and is surprised to hear that he is a chef. Roger is further concerned when he sees that the restaurant is quiet but she promises to Janice that he will get his a return on his investment.
Violet tells Sean that he has to be patient and jokes he should get himself fit in preparation for the baby. He takes this joke to the extreme and begins to annoy her with his new found health conciousness.
Sally tells Kevin that she is going to study english literature.
Jodie is annoyed when the Mortons get a complaint from the council over noise pollution and is sick of people telling them how to live their lives.
25th July
Ashley visits Claire and is surprised when Casey answers the door. He is worried that she has told Claire about the kiss but she tells him she has only come to tell her that Josh isn't well. Casey leaves and Claire and Ashley are very awkward with each other. He begs her to come home but she tells him there are still too many bad memories for her at the house but she will give it a try. He returns home to find Casey and he apologises for the kiss and tells her that Claire is coming home tomorrow. How will she react to his news?
Violet is concerned that Jamie may know what is going on when she tells him that she is not feeling well. She asks Sean to take him out but to reveal nothing of their plans. On her own she takes the pregnancy test and when she sees the result she begins to cry, will the test be positive?
Leanne is furious with the quality of her chefs. Paul enquires about the position but she asks him for all his references. She is impressed with what she sees but when asking him about his last job he explains he had to leave quickly. She is grateful for his honesty and the quality of his food; could he be just what she is looking for?
Blanche is disgusted someone has been smoking in the Rovers toilet and vows to monitor the situation but she hadn't bargained on Liz being the culprit.
Sally is pleased when her new text books arrive.
27th July
Sean sees Violet coming out of the medical centre and when she returns he is holding the pregnancy test packet. He is ecstatic when she tells him she is pregnant and they agree to go for an early scan because of her previous history. She tells him she doesn't want to get to excited as anything could still happen but she is delighted when she has had her ultrasound and could see the baby's heartbeat.
Back home, Sean opens the champagne but gives Violet a lemonade, she askes him not to say anything to anyone else until the twelve weeks scan.
Paul begins his first day at the restaurant and immediately tells Leanne that the previous owner was paying over the odds for produce but he will sort it. She reassures a concerned Roger that things are looking up and that he will be repaid soon.
Ashley is surprised when he opens the door to Casey who has given Claire a lift home. They both awkwardly hug while Casey leaves them be.
Sally is finding her studying difficult but John offers to give her some tutoring.
Jerry and Gail come up with a way to monitor the levels from the Mortons.
