(Read what is tucked away on the last paragraph)

EASTENDERS hardman Phil Mitchell gets a pasting – after picking a fight with a couple of Albert Square yobs.

Phil (Steve McFadden) is still a mess after Stella’s death, and flees the Queen Vic looking for trouble.

He meets a couple of toughs in the July 26 episode – but refuses to throw a punch, claiming he wants to be punished for letting Stella abuse Ben.

The stressed ex- drunk also ends up reaching for a bottle of Scotch.

Meanwhile, ’Enders bosses have cleared out all six of the show’s episode producers to streamline the making of the BBC1 soap.

Executive producer Diederick Santer will take over their duties.

It's about time EE had a shake up of producers, some of the writers should be given the boot as well. They have become too complaicent over the lst couple of years with being voted top soap.

Well getting rid of six episode producers should help the continuity. They need to get rid of most of the writers and replace them with someone who knows the real east end.
