Guilty Girls - Bad Girls Spin Off

Bad Girls was tragically axed back in 2006, and now a spin-off will take its place. Still at Larkhall, we follow the inmates and officers on B Wing. The inmates struggle to cope on the inside and turn to drugs, self harm and violence to help them through, whilst the officers juggle with their jobs and their complicated personal lives. Friendships and alliances are formed, whilst enemies are developed. We follow B Wing Governor, Hazel Johnson, who tries to get to the root of the inmates behaviour, and puts in her every effort to make inmates learn right from wrong, and overall, make B Wing a better place. Whatever happens in this series, these girls are far from innocent....

Wing Governor Hazel Johnson (played by Amanda Drew)
Hazel is a 30 year old who has been in the service, 6 months since she graduated from university back when she was 21 years old. She has taken over the role of B Wing Governor for 1 year now and she's determined to make a difference. Her main aim is to make B Wing a better place and teach the women, right from wrong. She is determined to get there, without her fellow officers' help. Whoever is determined to help her, she respects. Whoever isn't determined to help her meet her objective, she hates.

Principal Officer Darren James (played by John Bowler)
Darren is 40 years old and has been in the service for nearly 20 years. He has experience and likes to tell other officers his experiences and how best to tackle difficult situations. This gets on other officers nerves as he sounds patronising and arrogant because he thinks he knows more than anybody else. He is respected by lots of the women though, and knows how to deal with them if ever they kick off - send them down the block!

Senior Officer William Finch (played by Perry Fenwick)
William is 33 years old and he has just been promoted, Senior Officer. He is delighted and is determined to prove himself to Hazel by helping her with her main aim. His determination to prove himself may become overbearing though. William left school at the end of age 16, a few GCSEs under his belt, but he decided to join the prison service straight away. He started out as a basic prison officer, and has slowly worked his way up the ranks.

Basic PO - Nat Jacobs (played by Sarah Barrand)
Nat has just joined the service. She did go to university, but she never enjoyed it so packed it in after her first year. She joined B Wing a year ago. Now she's 20 years old. She is very kind-hearted towards the inmates and will do anything for them. Her kindness sometimes makes her forget that the inmates are there because they've commited a crime. In this series, her kindness gets her into a tricky situation...

Basic PO - Jonathan Maguire (played by Ben Price)
Jonathan is 28 years old. He always looks out for the inmates best interests and is determined to help them whenever he can. He does have a tricky personal life though that does sometimes get in the way of his work. This lands him in trouble with Hazel, and he's been asked numerous times not to mix work with pleasure...

Basic PO - Amelia Havers (played by Lucy Pargeter)
Amelia is 36 years old. She's been to many prisons in her time, and has had plenty of hands on experience. She was once promoted to Wing Governor at another prison, but got sacked soon after four inmates escaped in the space of a week! Amelia is a bitch, who likes to get what she wants. She likes to wind the inmates up, knowing that if they kick off, she won't be landing in trouble, but the inmates will.

Amber Asher (played by Rebekah Gibbs)
Amber is 31 years old and has been jailed for 10 years for kidnap. She kidnapped the two school bullies who was bullying her daughter. She kidnapped them for 2 weeks and asked for a ransom demand, or she'd kill them. She doesn't regret what she did and shows no remorse, claiming what she did was to protect her daughter, Libby who is now 12 years old. She's been on B Wing for one year so far. She is very strong minded, she hates to be bossed about and told what to do. She tries to make friends among inmates as best she can.

Harriet Harvey (played by Kellie Shirley)
Harriet has been sentenced for 3 years for GBH. She brutally glassed a woman's face with a glass bottle as she was convinced she was trying it on with her husband, when they were just having a friendly chat. She has two kids, who she hasn't seen since she's been inside as her husband refuses to let them see her, not wanting them to see the state that their mother is in.

Della Harding (played by Lacey Turner)
Della is 19 years old and has been jailed for 7 years for possession of drugs and intent to supply. Since she's been in school, she has mixed with the wrong crowd, and has been involved in drugs since the age of 13. She has felt vulnerable from a young age, and self harms because she believes nobody cares for her...probably because her family haven't really cared for her well-being since she's existed.

Janice Bright (played by Helen Latham)
She is 28 years old and has been jailed for life for the murder of her husband. She plotted to kill him to get his money as he was a rich entrepreneur, but she was soon seen as guilty and was trialed, and sentenced to life in prison. She has little friends and likes to be the leader. She is determined to become top dog of B Wing, and in her opinion, she thinks that no one can stop her.

Suzie Anderson (played by Megan Dodds)
Suzie has been jailed for 5 years for fraud. She was a single parent, with two twins. The dad left the scene when she was pregnant, and she risked losing her house as she failed to pay the bills. In a bid to get more money, she decided to fake a series of accidents to get compensation, but her plan was uncovered and she was trialed and sentenced to 5 years for fraud. Suzie is a good person, and hates violence. She only did what she did so she could keep a roof over her family's heads because she has always vowed to do anything for her family. It all went wrong though, and now her two baby twins are in care.

Gabriella Hanson (played by Katherine Kelly)
She has been jailed for life for murdering her mother - in law. The reason for her crime was because "the in-law was getting on her tits so she needed to get rid of her" She has no friends, she believes she don't need any as she can look after herself. She is also determined to become top dog, but Janice is standing in her way, and she's determined to do something about it. Truly cold and evil. Some inmates wonder if she's even got any feeling, emotion or even a heart....

Gillian Drummond (played by Judy Loe)
Gillian is 35 years old and arrives in Episode 1 but is hiding a terrible secret. She refuses to reveal why she's inside. She knows if she tells anyone anything, the inmates will want her dead... She keeps herself to herself and struggles to mix in with the other inmates, making her stand out to the other inmates. She is incredibly clingy and possessive.

Scene 1- Outside Larkhall Prison - Morning

(A prison van pulls up outside Larkhall prison. The van stops and we see a middle aged elegant woman by the name of Gillian Drummond step out. She is carrying her bags behind her. She gets out of the van and starts walking. A prison officer is escorting her inside the prison)

Prison Officer: Come on! Move it!

Gillian: Alright! Alright! Keep your bleedin' knickers on!

Prison Officer: Stop with the cheek you and move swiftly!

Gillian: Bleedin' 'ell! I have to endure 15 years of this crap! God help me! :rolleyes:

(Gillian walks into Larkhall prison, with the prison officer escorting her)

Scene 2- B Wing Office- Morning

The officers are in the B Wing office, ready for the morning briefing. We see Hazel enter the office in a hurry.

Hazel: Sorry i'm late...had a bit of a rough night last night...

Jonathan: And you told me not to mix business with pleasure! :rolleyes:

Hazel rolls her eyes at Jonathan.

Hazel: Anyway, we best start...there's one thing i would like to raise, i'm concerned about an inmate...

Amelia: (laughs) Don't worry..i think we're all concerned for them, they're a bunch of nutters!

Hazel: I'm being serious here...i'm concerned for our youngest inmate here on the wing, Della Harding...

Nat: Della Harding? Why? She seems like a nice girl...

Amelia: Well she obviously isn't nice or she wouldn't be locked up would she?! :rolleyes:

Hazel: Della's done nothing wrong, i'm just concerned for her well-being, she seems depressed right now, feeling down...i want you lot to keep an eye on her...

Jonathan: Maybe we could try cheering her up?

Hazel: I'm more into finding out the root of Della's depression, i want to find out what's wrong with her, what might be bothering her....

Darren: I've experienced this type of problem before...there is always atleast one tricky inmate on one wing, one that might be feeling down, in my experience, there most likely to be depressed because they're missing home or there could be troubles on the outside...

Hazel: Well thanks for your input Darren! As you all know, we all do appreciate what you have to say! :)

William: (excited) Maybe as i've just been promoted to Senior Officer, i could try dealing with the problem!

The officers huff at William, they've heard him mention his new promotion atleast 5 times over since the day started.

Hazel: Steady on Will...we must all work as a team to find out what's wrong with Della Harding...if we're gonna find out what's bothering her, we're going to do it together...one last thing to add, a new inmate will be joining us in the next few days, her name is Gillian Drummond..

Amelia: Fanbloodytastic! :rolleyes:

Hazel leaves the office. The officers get up, all ready to unlock the inmates for breakfast.

Scene 3- Four Bed Dorm- Morning

Della, Harriet and Suzie are in the 4 bed dorm.

Harriet: So yeah, i had no friggin' choice did I eh!? She was trying it on with my husband so i had to stick a glass bottle in her "beautiful face" :rolleyes:

Suzie: Surely you regret what you did though?!

Harriet: Well the only bad thing that's come out of it is that i can't see my kids no more, husband won't allow it but to be honest, I don't want 'em to see me in this state anyway..

Suzie: I don't regret what i did either...i was in a tight spot, i only commited fraud to get money! I was poor, i had nothing, i struggled to pay off the bills and i had no one else to turn too! I only did what i did so that me and my twins could keep a roof over our heads...

Harriet: But it went wrong right?!

Suzie: Yeah, i got found out...and now my twins are in care, and i doubt i'll ever see them again! :( Life goes on though...don't it!?

Harriet and Suzie suddenly look up at Della and witness her slitting her wrists with a piece of glass.

Suzie: Jesus! What the hell do you think your doing!?

Harriet snatches the piece of glass from Della. Della looks at Harriet and Suzie, a shamed look on her face.

Harriet: Where did you get this piece of glass from?!

Della: The servery...

Suzie: Why are you doing this Della?! Why are you harming your own body?!

Della: (shouts) Nobody cares for me! That's why i'm doing it! :(

Suzie: You've gotta get to the hospital wing..

Suzie presses the emergency button on the cell wall.

Scene 3- G3 Landing- Morning

Lifers Gabriella and Janice both come out of their G3 cells for breakfast and bump into one another.

Gabriella: Bloody hell, you better learn to watch where your going!

Janice pushes Gabriella, they then both start pushing each other.

Gabriella: Look Janice, stop with the playground bullying and let me get past!

Janice sniggers at Gabriella.

Gabriella: I'm top dog round here Janice so let me get past!

Janice: I wouldn't be too sure of that "Princess Gabriella"...

Janice and Gabriella give each other evil looks, before Janice lets Gabriella pass through. Gabriella goes down the stairs and looks up at Janice, realising she is a rival.

Scene 4- Wing Governor's Office- Morning

Jonathan knocks on Hazel's office. Hazel is at her desk, smoking a cigarrette.

Hazel: Come in...

Jonathan enters the office.

Hazel: What is it?

Jonathan: It's about Della Harding...she's been taken down the hospital wing, she's been self harming...

Hazel: Oh dear god! I knew something was wrong with her!

Jonathan: I just thought i'd inform you..

Hazel starts picking her nails, stressed.

Hazel: Thank you Jonathan...we need to find out what's wrong with her though...what would you suggest?

Jonathan: Maybe counselling...she definetly needs to see someone...a counsellor would definetly get her to pour her heart out...

Hazel: No i don't think counselling's the answer Jonathan...i don't want anyone else involved in this apart from the officers on B Wing, i'm determined to get to the bottom of this problem...

Jonathan: So what are you gonna do?

Hazel: I'm gonna bring Della to my office when she returns from the hospital wing, i'm gonna ask her what's wrong myself...

Jonathan: Is that wise?

Hazel: Trust me Jonathan...

Jonathan smiles at Hazel before leaving her office.
