Coronation Street registered its highest ratings in two years on Monday night.

The first episode of the night, in which Tracy Barlow killed Charlie Stubbs, averaged 12.3 million viewers. The same number returned for the second installment a half hour later, when Barlow was charged with Stubbs' murder. The peak audience of the two episodes was 13.1 million.

In comparison, Monday night's episode of EastEnders attracted only 9.4 million viewers.

Not surprising really considering what fantastic storylines Corrie are churning out right now along with the fabulous characters they currently have.

Eastenders not surprising although it has improved slightly but it is far from consistent and storylines drag on and on...
