How often do you go to the cinema? What kinds of films do you go and see?

Thought we could discuss our cinema habits in this thread.

I try and go once a week, usually Orange Wednesdays with my mate, who will always accept a freebie, often some others tag along if its a film they want to watch. The great thing about going once a week is you get to see most of the films that come out, it's great, a habit you should all get into.

As for films we watch we usually go for anything that has good reviews or a big star line up. Last year we went to see The Inside Man purely for the star line up (Clive Owen, Jodi Foster, Densel Washington) and it turned out to be great. When you go each week you manage to see trailers for all the upcoming films so you get an idea of what films you will be going to see in the future, we always say "that looks good" and end up havign about five on our list at anyone time :rotfl:

I dont like comedies or horror or sci fi, I go for the big budget blockbusters or the ones that make you think a bit (V for Vendetta, Children of Men, Last King Of Scotland) etc.

Anyways over to you lot...:D

I tend to go on a Wednesday as well, as then its a reasonable price, lol!! Our cinema has gone up again, to about £6.50 on a weekday, and £7-£7.50 on a Weekend, which is OTT. I go with my mate most the time, and one of us buys the tickets, and the other buys the grub :rotfl:

I normally see Comedies, light-hearted films, blockbusters, or Horror films

 Extortion! It's 3.25 for students, and for adults before 6. It's 5.00 for adults at peak time and weekends, no one ever pays more than 5.00!

And thats on the outskirts of London. Go into Central London, and you'll easily pay about £25 for 2 tickets, lol!! The Leister Square Odeon, and places like that.

I hardly ever go to the cinema unless there is a particular film I want to see. Its too expensive I just use the power of the internet now to get films.

I hardly ever go. I'm 15 and I've never been with my parents :rotfl: I only go when my friends go and invite me, so I don't choose what I see, but it's usually science fiction.

You see I think ive been more with my parents than with my friends cos they are too busy or dont want to go.

I usually go once every few months with friends...i don't think they would ever go once a week if they wanted too as it's just too expensive..and i always like to go with friends, so it's once every few months.

We usually go and see action or comedy films or kids films or horror films...anything really apart from war films or romantic films.

Last film we went to see was Flushed Away, don't know what we're going to see next but we're planning on going to see Mr Bean On Holiday. :D

i try to go once a week like Bry said. I go to a local one screen cinema in the village so the choice is really up to them. I like to see a variety of things although there is something i really dont like the look of then i wont go and Lea, orange Wednesdays is where you get one ticket half price, or free i forget which it is, and it is sponsered by orabnge the phone company.

I don't go much cos we don't have a cinema around here. The nearest is 20 - 25 miles away and if you don't have a car (only my dad can drive and he works pretty much all the time :( ) it can get quite expensive on public transport. Add in the tickets and the snacks and its an expensive trip.

Last film I went to see was Casino Royale and before that it was POTC2. Think I've only seen 5 films in the cinema last year.

I do like going to the cinema and would go more if it wasn't so expensive. I'm going to start learning to drive at the end of the month so maybe when I pass I'll go more :)

I go to the cinema about once a year - seriously! The last film I saw was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Nowadays I prefer to wait for the DVD to come out to rent it. I just don't really enjoy the cinema experience, tall people blocking my view, people kicking my chair, etc etc. Plus the price of the tickets are sooo expensive!!
