PCs Sally Armstrong (Ali Bastian) and Reg Hollis (Jeff Stewart) arrive at the scene of a suspected assault and are horrified to find the dead body of Maria Samuels (Naomi Millbank-Smith). Crime Scene Examiner Lorna Hart (Siobhan Redmond), DS Stuart Turner (Doug Rao) and DC Jo Masters (Sally Rogers) examine the evidence and discover that Maria was a model.
They uncover her portfolio and find her pictures were taken by a photographer by the name of 'Slade'. Stuart and Jo soon track down Jeff Slade (Darren Day) who?s furious that someone has broken into his studio and smashed everything up. As the officers question him, Stuart notices a blood soaked t-shirt and Slade is arrested on suspicion for murder.
However, back at the crime scene, Jo notices a photograph of Maria and her fiancé Darrell Crow (Ricky Nixon) wearing the same t-shirt found at Slade's house. While both men admit they saw Maria on separate occasions that morning, they insist she was alive when they left. Later, when Lorna tells Jo that Maria?s skull had two abrasions, the detectives must work out which suspect provided the fatal blow?
Elsewhere, PCs Emma Keane (Melanie Gutteridge) and Beth Green (Louisa Lytton) ******WARNING KIDDIECOP ALERT******attend a burglary at a shop. While reviewing the CCTV footage, Emma recognises one of the girls as Lauren Martin (Mia Fernandez), who?s older sister Roxette (Alice Henley) matches the second girls? description. She has also just been released from a young offender?s institute.
When Beth******WARNING KIDDIECOP ALERT****** and Emma turn up at their house to make the arrests, Roxette denies any involvement and insists she?s turned over a new leaf. When interviewed, Lauren admits that she acted as a distracter while her friend Tanya Murphy (Laura Aikman) stole from the till ? Roxette had nothing to do with it. Lauren later confides to Beth ******WARNING KIDDIECOP ALERT****** that she made the anonymous call that got Roxette sent down two years ago. Tanya is the only person that knows her secret and blackmailed her into the robbery.
Later, Emma and Beth ******WARNING KIDDIECOP ALERT****** receive a call out to a disturbance at Lauren?s flat and discover that she?s been beaten up by Tanya. Lauren explains that she confessed all to Roxette, who then rushed to Tanya?s house. The officers race out and discover Roxette pinning Tanya to the ground, threatening to glass her with a broken bottle. Can Beth ******WARNING KIDDIECOP ALERT****** and Emma stop Tanya before her actions send her back to prison?

On his first day covering for Gina Gold (Roberta Taylor) as Acting Inspector, Sergeant Smithy (Alex Walkinshaw) assigns the troops to the funeral of murdered supermodel Cindy Statham (Nathalie Cox). While the officers attempt to keep control of the reporters at the church, DC Jo Masters (Sally Rogers) and DS Stuart Turner (Doug Rao) learn that the man who admitted murdering Cindy - Larry Franks (Rupert Holliday Evans) - has been taken to hospital, following a suicide attempt in prison. He asks to speak to Jo and tells her that he?s struggling to come to terms with Cindy?s death: he doesn?t understand how he could have killed her ? he loved her.
PCs Emma Keane (Melanie Gutteridge) and Beth Green (Louisa Lytton) ******WARNING KIDDIECOP ALERT****** make their way to the hospital, accompanying a reporter who injured himself trying to get a picture at the funeral. As they wait for him to be seen, they are shocked to learn that Larry Franks has managed to escape. Beth joins the frantic search and soon spies a trail of blood, leading her into a store room where she discovers a petrified Larry. The more Beth******WARNING KIDDIECOP ALERT****** tries to persuade Larry to hand himself in, the more agitated he gets until he lashes out and knocks Beth ******WARNING KIDDIECOP ALERT****** unconscious?:thumbsup:
Elsewhere, Smithy?s day goes from bad to worse when he?s informed about an armed robbery that?s taken place in a building society. Sergeant Nikki Wright (Gillian Taylforth) and her officers attend the robbery shout: their investigations prove that the assailants are ex-employees and have escaped with £20,000.
After tracing the suspects and breaking into their homes accompanied by CO19, Jed Kemp (Lee Long) and Baker Jones (Alex Noodle) are questioned about their involvement in the robbery. They continually plead their innocence but when a frustrated Smithy empties Bakers pockets discovering two tickets for a flight to Miami going later that day, he is determined to find out why a seemingly timid Baker would commit an armed robbery and flee the country?
