After almost 15 years of their stop-start relationship, Heartbeat's Gina Ward and Pc Phil Bellamy have finally made it down the aisle.

The wedding scenes were filmed this week in Goathland, North Yorkshire, where mother nature appeared to lend a helping hand.

A Heartbeat spokeswoman said: "We had planned a winter wedding so hired snow machines to provide the special effects on the day. But it started snowing the night before filming and has continued throughout the week, so we've had the real thing."

Tricia Penrose, who plays barwoman Gina in the ITV police drama, said: "It's been great filming the scenes and I love my outfit.

"I really hope things work out for Gina and Bellamy (Mark Jordon) this time."

The couple were engaged once before but lost their baby, putting pressure on the relationship.

This time, Gina proposes to the Pc.

The wedding will be screened later this year.
