'Alpha Bravo'

Janae’s shattered when Boyd doesn’t automatically believe her in the aftermath of Glenn’s car accident. Though Boyd eventually believes Janae didn’t tamper with the car, Janae realises his statement carries little weight. She hits upon a calculated plan to win Boyd back: he’s got a two-week amnesty to be with whomever he wants and sort his feelings out – and after that he has to choose if he wants to save the marriage. But following a heart-to-heart with Karl – and realising that Janae doesn’t actually expect him to cheat – duplicitous Boyd seizes the opportunity to rekindle his affair with Glenn.

Determined to fix the mess she made with Pepper, Lolly comes clean to Susan about the incidents that led to Pepper’s dismissal. Just when she thought her troubles were over, Lolly and Lou are horrified to hear of Glenn’s serious car accident – Lolly tampered with the wrong car.

Though she means well, Pepper’s outrageous initial ploy to prove Rosie isn’t gay draws Rosie’s ire and leaves Frazer floundering. Subsequently taking a more subdued approach, Pepper finally coaxes out the truth: Rosie’s using the kiss as an excuse not to give Frazer another chance.

In the wake of Karl’s decision to re-enter the work force as a receptionist, Susan lets Rosie and Pepper in on a secret: she secretly misses the infuriating, proud Alpha-male side of Karl’s personality that used to drive her balmy.

'The Toxic Revenger'

Relief abounds when both Stingray and Dylan are matched as suitable donors for Kerry. But Dylan’s enthusiasm is quashed when he discovers his blood carries toxins from the time he was poisoned – and to make matters worse, he may have unwittingly caused Kerry’s illness. Stingray takes Dylan’s place as donor, keen to share a part of himself with Kerry. Angry Dylan feels Paul should take some responsibility for his poisoning but when Paul shows no compassion, Dylan punches him to the ground and accuses Paul of being sub-human.

Ned’s decision to change his life is validated when he shows off his newfound confidence and expensive toys to friends. Paul’s annoyed to find Ned ‘entertaining’ without him and their alliance is almost exposed. Ned hits a raw nerve when he wonders whether Paul is jealous of Ned’s friendships. Paul tries to ignore Ned’s taunts by focusing on Ned’s new video game. Lonely Paul’s keen to share in the fun demanding Ned show him how to play. He’s determined to prove himself the master of Ned’s life - and Ned’s games.

Her second week on the job, Carmella discerns dirty deals at the fruit market when she cannot get all of her stock – thanks to Ray’s underhand tactics. To Oliver’s concern, Carmella decides to play dirty to get what she wants.

Tiddly Susan yearns for her Karl of old, but mortifies Zeke in the process.

Karl struggles to gain control as Toadie’s ‘secretary’ and enlists Susan and Zeke to help.

'Afternoon Delight'

Despite driving serious wedges in Oliver’s relationship with Carmella, Elle’s still unsatisfied – until Paul comes up with a plan that’s wicked even for him.

As the stress of Kerry’s illness continues to take its toll, Sky sets out to take her employer to task for being prejudiced against young mothers. She’s confronted by the discovery that she’s the one with prejudiced ideas.

After pointing the finger of guilt for Kerry’s illness at Paul, Dylan realises that if anyone other than himself is to save Kerry’s life with their bone marrow he’s glad it Stingray.

Ned unexpectedly wins another prize with his confident new approach to life – Elle!

Toadie jumps at the chance to baby-sit young Zoe when new girlfriend Abby has to work unexpectedly. When Zoe wanders off, Toadie, Bree and Zeke start a frantic search. But it’s Steph who proves instrumental in recovering Zoe.

Bree and Zeke save Karl’s bacon by covertly completing his technology-dependent secretarial work.

'Great Ball of Ire'

Focused on helping Elle drive Oliver and Carmella apart, Paul puts forward an audacious scheme. Elle baulks, convinced Paul’s extreme plan has catastrophe written all over it, and pleads for a chance to force the couple apart her own way. But Elle’s subtle strategy fails to exploit the current strain in the couple’s relationship - it actually helps draw Oliver and Carmella closer together! Determined to hit back hard, Elle finally agrees to Paul’s diabolical Plan B: ‘B’ for ‘Bomb’!!

Mindful of the tension with Susan since Karl quit his medical career, Zeke fears the worst when grave Karl asks for a private chat with him and Rachel – could Karl and Susan be on a one-way trip to Splitsville? Desperate to keep their home life settled, Zeke and Rachel scramble to change Karl’s mind – but they’re stunned when Karl instead asks for their blessing to make Susan a thoroughly decent proposal…

Playful Rachel pushes Ringo into the Number Thirty pool, drawing Ringo’s ire. Playing cupid, Lolly coaxes Ringo to tell Rachel about his phobia of water. The plan works until Ringo’s inexperience wins out – and Rachel’s appalled!

Concerned about Lolly’s state of mind after the revelation of abuse, Lou hopes to renew her self-esteem through sport.

'Miss of the Spider Woman'
Airs on Friday, May 18 2007 at 17:35 BST on BBC One

Paul barely manages to drag Elle from what they assume is now a murder scene. Paul insists they stay calm and all will be well, but Elle can’t help finding out what happened to Oliver and Carmella. They’ve had a lucky escape and Elle begins to plan anew – undermining Carmella with a shocked and angry Oliver, while encouraging Carmella to confront Ray. When Oliver learns where Carmella’s gone, he’s furious – to Elle’s delight!

Lou wants to boost Lolly’s self-esteem and thinks team sports might be the way to do it. He enlists Rachel and Ringo’s help, and, with Susan as Pepper’s reluctant replacement as referee, the basketball game begins. Lolly is miserably correct in her prediction of an unparalleled display of uncoordinated behaviour and loses the game by a country mile. Lou realises another tack may be required.

Lolly counsels Ringo to win back Rachel with an outrageous story. Rachel doesn’t believe the tale for a minute, but is charmed nonetheless.

When Paul finds Elle’s scarf at Ned’s flat, Ned manages to lie his way out of revealing their fling. Paul is chagrined – of course Elle wouldn’t go with Ned. Insulted, Ned calls Elle and lines up another dalliance!
