This is more of a rant than anything.. but..
Isn't it annoying how tv channels can't have a programme on the same time every week?? For a start.. ER has changed time on a Sunday to half 9, meaning I either miss the end of ER, or the beginning of Lost. Lately I been going out on Sundays, so ask my sister to tape ER, Lost and DH, but now, cause she likes ER and not Lost, I can't watch Lost!!! Do you know how annoying it is? (What's worse is, ER was an old episode this Sunday, yet my sister still watched it ).
Not only that, but Casualty! Why can't that be on at the same time every week? It drives me crazy. Say if I was going on holiday or something, and set the video, I'd miss it! (I'm not going on holiday, but you get what I mean.)
These aren't the only programmes, there's loads more, but at the moment, that's all I can think of. But you can guarantee it will happen again! Oh and also, Neighbours today. Being bank holiday, I didn't think it would be on, but it was on in the afternoon and not in the evening. I could have checked the tv guide I hear you say, but you just assume it's going to be on normal time, right? So you don't bother checking. I reckon they could have said Thursday or something!!
What do everyone else thing about programme scheduling? Discuss..

I hate it when things are on at different times
Casualty timing is annoying and it isnt on next week
I know what you mean ot gets very annoying and messes up your routine like lost has went from wednesdays to tuesdays and now sundays
i have this rant everytime something gets changed. Especially BBC 1 i found have lots of changes, like when Waterloo Road is in the TV guide as 8 o clock so i set Video plus and it was whistleblower, Its really quite annoying, and Casualty times dont get e started, i really cant get to grips with when its on when its not on.

Its so annoying when programmes are either changed what time they are going to be shown at or cancelled all together. mainly due to football. This Saturday's episode of Dr Who is supposed to be on after the FA Cup Semi-final match between Man U and Watford. But if the match runs on into extra time Dr Who will not be shown this week.

I never knew that or thought of that.
That game better not run into extra time!!!
i doubt it will, Watford will have knock three past united by then. heres hoping.
It is really frustrating, and the worst thing is it is not usually published, where i see it anyhow. I mean i missed the New street law finale as it was on at 10 40 never thought to check that late.
What I don't understand - why not put this coverage on BBC2, or move the normal programme to BBC2 instead?! Not being funny, but I'm sure more people watch the programmes that are moved/cancelled than watch either BBC2 or the coverage that they have been moved for. :searchme:
yeah exactly, It would be a lot easier than trying to slot programmes hear there and everywhere.

LOL I know what you mean, and about BBC2 quite funny really cos when comic relief was moved to BBC2 for an hour who ever was hosting at the time said they felt smarter lol.
I get really annoyed when they move Holby to a Wednesday at the same time as The Bill. Or if The Bill do three episodes a week or Holby do two as they sometimes do. Holby did it a few weeks ago and they're moving an episode to a Thursday in a few weeks.
Casualty is a nightmare. Why can't the Saturday night schedule be the same each week? Really annoys me.
And when two channels screen reality shows at the same time. I'm sure ITV are going to screen Grease at the same time as BBC air Joseph at some point or other. It's ridiculous, they just compete with each other for the ratings. I end up sticking with one instead of trying to watch both. Sorry ITV but Joseph gets my vote this year. No interruptions every 10 minutes for adverts.
Another point, why is it always regular soaps and dramas that get moved to accomodate the football?

Exactly!
Sorry, but Grease is so obviously a copy :ninja: of Maria/Joeseph, but they have two people instead of one.
Also, last week Casualty wasn't on because of the football, but, if they had moved the news a bit, they could've fitted it in! :hmm:

It's always about Football, Football is why alot of the programmes change. Being a big football fan myself still doesn't mean i would prefer to watch it instead of the other things they take of.
It's the same when its Wimbledon and The Olymics/ Commenwealths. Sport is a priorty only as they want to get more people playing but they should still take in to consideration other peoples feeling when they take off some of the best shows on tv.

the thing is that football isnt on normal tv much anymore because sky have nearly all the rights.
what actually bugs me more is that not being a soap fan at all that tv is dominated by soap yet they will never knock it off to make room for something else eg. the bill. they will constantly knock the bill of the schedules but the soap has to stay!

Indeed. And when the footie has finished on ITV1 Corrie always follows afterwards, whatever the time.

Something that will annoy me in coming weeks... Holby City changing to Thursday to suit Holby Blue. I might watch Holby Blue, I may not, but why not put that on Thursday and keep Holby City where it is .

Totally agree with you there. As I watch The Bill I'll have to decide if I want to watch holby or TB seeing as they're scheduled for the same slot. I deffinatly won't be watching Holby Blue. I think the BBC are going too far with this Holby thing. Casualty and Holby City are great but why add yet another program about Holby into the mix? It's too much IMO.
The reason why they put Holby Blue on a Tuesday is because of The Bill. If they put it on a Thursday it would go head to head with another police drama. But why not put screen it on a Monday night? I forsee Holby ratings going down while Holby Blue is on.
