Is it ever to late to start learning something new.
Is it ever to late to start learning something new.
nope. and I stick by it.. I am 35 learning a new language.. my dad learnt how to use a computer at 65. I went to school with a woman who did her exams at the age of 72 and she has a degree in History of Art from Trinity.. so it is never ever too late
Never too late to try something new. All you need is commitment and willpower
Okay really random but I totally agree, and you learn something new everyday

Ooooo maybe in this thread we should post what we have learnt today, I know it sounds stupid but like to prove that you do learn something new everyday.

Very true Alan. Just by watching the news you are learning new things, talking to people, etc
Its never to late to learn something new I think. You may not have as much of an incentive as you get older, or you may have more of an incentive, but its never too late.
ah right i thought that and my mate was like whats the point as yourll never be able to learn something now and be good at it.
I want to learn the violin once my exams are over it will give me something to do in the holidays you see. well actually i see it more as a Fiddle. I already play a fewe instruments so i wont have to learn notation. also my mum is thinking about learning the keyboard.

I believe it's never too late to learn something new. Learn something new, and grab new opportunites while you can before it's too late, that's what i say. :)
I think it's never too late, but the older you are the more you need to want to learn, because it's not as easy for the brain to absorb information.

I play the cornet (brass) and the whistle, and the keyboard. and i can play clarinet but i sold it. So it really would be a challenge. I think i am going to get me a book on how to play and invest in a starter one, about 50 quid. Im determined now as i have set my mind on it.

Finally taking a computer course on how to maintain them, the going to do one on software.
Telling yourself or listening to others make excuses about why not is a waste, I have done it too often. So now I've stopped and now I learning and you know what, it never is too late.
If those in their 80's can learn something new so can we :D

I don;t think anyone is too old to learn anything. I left school at 16 and worked until I went on maternity leave. The work I did was mostly hotel & bar work and working for catering companies, but when I had marley I didn't want to go back to that but I need to be retrained how to have a different career, so I spent 4 years studying to gain a degree. I think as long as you are committed to doing something you can acheive anything.
