aww this episode sounds good!

Glad we get to find out more about Connie, because apart from when an old school bully came into the department, she's a closed book!

I agree, Ric is soo stupid! He might think or know she killed herself deliberately, but he should'nt say it at a funeral! He's probably going to be drunk when he says it as well

Bit more: :) It's the day of Diane's funeral and Diane's mother Carol gives Ric a letter that she found in Diane's flat. Ric is disturbed to read that his engagement to Thandie made Diane focus on what's wrong with her life.
At the wake, Diane's parents become angry when they are approached by the train driver who killed Diane. When he reveals that Diane didn't try to escape from her car, Ric suspects that Diane wanted to kill herself.
When Ric makes his speech, he decides to say what he's really thinking: that Diane committed suicide and that he should have done more to support her. Furious at Ric's suggestion, Diane's father Oliver punches him.
Connie visits her estranged father in a London hospital and, unhappy with his ill-treatment, persuades him to come to Holby. Returning to her family home, Connie realises that her parents have always been proud of her.
Back at the hospital, Connie encounters Sam with Grace, and says that she's happy for Sam to spend more time with his daughter.

From holby.tv

Next week's episode of HOLBY CITY sees the funeral of popular surgeon Diane Lloyd and as colleagues come to terms with her recent untimely death, Ric - who had a close bond with her - is convinced her death wasn't just an accident.

'Just before the funeral, Diane's mother gives Ric a letter from Diane,' explains Hugh Quarshie who plays Ric. 'He's deeply disturbed by the contents, because she wrote that the news of Ric's engagement to Thandie made her focus on what's wrong with her life.

'This troubles him - after all, he was her boyfriend once and didn't give her support when she was in trouble three weeks ago.

Ric's suspicions are later raised again at Diane's wake when the driver of the train that killed her appears and tells his side of the story. 'When the train driver tells Ric that Diane didn't try to escape from the car and seemed to be preparing to die, he worries,' continues Hugh. 'Obviously the driver could just be justifying what happened, but there's still this awful niggling doubt.'

The mystery surrounding Diane's death has a profound effect on Ric and for his future relationship with Thandie. 'At the end of the wake his fiancee Thandie asks him to marry her sooner rather than later, and he says 'yes'. Despite his initial concerns, he now wants something good to come out of this terrible situation.'

Hugh concluded he was sad to see Patricia Potter, who played Diane, leave the show which also resulted in the conclusion of the on-off relationship between the medic couple. 'I was hoping they would leave scope for her character to come back'.
