Fiz plucks up the courage to tell Kirk about her romance with dishy drama teacher John Stape. However, when she sends the gormless lad a text asking him to call on her, he gets the wrong end of the stick and arrives with a bunch of flowers and a bottle of sparkling wine. Liz is on tenterhooks when dirty Derek calls in at the Rovers and enjoys a drink with Vernon. The loved-up landlady manages to keep her cool until her fiancé suggests Derek might be looking for more than a good pint…
At the station Claire fears the police don't believe her story as they continue to question her about her history of post-natal depression. Thankfully they release her without charge, but with Ashley even doubting her story, she fears for her freedom.
And Paul is raging when he discovers Carla's plans to go into business with Leanne. The factory boss can barely conceal his anger and Carla accuses him of controlling her. Later Carla, Liam, Leanne and Paul enjoy a strained drink in the Rovers and tensions heighten when Leanne leaves to meet a ‘friend'.
Leanne commits herself to turning a lot of tricks when Carla asks her to come up with £20,000 in six weeks. Believing their new business venture is the start of something big, Leanne decides to make a brief return to escorting to rake in the cash.
Ashley gets a call from the police while Claire's out. Seizing the opportunity the cops pump him for information about Claire's mental health. As Ashley admits that Claire's battled with post-natal depression, she returns to home to find the police waiting to arrest her.
Elsewhere, Norris plays peacemaker between Rita and Doreen. After the flame-haired newsagent admits she's too stubborn to make the first move, Norris takes matters into his own hands.

Leanne and Carla are delighted as they sign the contract for the restaurant. To celebrate they arrange to meet later at a fancy bar for a drink. In the bar, Leanne disappears to the toilet while Carla is approached by a businessman named Frank Taylor. He chats her up and asks if she's with the same agency as Rachael. Not knowing who Rachael is, Taylor gives her his card and leaves her be.
When Leanne returns she is shocked to see Frank. Carla tells her he thought he knew Leanne but Carla told him he was mistaken since he'd said her name was Rachael. Does Carla suspect the truth behind Leanne's dark secret?
Meanwhile, Tam asks Violet out for a drink.
Kirk continues his job hunting and has no luck but he tells Fiz otherwise.

Carla tells Leanne she has set up a meeting for them with a financial advisor, then phones Frank Taylor and arranges a drink with him.
Later in the Rovers, Carla is sitting with Frank having a drink. Leanne is horrified when she walks in with Liam to see them both sat together, knowing she has been set up. Frank realises he's been had, too, and leaves. Liam is oblivious to what is going on while Leanne is a nervous wreck. Carla leaves too but insists on a catch up with Leanne. At Leanne's flat, Leanne desperately begs Carla not to tell Liam about her escorting because she loves him. Carla is furious but will she tell Liam?
Tired of constant speculation about the fire, Claire and Ashley decide to take the boys away for a while. Ashley worries about the trip as he still hasn't got anyone to cover the shop. Fiz suggests Kirk could work in the butcher's. Does Ashley fancy giving Kirk the opportunity?
