New Corrie star Samantha Seager is settling into life on the cobbles – but her character Jodie's finding everything a bit strange!
The 32-year-old actress plays newcomer Jodie Morton, who moves into The Street with her dad Jerry and two younger siblings, and is set to make a big impact.
Jodie's first task is to get her new business venture up and running – but with Charlie Stubbs cold in his grave, things have hit a snag …
Samantha told ITV Soaps, “They've chosen the area as a place to set up their business. They find it a bit strange at first though; there's an odd selection of characters and the person they chose to renovate their business was murdered.”
It's not a positive start but soon Jodie is getting to grips with Charlie's protégé Jason and making a man of the young builder.
She added, “I think she frightens him a bit, she doesn't know the circumstances he's working under and she thinks he's not doing her job properly so she's tough with him.
“She's invested a lot of money into this and she wants things done.”
So will Samantha enjoy playing such a vibrant character?
“It's brilliant to play someone so feisty,” laughs Samantha. “She's a bit mischievous and a bit cheeky - it's always great to play someone with a naughty streak. She's already told Dev he's a bit cheesy.”
