Kay Mellor's impassioned Sunday night drama, The Chase, returns for an extended second series with more sexy, stormy stories from the Yorkshire based veterinary practise.

The series kicks off just days after Anna (Gaynor Faye) has discovered her husband, Tom's (Nicholas Gleaves) infidelity with her cousin, Fiona (Heather Peace). While Anna comes to terms with her new single status, her sister, Sarah (Nicola Stephenson), is getting it together with childhood sweetheart, local farmer, Adrian Huby (Paul Opacic).

Joining The Chase are four new members of cast: Rebekah Manning (Rocketman) and Christian Louis Cooke (Where the Heart Is) - Claudie's (Michelle Holmes) siblings, Paula and Liam. Philip Jackson (Little Voice, Poirot) is Fiona's estranged father, Frank, who brings a myriad of buried family secrets. Meanwhile, Adam Croasdell (The Project) sets pulses pounding as sexy Sebastian Montgomery, brother of farmer William.

He's struggling to maintain an equilibrium, as he is paying maintenance to Fiona.

Claudie (played by Michelle Holmes) Claudie's the widow of George. She was genuinely in love with him but also conscious that he was sitting on a gold mine. She happily encouraged him to re-mortgage the house to fund their lengthy honeymoon stay in Malta.
Fashion conscious, sex-mad and used to getting her own way, Claudie's most distressed to share her home with George's family.

Fiona Jones (played by Heather Peace)
Fiona's a single mother to Theo, the result of a drunken one-night stand with Tom. Deep down she has her heart set on getting him for herself and Theo.
Brought up by a single mum, Fiona's like the third sister of the Williams clan and constantly feels like Cinderella. She was the one in the hand-me-down clothes, who trained to be a nurse not a vet, and who couldn't get the man.

George Williams (played by Keith Barron)
George was the father of Anna and Sarah and the head vet of The Chase. His first wife, Imogen, died. Recently, he married Claudie.
An old school vet, he really cared for the animals and believed in using his intuition and skills when treating them.
George was much respected in the local community for always being available to treat farm animals, even on Christmas Day. His principles meant that the practice was somewhat strapped for cash though.
