Following Rains post and also since we have less than 2 weeks until the book is published what is everyones theorys about what will happen in the last book?
I have totally different theories than the ones i posted. Those just seemed to be the best and most realistic ones i've come across so far.....i have about 4 A4 pages of theories that i've been jotting down since book 1.....sad aint I?...lol
i read one yesterday where harry died its carries on with people moarning him and even having a funeral when the very last paragraph you realise that hermione has created a horcux and harry is still alive
i know its a pretty common one being rumoured, but i believe that Harry is the final horcrux, he has to die for Voldermort to die, then Neville is the one to actually kill Voldermort.
It seems weird that anyone but Harry would end up killing Voldermort, would seem a bit anti-climatic, but I reckon that's what will happen. Who knows? We shall see in two weeks :D

Harry is going to die, whether he has to sacrifice himself to ensure that Voldermort dies or maybe he dies by being killed by Voldermort, either way he's a gonner. Possibly Hardig or Snape will become victims as well. But Harry will live on in the afterlife and be reunited with his parents.

in all the books theres always been the link between harry and nevile due to voldemort killing bot their parents, and nevile has always had a kinda special air about him in my opinion, i recon hes likely to have a big part in teh defeat of voldemort, which will obviously have to happen for good to defeat evil.
I also hope dumbledore didnt die, and that he set some kind of spell before hand, I dont know if its true or if its wishful thinkning.

Dumbledore is dead, once somebody dies there is no way of bringing them back, even in the magical world. I'm not too bothered really, he wasn't one of my favorite characters.
Sirius was one of the best and I really wish he wasn't dead :crying:

yeah jk has confirmed that dumbledore cant come back from the dead - i wouldnt like him to come back though i think that will ruin the books if she start brining people back from the dead. He will surly be in the pictures the office though so thats good enough for me.

I thought Voldemort only tortured Neville's parents under the cruciantis, which was why Neville was uncomfortable when Moody performed it in a classroom; and that they were in a mental home where they were visited.
The link between them is that it would have taken a boy born in a certain week of July to stop Voldemort, as said by the prophecy. Harry and Neville were both born in that week, meaning it could have been either of them.

It was Bellatrix Lestrange who tortured Neville's parents into insanity.
Harry and Neville were born on the same day of the same year, therefore it could have been either of them. However, Snape overheard Dumbledore and Trelawny when she was having an interview. Trelawny made a prophecy (the one that is in the Hall of Prophecies), but Snape only heard half of it, the bit about Harry. Snape runs to Voldy and tells him that its the Potter's boy who the prophecy is about so Voldy goes after Lily and James. Which is why (I think) the Potters' went into hiding.
Snape, then realising his mistake, goes back to Dumbledore and begs for forgiveness (even though he and James hated each other) so Dumbledore forgives him. Snape has since been passing information from the Death Eaters to the Order, although it seems now that he's a double agent.
Oh yeah, and wasn't she one of the death eaters? I've forgotten a lot of that part. I remember Snape hearing half of the prophecy now, but I could have sworn Harry was the chosen one because Voldemort thought he was the biggest threat.
I've just spent 9 hours reading the fan fiction story that was posted on the internet a few months ago. It's 659 pages long, and boy does some of it make sense. It has some theories in it that even i didn't think of (and i've disected harry potter to pieces). There are definate inconsistencies(sp) in the story and the characters but for someone to take the time to do this was amazing and it's defintely worth the read, personally i can't wait to compare it with the real one just out of curiosity. Maybe i'll write my own fanfiction......Harry Potter and the baboons bum :D

This weekend my mobile is turned off, computer never goes on, and no papers are allowed!!! i want to read it and find out for myself
Is there going to be a spoiler thread? Like, for each chapter or whatever put our thoughts in spoiler tags so if somebody else has reached that point we can discuss it. Although I think I might be too busy reading to come online. My three year old neice is coming to stay on Saturday as well :eek: Its going to take me ages to read it with her around
There will be a discussion thread, for when people have finished the book. Then you can go and chat about it, without bothering with spoiler tags, because everyone will know what has happened in the book. Thats whats happened with the last book, at least.

Don't worry Lee - Bry's post was a pure speculation post from some woman on Richard and Judy, not spoiler so you are safe, if that makes sense. It was her own view that thats the way it would turn out like.

i was getting worked up cause some us newspaper had realised a review yesterday and when i read your post i thought richard and judy had said this because of that review and then thought it had been ruined for me. Sorry got mixed up.
What if Harry and Voldy both die? Maybe Harry kills Voldy first then the Death Eaters kill Harry when they realise what he has vanquished the Dark Lord.
Having finished HBP last night I am now convinced that Snape is a Death Eater and has been passing secrets from the Order to Voldy. Snape deserves to die.
I had a dream last night that I got the book wrapped in a plastic bag. I read the publising page and the dedications bit but I closed the book before I got to the first chapter. I wish I hadn't pre-ordered from Amazon and just gone to Tesco at midnight instead. 12 hours to go :D

remember there was all that stuff about the significance of harry's mums eyes?
I have several theories, all of which will probably be wrong.
1. As I said above, Harry kills Voldy then the Death Eaters avenge Harry.
2. Harry kills Voldy and Snape.
3. Sirius comes back to life (I really hope this is true, he's my favourite). We do find out what became of his motorbike from when he arrived at Lily and James' on the night of their murder.
4. Hermione gets really angry and either she or Voldy die trying to do battle with each other.
People to die:
*Voldy
*Hermione
*Snape
*Malfoy
I really don't want Harry to die, I'll cry so much if he does.
My mum won't go out at midnight to get it :( I think Harry will die after losing everyone that he cares about, as he's lost them bit by bit up until now, and either Harry or Voldemort has to die, so it must be him as why else would Rowling say there would never be another?
I think i might have read the first paragraph of it, lmao. I was at my mates house, and we were chatting about the people who have been queueing since yesterday to get it. So he decided to look on the net, and see if he could get it. And he did, it seems!! It was the whole book, in a PDF file. I read the beginning, and it seemed quite genuine. And he read the end (Under the threat of getting slapped if he told me what happened!) and he said its a really good ending. It was put on the net by one of those people who got sent a copy by that American Website.
The one thing i'll say about it is that (If this really is it)..

The bookies have 8/11 odds on that Harry will kill himself to save everybody else but I don't understand how that will work. Harry is the only person who can kill Voldy and obviously he wants revenge for him killing his parents. :hmm:

Nah, its something really minor about the first chapter, that you'll find out by just skimming the first page. I didn't read much of it at all. Its not really a spoiler at all. You can probably predict it or just guess it anyway, lol.

Thanks for all that JB its nice to know what will be in it, i'm glad lots of lose ends will be tied up :) The whole Petunia thing, she got a howler in book 4 did Harry/us ever find out why she got it and what it meant (i forgot) or is that maybe what we find out about Petunia.
They just said on 8 out of 10 cats wouldn't it be funny if in the end Harry died but because of an peanut allegy :rotfl:

Ok, about Petunia.
That was in Phoenix I think when Harry conjured the Patronus in the alleyway between Privet Drive and Wisteria Walk. Vernon got mad because Harry did magic in front of Dudley, even though it saved their lives (or souls), and Vernon kicked him out. Basically, when Dumbledore left Harry on the Dursley's doorstep he left Petunia a letter detailing the magic that he had put in place to protect Harry until his 17th birthday. As long as Harry returns to Privet Drive once a year then he will be protected from Voldemort. If the Dursley's evict him then the magic will be broken and he will be at liberty to the Dark Lord. "Remember my last" was what Dumbledore said in the howler, meaning the letter he left her. It's imperative that whilst Harry has a place he can call 'home' he will be protected until he comes of age. Dumbledore went to great lengths to protect Harry and would be furious for it all to be scuppered by the boy's aunt.

I think it's good that they can give out so many snippets, but we're still dying to know what happens, because it doesn't give away much as there's so much to a Harry Potter book, especially the last one.
