The new boy on the Street, Darryl Morton, likes nothing more than slobbing in front of the television and being a typical teenager, according to actor Jonathan Dixon.
Darryl is one of the noisy new Morton family members, who make their Corrie debut this weekend. But while the rest of the clan are soon out causing havoc, it might be a job to get Darryl off the couch!
Jonathan Dixon, who plays the young newcomer, told ITV Soaps, “Darryl is nearly 18 and a teenage lazy boy. He doesn't want to do anything!
“He's still at college but he never goes, he'd rather spend his life on the sofa watching TV,” Jonathan added.
Darryl arrives in Coronation Street with his twin sister Mel, but according to Jonathan the twins are quite different. “She's definitely not as work shy,” he laughed.
Sounds like that wouldn't be too hard!
However, we have a sneaky feeling that Weatherfield might be able to offer one guaranteed attraction that will tempt Darryl away from the box…
After all, there are several pretty young ladies down on the Street, and we bet it's not long before one or more of them catch his eye!
