PCs Diane Noble and Will Fletcher are called to a road traffic accident where they find the victim, Laura Matthews in a serious condition. PC Dan Casper and PC Beth Green *****WARNING KIDDIECOP ALERT*****arrive on the scene and they soon discover that Laura wasn’t wearing a seat belt and Diane admits she could smell alcohol on her breath.
Will and Beth*****WARNING KIDDIECOP ALERT***** check the boot of the car and after finding a man’s overnight bag the officers are even more intrigued when Crime Scene Examiner, Lorna Hart, discovers blood which doesn’t belong to Laura. Lorna soon confirms that there were definitely two people in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and a puzzled Diane questions Laura and her partner Mark (Marcello Walton) to try and determine what happened.
Elsewhere in St Hugh’s hospital, Tash Niles is distraught that her brother Rudy’s condition is rapidly deteriorating. However, after talking to boyfriend PC Lewis Hardy she agrees to give evidence against Ray Moore, much to Superintendent John Heaton’s relief. Despite this, Heaton is still concerned with the lack of evidence they have and informs his team that they need to find the murder weapon and the car Ray was driving the night Rudy was shot. Upset and frustrated that the case against Ray is moving slowly, Lewis decides to take action with shocking consequences...

Superintendent John Heaton stands over Ray Moore’s dead body, frustrated that he wasn’t given the chance to see him imprisoned. Crime Scene Examiner Lorna Hart explains to Heaton and DI Neil Manson that given the position of the body, there is the possibility that Ray may have been pushed from the top of a building. This makes sense to Heaton who is convinced that Ray would rather face prison than death and he is now determined to find out who killed Ray and why.
When a gun is found at the scene, Heaton is stunned to discover that PC Lewis Hardy’s fingerprints are all over it. Although panicked that the situation is spiralling out of control, Lewis heads to Sun Hill to make a statement – and to hand in his resignation.
Elsewhere, new recruit DC Grace Dasari is partnered up with DC Mickey Webb to investigate a case where a woman, Angie Royce, believes that she has seen her son Jamie, who has been missing for 11 years.
A vehicle check proves that the car Jamie was seen driving away in belongs to a Geoffrey Gant, who was arrested at the time Jamie first went missing. When Jamie is brought in for questioning, he insists that he has only known Gant for two years and rents a room off of him. Later, when Grace and Mickey visit Gant at his home, they discover disturbing evidence that proves he is more than just Jamie’s landlord.
