With just two days to go before retiring from the force, Sergeant June Ackland (Trudie Goodwin) finds herself deeply involved in a corruption investigation on the Aldbourne Estate development after breaking up a fight between angry evictee, Frank Harris (David Beames), and property developer, Brian Stevens (Mike Reid).
During his interview, Stevens tells June and PC Roger Valentine (John Bowler) that Frank has been following him and taking photographs of him as evidence - Frank thinks that his purchase of the estate was illegitimate. Later, Frank secretly tells June that he has seen emails between Stevens and Councillor, Jerry Davis (Paul Hurstfield), proving that Stevens has paid money to ensure his proposal for the estate was approved. Realising the seriousness of the allegation, June fills Superintendent John Heaton (Daniel Flynn) and Inspector Gina Gold (Roberta Taylor) in on the suspected corruption. While Roger manages to obtain the incriminating emails, June goes to collect the CCTV evidence of a meeting between Stevens and Davis. But, on her way back with the scandalous discovery that DAC Georgia Hobbs (Kazia Pelka) is also involved in the corruption case, June is driven off the road and a masked man steals the tape.
After a check-up a St Hugh’s Hospital, a shaken June returns to the station and shows Gina the emails proving that Georgia has offered Sun Hill Station as part of a re-development proposal. They decide to tell Heaton when he is back in the morning but her way home, June is shocked to catch Heaton and Georgia kissing and leaving together. Could the Superintendent be implicated too?

Sergeant June Ackland (Trudie Goodwin) and Inspector Gina Gold (Roberta Taylor) brace themselves before confronting Superintendent John Heaton (Daniel Flynn) about the corruption case. But, when they show him the emails between DAC Georgia Hobbs (Kazia Pelka) and property developer, Brian Stevens (Mike Reid), June and Gina are surprised when Heaton tells them he will deal with Georgia rather than passing it on to the DPS. After seeing the Superintendent kissing Georgia the night before, June is convinced that Heaton is also corrupt.
June then meets up with DC Mickey Webb (Chris Simmons) who is trying to trace the driver who ran her off the road the night before. Mickey is suspicious that she is holding back information and June purposefully doesn’t tell him that the driver crashed into her in order to steal a CCTV tape containing evidence of Stevens and Councillor, Jerry Davis (Paul Hurstfield), making a dodgy deal and. Through further investigation, June discovers that the driver is Stevens’ son, Ian Scott (Jazon Maza), and both Scott and Stevens are brought in for questioning but Mickey is forced to end the interview when June accuses Stevens of being corrupt. When she tells him that Heaton and Georgia are both involved in the corruption, June is infuriated when Mickey is passes the case back to Heaton.
Meanwhile, on the Aldbourne Estate, uniformed officers deal with a riot situation as the resident evictions get underway. Sergeant Nikki Wright (Gillian Taylforth) briefs the team on the protestors when suddenly a petrol bomb is thrown and they’re bombarded with missiles. Later, Heaton congratulates the team on controlling the estate and happily announces that Sun Hill will not be closing. June is surprised when Heaton hands the DPS a tape of Georgia confessing her part in the development corruption and Georgia is stunned as she is arrested and led away for questioning. June apologises to Heaton for not trusting him and as she leaves his office, is stunned to see her ex-husband, DS Jim Carver (Mark Wingett) arriving to discuss a case with the Superintendent…
