The last time Billy Hopwood set foot in Emmerdale, poor Vic Windsor ended up dead – and on Christmas Day!
So its no wonder that the news that the murderous convict is heading back to the village has sent his widow Viv, and daughters Donna and Kelly into turmoil.
But while Donna and Viv find themselves able to come to terms with the thought of Vic's killer returning to the scene of his hideous crime, Kelly can't.
Instead, bitter Kelly is going to go all out to ensure that Billy's stay in Emmerdale is as miserable as possible – by launching a vicious vendetta against him.
And while boyfriend Jimmy proves useless in assisting her crusade, there is another Emmerdale man who allows himself to be roped into Kelly's wicked schemes.
But the consequences of their actions could prove fatal to another village local. Has Kelly gone too far this time?
It's the New Year, and even Emmerdale's most badly behaved residents are looking to clean up their acts. And among those with plenty of vices to choose from is Woolpack landlady Val Lambert.
However, now she's enjoying fortune at work thanks to her business empire, and at home thanks to boyfriend Eric Pollard, the blonde bombshell decides to reform her character.
But trying to ditch her trademark cigarettes is going to prove very difficult for hooked Val – especially as her nearest and dearest pile on the pressure for her to give up.
So when her resolve slips and she sneaks a crafty fag in the pub, Val's horrified to be nearly caught out by Paul.
But not as horrified as she's going to be when her unextinguished smoke sets the entire pub on fire! Has Val wrecked her resolution and her livelihood in one fell swoop?
Finally, Val might be playing with fire, but that's nothing compared to Andy Sugden.
With his jailbird dad back in the village, the fed up farmer is at his wits' end. And it's not his wife Katie whom Andy is turning to in his hour of need.
Instead, Andy is getting closer and closer to his former flame Jo Stiles – even contemplating the idea of leaving his wife for the sexy secretary.
However, when he discovers that Katie may be pregnant with his baby, Andy's going to realise that getting out of his marriage isn't going to be as easy as he might have imagined.
And, adding to their collective misery is the fact that the warring spouses are unable to hold a civil conversation!
Can Katie and Andy find a way through their troubles, or has scheming Jo won her man after all?

These sound really good, Jo still trying to get her teeth stuck in to Andy i wonder if she will. And with his dad back around i'm not sure what welcome he'll get from him nevermind the rest of the village.

Coming up....
Kelly's smear campaign gathers pace as an article about Billy hits the front pages and, after a row with Viv, she visits Vic's grave - only to be confronted by his killer.
She later asks Jack for help in getting rid of Billy, but when he refuses to take part in anything underhand, she goes to see Eli. With a little persuasion, he tampers with the truck the former con is driving, and he ends up in a lake. Unfortunately, Victoria had been trying to get into clubs in Hotten, but after being rejected, accepted a lift from Billy who was passing by.
He manages to save the young girl's life, but it does little to change Andy's opinion of his father.
Meanwhile, Donna and Val lock horns over the back room of the Woolpack, but any arguments become elementary when the landlady, who's trying to quit smoking, starts a fire in the pub, rendering the living quarters useless.
Paul is called upon to make room for his father as Rodney continues to irritate Eric by making himself comfortable at Farrers' Barn.

Victoria had been trying to get into clubs in Hotten
How old is she meant to be??? I though she was like 13!!!
Donna and Val lock horns lol sounds fun, but burning down the back room again i'm sure this happened not long ago.
There's plenty of drama ahead for the residents of Butler's Farm over the next few weeks – as Andy Sugden finally makes his choice between wife Katie or secret lover Jo Stiles.
So far, the feckless farmer has opted to stick with his blonde bride, but the temptation to throw it all away in favour of sexy Jo is proving to be hard to resist.
It doesn't help that relations between Andy and Katie have hit a real low in the face of her pregnancy worries. But there are some words of warning for Andy from the most unlikeliest of sources – his convict father Billy!
It seems that in just a few days, Billy has got the measure of manipulative Jo and he's convinced that if Andy goes for her, there will be nothing but heartache ahead. But with his feelings for her stronger than ever, is Andy about to make a decision he'll live to regret?
Elsewhere in Emmerdale, there's a new romantic dilemma for ageing Lothario Rodney Blackstock too. Ever since he called time on his relationship with the much younger Kelly Windsor, ‘Hot Rod' has kept his focus on trying to rebuild his decimated fortune.
However, that all changes with the arrival of newcomer Georgina – who catches his eye almost immediately. The problem is that Georgina has no idea that following his misfortune at the hands of the taxman, Rodney hasn't got two shillings to rub together.
And giving that his entire pulling routine usually revolves around showering the object of his affections with flash pressies, that could prove to be something of a problem! Can Rodney get by on his natural charm or will this latest love match end in disaster?
Finally, it's curtains for Dales dame Del Dingle. The kooky character is going to be departing the village this summer – but we're promised an explosive exit. Producer Kath Beedles has decided not to renew actress Hayley Tamaddon's contract but has promised not to kill off Del – leaving the door open for a comeback later down the line.
Rumours are already swirling about the exact nature of Del's leaving storyline. But a popular theory is that it'll have something to do with her hunky boyfriend David Metcalfe. We've already been promised a glimpse of David's dark side so could it be Del who suffers at the hands of the son of Pollard? We can't wait to find out!

So it was true about Del leaving, i think they should have kept her in as after her stint on soapstars superstars she has won alot of fans ie her character has become more popular.

After a fight with Billy, Andy publicly announces he loves Jo, not Katie. Naturally, the farmer's wife is devastated, but nothing can prepare her for Diane's revelation.
The landlady inadvertently lets slip to Katie about Andy and Jo's previous fling. In a rage, she flies out of the Woolpack and starts a fight with her love rival, leaving Paddy and Hari to separate the feuding pair.
Elsewhere, Rodney takes Georgina to Victoria Cottage in a bid to step their relationship up a gear, but is embarrassed when Paul and Emily catch him in the act. A day later, he repeats the performance at Mill Cottage - but this time Grayson and Perdy find him and Georgina during their 'business' meeting, leaving the down-at-heel antique dealer with some serious explaining to do.
Meanwhile, Marlon suffers an injury as he works on the eco-home, and Debbie is impressed by the success of Eli's latest scam. She tries to persuade him to cut her in on the scheme, but he's concerned she's not experienced enough.
The Dingle teen eventually goes to the casino with her cousin to con money out of gamblers, but soon finds herself in over her head.
Plus, Jamie grows paranoid about a police presence in the village and confides his fears to Jasmine, while Viv goes into labour in the countryside.
aaawww the babies are on their way - although im not too sure i really want to see viv in labour she annoys me at the best of times.

We can only hope the actual police are a little more efficient when real murders have been committed and the constabulary's methods in Emmerdale are not a blueprint of Scotland Yard.
The case of Tom King's killing remains unsolved and it seems our favourite detectives have gone through the rest of the village and have therefore decided it's his sons' turn to be in the frame.
As Jimmy is taken away, Kelly becomes worried about his alibi when the police also call her in for questioning and Barraclough claims she has evidence linking at least one of the brothers to the murder.
Meanwhile, the old adage of love is blind certainly rings true for Del when she finds Val's money in David's room and he reveals his plan to wreak havoc on her boss and his lover.
Not normally one to be nasty - if you discount the time she scalded Toni- the gullible seamstress agrees to keep tight-lipped about his plans.
Billy's constant presence in the village continues to create upheaval when Edna offers him a place to live and Jack becomes incensed at the ex-convict's determination to stay in the community.
Please keep all snipet in the one place thank you

It seems Bob has more ex-wives than an international rock star, as another one appears out of the woodwork, complete with estranged child in tow.
This time it's Vonda and their daughter Roxy, and the ex-Mrs Hope seems determined to make the barman face up to his parental responsibilities.
After some well-aimed remarks about his abilities as a father, she announces her ex-husband will have the chance to make up for his previous neglect because she is leaving Roxy temporarily in his care.
Delighted at the prospect of spending some quality time with her dad, the young girl quickly adjusts to life in the village and happily has a free lunch in the café. However, the tranquillity doesn't last for long when she begins to choke on a piece of food.
While Bob stands around helpless, unsure of what to do, Jimmy performs the Heimlich manoeuvre and saves her life.
The irony of a King saving his daughter's life is not lost on Bob - but can he put their disagreement behind him and end their bitter feud?
Meanwhile, Chas finds out the truth about Carl and Carrie's past, and Paddy is the victim of a particularly nasty stunt by Zak and Shadrach.

The villagers are still reeling over the untimely death of Len, but despite the tragic circumstances, it seems Edna and Pearl are not about to call a truce. As the funeral gets underway, Pearl leaves Marc and Lady Tara unimpressed by her drunken behaviour, while Edna is hurt she has not been invited to the service, leading to a showdown between the two at the deceased's graveside.
Can they put their animosity aside and reunite in their grief?
Elsewhere, the church is booked for a much happier occasion as the day of Sharon and Dan's wedding finally dawns.
However, tension runs high in the lead up to the nuptials, when Rodney makes a shocking discovery about the groom-to-be and his womanising ways.
As Sharon tries to persuade him she is quite happy to put up with his cheating in return for a luxury lifestyle, Val also makes a disturbing find and becomes determined to fill her daughter in on all the details - leaving the ceremony hanging precariously in the balance.
Meanwhile, Billy returns to the Dales and takes up a job in the garage, much to the delight of Daz but the chagrin of Jack.
Could the ex-convict's reappearance signal round two for the warring fathers?
David sets his sights on another Dingle and Kelly gives Scarlett a makeover, but the end result is far from pleasing.
