It's a sombre mood as CID descend on Hollyoaks village to investigate Clare's attempted murder and Warren, Calvin, Louise, Max and O.B. are all taken into custody.

Calvin's questioned by D.S. Grant and without an alibi he's in the frame putting his career in jeopardy.

A calm and collected Warren is scrutinised in the interview room, but he refuses to name Mercedes as his alibi making him a suspect.

Louise is taken to be interviewed but refuses to answer questions until her solicitor arrives. Is she hiding something?

O.B. is forced to admit he rowed with Clare on the night of the incident, but vehemently denies he hurt her. When D.S. Grant starts to speculate about Max's involvement in the attack, O.B. defends his mate but is forced to agree that neither of them can prove their innocence.

Max is interviewed and confesses he did confront Clare about Tom being taken into care and as the detective fires questions thick and fast, Max admits Clare got what she deserved and he hopes she dies.

And, in hospital, a motionless Clare lies connected to heart monitor while observed by Louise who acts suspiciously when the police guard returns. With so many enemies the police are left to wonder - which one pushed Clare?

Meanwhile, at the McQueens', it's the morning after the night before as Tina's nurses a killer hangover. Mercedes can't believe the news about Clare, while Jacqui is stunned that Louise is in the frame. Jacqui quizzes Mercedes about why she left early the night before and Mercedes is forced to admit she cheated on Russ with Warren, berating herself for being so stupid and self destructive and getting no sympathy from Tina. As Mercedes heads off to visit Russ at his mum and dad's, the sisters look at phone footage of Tina's hen night - only to see a recognisable figure running from The Loft after Clare fell. As the girls struggle to believe their eyes, Jacqui knows who to ask for advice.

Elsewhere, Katy sits by a comatose Justin's bed in vigil, willing his recovery. Unaware of Clare's attack, Katy's confused when she sees Clare being pushed down the hospital corridor. As Katy pleas with Justin not to die - Jake watches on. A curious Katy wonders why, of all the people that would visit Justin, it's Becca's husband. As Jake admits he wanted satisfaction that Justin was suffering, Katy's uneasy as she suspects Jake might have been the one to run him down. As Justin comes to, an overjoyed Katy vows that she'll look after him.

And admits to his father how similar he is to him. Rhys asks that Noel slow down on the drink seeing as his days are numbered and he'd like to get to know him better. Noel has a win on the fruit machine and decides to take Rhys for a night on the town. As Noel begins the night by relieving himself in the River Dee, an embarrassed Rhys is left agog by his father's yobbish behaviour.
