Getting Away with Murder.

It’s DS Phil Hunter’s last day in uniform and he’s determined to see some action on the streets rather than staying put in the station. As a result, Sergeant Smithy pairs him up with a reluctant PC Leela Kapoor. Whilst out on the beat, the two officers witness a mugging and Phil immediately jumps on a borrowed bicycle and races after the assailant.

During the chase, the mugger drops the bag and escapes, leaving Phil to discover £15,000 in cash in the bag. Phil questions the victim, Adam Labowski who claims that he was on his way to buy a new car. They let him go, but Phil is sceptical about Adams story.

Phil and Leela later visit Adam at work, where they witness a transaction taking place between him and a young woman, Gemma Collins When questioned, Adam finally confesses that they are being blackmailed. During a one night stand, they were interrupted by an unknown man, who took photos of them together and later demanded the money to keep Adam’s wife in the dark. Phil decides that the only way to catch the blackmailer is to organise an undercover sting operation. Leela, Phil and several other officers dressed in civvies observe Adam placing the bag with the money into a bin and tension mounts as everyone waits for the blackmailer to collect it. The tension is broken when Phil is told the sting has been rumbled…

Back at Sun Hill, Martin Turnbull speaks to Superintendent John Heaton and DC Terry Perkins about Ray Moore. He informs them that he has been receiving threatening phone calls from Ray and is concerned for his safety.

Desperate to keep Martin as a witness, to put Ray behind bars, Heaton assures Martin that everything is being done to keep him out of harm’s way. PCs Emma Keane and Reg Hollis later attend the scene of a road traffic accident where they find a woman, Tracey Roberts badly injured. Reg does a vehicle check and discovers that the car is registered to Martin Turnbull. Crime Scene Examiner, Lorna Hart tells DC Jo Masters that the car was run off the road and Tracey was dragged from the car and assaulted.

Terry and Heaton later question a shocked Martin, who reveals that Tracey is his sister. Just how far will Ray Moore go to stop Martin from testifying against him?

Another episode lost to the football. This is really starting to annoy me, there's little wonder ratings are dropping.

Anyway, this looks good. The Ray Moore stuff sounds interesting, I thought that storyline had ended.

I wonder how Phil and Stuart are going to get on :hmm:

6th June

DS Phil Hunter’s first day back in CID begins badly when he is splashed by a stolen car speeding through a puddle. After tracking the car down, DI Neil Manson pairs a reluctant DS Stuart Turner with Phil who meets PCs Lewis Hardy and Roger Valentine at the house the car is parked at. A girl called Lucy Burroughs answers the door and after attempting to escape, 15-year-old Todd Bailey is arrested by Lewis and Roger for stealing and joyriding a car.

Back at the station, Phil and Stuart interview Todd and his older brother, Connor demands to know whether the incident has anything to do with a man called Murray Taylor. Before Phil has a chance to press this issue, Stuart wraps the interview up giving Todd a caution.

Lewis and Roger are later called to an incident at Murray’s house where they discover Connor has assaulted him. Connor is immediately arrested and when he is informed that Todd was caught on CCTV car jacking. Connor confesses that he thinks Todd is planning to get hold of a gun for a robbery to impress Murray. Further investigation into Murray Taylor soon reveals a shocking connection between him and Todd proving that he has no intention of leading him astray…

Elsewhere, DI Sam Nixon and Neil are called to a shooting where they discover Sken gang member, Wesley Meeks being treated by the paramedics alongside a shocked Dominic Hardy. As he is rushed into hospital, Sam sees Wesley whisper something to nurse Tash Niles just before he dies – the name Ray Moore.

Back at Sun Hill, Heaton briefs the officers about the shooting and says he is determined to find out how Wesley and Ray are connected. Neil Manson and CO19 arrive at Ray’s club, where he is arrested on suspicion of murder and taken back to Sun Hill where Heaton fails to rile him. In CID, PCs Diane Noble and Emma Keane show Sam pictures of a red scorpion tag that has been sprayed onto all of Ray’s properties.

Lewis decides to investigate further and after talking to his cousin Dominic, discovers that the tag belonged to Wesley. It’s a clear link, but Heaton is left frustrated by the lack of a motive, when Ray claims that he has never met the victim.

PC Lewis Hardy is devastated to learn that his girlfriend, nurse Tash Niles, has been attacked in St Hugh’s car park. From her hospital bed, Tash tells DI Sam Nixon that she believes she may have been mugged, as her bag is missing - although Sam thinks it’s far too coincidental considering Tash is a prime witness against Ray Moore.

Back at Sun Hill, PC Roger Valentine tells Sam and DS Stuart Turner that he has CCTV footage showing Wayne Allsop, a witness he had earlier interviewed, going through Tash’s bag which he found discarded in the car park. Sam and Stuart go to Wayne’s home to arrest him and her horrified to find dozens of photographs of nurses as well as Tash’s identity card. It appears they have found their culprit, until a threatening note arrives at St Hugh’s threatening Tash to keep her mouth shut. The officers and the young nurse are convinced it’s been sent by Ray…

In an attempt to keep Lewis’s mind focused, Inspector Gina Gold teams him up with PC Diane Noble. The officers are called to elderly woman Winnie Robinson’s house where a young man called Dave Spencer is clutching her laptop. Before they have a chance to arrest him, Winnie claims to know Dave and stresses that he isn’t a burglar.

Much to Diane’s amusement, Winnie tells them she is a fan of 'Regflections', PC Reg Hollis’ pod cast. After further investigation, Diane and Lewis come to the conclusion that Dave has been robbing pensioners whilst dealing drugs in their homes. When Winnie realises that Lewis is heading to her shed in order to find a screwdriver to fix her broken door, she panics. What could she be hiding?

GOOD TO SEE NO MENTION OF KIDDIECOP:thumbsup:
