View Full Version : Donate
Just like to remind everyone about the donate (http://www.soapboards.co.uk/forums/index.php?do=donate) link on the navigation bar. Don't be shy about clicking on it and donating!!!
We've done a major upgrade of the board and everyone should have noticed a huge speed in the boards. Unfortunately this costs money  and we'll be grateful for any donations received.
So I'll be bumping this thread at the end of every month just as a hint to people to donate (http://www.soapboards.co.uk/forums/index.php?do=donate)!
Bump - summers finally here so reach into those pockets ...
Since the season of goodwill is here donations are gratefully accepted

I'm looking for a new job at the moment, but as soon as I find something and get paid i'll definitely be donating something. I use this site a lot so it deserves something from me! :)
Anyone got some loose change spare?
I had some money floating around in my paypal account from eBay so I've sent you something :)
How much does it cost roughly to host this site each year (if you don't mind me being nosey)?

It's €66.38/month which is £57.26/month according to xe.com
So for the year ~£680
We had the site on 3rd party hosted servers for £35/month but we started to exceed capacity and they quoted £80 + vat/month to host on a dedicated server. I thought screw that, it ain't rocket science so we have our own dedicated root server
Edit: Thanks for the donation
With over 10,000 members, that could be raised by donations alone, surely? So come on people, we all love this forum, let's keep it going please :cheer:
There's not an awful lot of regular posters compared to the registered members though.
I'll donate more when I get my loan in September (at least it won't be spent on yet more wine).
Didnt realise it was that much
Sent some just now will send more on pay day x
Thanks to all those that have donated so far
Managed to donate something today :)

Ta. I know some of you are poor students!
Just a reminder to put SB on your xmas present list by donating (http://www.soapboards.co.uk/forums/index.php?do=donate).
SBs will get something in their paypal stocking once I have finished this assignment :)
Have today donated a large bag of dog food and several boxes of cat food to the local pet home and a little something to SoapBoards :)
