On their way to Sun Hill, PC Diane Noble (Kaye Wragg), Sergeant Nikki Wright (Gillian Taylforth) and DI Samantha Nixon (Lisa Maxwell) witness young woman, Reshna Dewan (Pooja Shah) fall from a walkway on the Cole Lane Estate. After rushing to her aid, Reshna informs the officers that she was pushed. While paying a visit to Reshna's family, Sam, Nikki and Diane discover her husband, Naz (Damian Asher) slumped in a drunken heap, with a slit wrist, clinging onto a knife. Naz manages to admit that Reshna left him because of his drinking problem tells Sam that “it’s his fault”. Could this be a confession to his wife’s attack?

The following day, Nikki and Diane are called to a disturbance at the Dewan’s flat. On discovering the flat empty, the officers are concerned to learn that she went missing from her friends’ house and the race is on to find her.

Elsewhere, PC Tony Stamp (Graham Cole) deals with Julia Price (Rachel Fielding) who confesses she has attacked a man with a golf club, after he tried to steal her car. Diane and DC Mickey Webb (Chris Simmons) question Gary Trent (Liam McKenna) after Julia identifies him as the thief and he claims he won the car during a poker match against Julia’s husband, Martin Price (Simon Slater). After further investigation, Mickey and DC Terry Perkins (Bruce Byron) realise Martin was conned by Gary which prompts Terry, Mickey, Tony and PC Dan Casper (Chris Jarvis) to go on an undercover job at the pub to see if they can catch Gary in the act…

Honour and Obey

After the discovery of Reshna’s body the previous day, DI Samantha Nixon (Lisa Maxwell) and DCI Jack Meadows (Simon Rouse) wait for the forensic report. They find out that Reshna (Pooja Shah) was strangled before being left in the Thames. Victor (Clive Russell) and his gang’s alibi have checked out, leaving the detectives wondering who was behind the attack. The twists in the story continue when Sergeant Nikki Wright (Gillian Taylforth) discovers a voicemail on Reshna’s mobile, from a man other then her husband, saying they should be together and she should leave her husband.

Later, Reshna’s friend Sara (Mamta Anand) turns up at the front desk, telling PC Tony Stamp (Graham Cole) that she has had a message from Samantha Nixon to contact her. When Sam questions Sara, she admits that Reshna was sleeping with a fellow student from college, Marcus Kosgei (Adrian Christopher). However, Reshna ended the relationship realising that she still loved her husband. Sara tells Sam that Marcus refused to believe their relationship was over and constantly hounded her.

In the meantime, PC Roger Valentine (John Bowler), PC Lewis Hardy (Aml Ameen) and Samantha track down Marcus and take him in for questioning. Marcus is distraught to hear about Reshna’s death and as a result, fails to answer any of Jack and Sam’s questions. They decide to have Marcus’s house searched and talk to Reshna’s husband again, as they don’t believe he has told them everything he knows. When confronted, Naz (Damian Asher) admits that he knew about the affair between his wife and Marcus, but insists that his family knew nothing. However, following further questioning with Ash (Ravin J. Ganatra), it appears that this was not the case…

Back at the station, PC Diane Noble (Kaye Wragg) and D.C. Mickey Webb’s (Chris Simmons) questioning of an alleged mugging victim, Maggie Carpenter (Jenny Éclair), leaves them confused. Sergeant Smithy (Alex Walkinshaw) tells the officers to go over Maggie’s statement again, as he believes her to be more of a drama queen than a victim. While making further enquiries, Maggie tells Diane and Mickey that she is actually an undercover police officer, working with Scotland Yard. They are left increasingly frustrated when Scotland Yard refuse to confirm or deny mad Maggie’s story.
