Girls Aloud and the Sugababes have teamed up to record this year's Comic Relief single.
According to reports, the girl groups will release a cover of Aerosmith's 'Walk This Way' ahead of the biannual fundraiser on March 16.
A second charity single, featuring a number of comedians, is also thought to be in development.
hhhmmm....thats a strange combo and the song  hope they dont ruin it
i thought that a bit of an odd combination, you never know it might work and it will be a big seller as the comic relief ones always are.
Odd combination, an like you said Katy alot of people buy the comic relief songs anyway.

I think it's about time Girls Aloud took the back seat for a while. They're starting to become too 'in ya face' I think.

I'd like to hear Tony and Peter do 500 miles
Sugababes and Girls Alound? They could never pull off an Aerosmith song, collectivly or seperatly. They don't have "rock" voices or the vocal ranges.
Still, people will probably buy it just cos its for comic relief.
Just thought of soemthing esle which is musically comic relief realted, doe this mean they are also starting up celeb fame academy again?
Their styles are totally different, it could end up just sounding like a mess!
But its a Comic Releif single, people will buy it anyway. Like they did with Emma Buntons CIN single.

Not sure about fame academy but i found this:
Good news for all Vicar of Dibley fans! The show will be returning for a one-off special on Red Nose Day (Friday 16th March).
The New Year’s Day episode saw the nation's favourite vicar marry village newcomer Harry Kennedy (played by Richard Armitage from BBC’s Robin Hood). The two-parter brought the much-loved show to a close after 12 successful years on the BBC. Over 12 million viewers tuned in, making it the most popular TV programme over the festive season.
Following the final episode, fans hit the internet and phones begging for the show’s return - and we are delighted to confirm that Red Nose Night will answer their prayers!
The one-off forms part of seven hours of cracking comedy on March 16th

Girls Aloud and Sugababes are an odd pairing. Don't they hate each other they are always slagging each other off. I love the song but can they pull off a song that has been sung by a rap group and rock group.

Ladies' man Russell Brand cosied up to Girls Aloud and the Sugababes at the launch of Red Nose Day.
The two bands are teaming up on this year's Comic Relief single, a cover of the Run-DMC hit Walk This Way.
Girls Aloud stars Sarah Harding, Kimberly Walsh and Nicola Roberts were at the launch with Sugababes Keisha Buchanan, Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah - all wearing their red noses.
"It's a fantastic song and hopefully will raise tons of money for people living in really difficult situations here and in Africa," said Walsh.
Brand will be one of the presenters for BBC One's Red Nose Night on March 16. He will co-host the seven-hour telethon alongside the likes of Davina McCall, Chris Evans, Lenny Henry, Graham Norton, Fearne Cotton and Jonathan Ross.
The official launch took place at the London Eye - and the famous landmark got into the spirit of things by wearing its very own red nose.
Highlights of this year's fundraising extravaganza include the last-ever episode of the Vicar Of Dibley, with a special guest appearance by Sting.
Comic Relief Does The Apprentice will see Sir Alan Sugar put 10 celebrities through their paces. The girls' team, made up of fashion queen Trinny Woodall, actress Maureen Lipman, comic Jo Brand, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole and football boss Karren Brady, will be pitted against the boys' team of DJ Danny Baker, ex-EastEnder Ross Kemp, former Mirror editor Piers Morgan, actor Rupert Everett and former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell.
Celebrity Fame Academy will return with hosts Patrick Kielty and Fearne Cotton. And Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles will tour the nation hosting a series of karaoke nights.
This is the 11th Red Nose Day and the 21st year of Comic Relief. The charity has raised more than £425 million so far and sold over 45 million red noses.
Is there suppose to be a link or picture in that post?

Comic Relief day is Friday 16 March I will need to get to sainsburys to buy my red nose. I wonder what they will do to poor Jack Dee this time. Last Red nose day they had him standing on a post up in the air for most of the night.

Last comic relief day I bought some red hair spray and sent Marley to school with red hair. It was brilliant as most of the kids had wonderful hairstyles, which is unusal because her school is quite strich about their dress code.

I bought our red noses and red hairspray yesterday. The noses this year are made of foam instead of plastic. I am planning to buy a jamie oliver kids recipe book for comic relief as well.
Ive heard it and thought it was alright, surprising really.

Marley's school had a red nose day at school. They had a talent contest like fame academy where the acts had to perform to in front of their classmates during the week and the best act from each class went through to the final to peformed for the school on Friday with the teachers being the judges. The Head Master had to be like Richard Park and tell the kids they were awful so the kids in the audience could boo & hiss at him :D The winning act was four boys from p5 aged 9 who called themselves Take Them and they sang Patients. They also had a dressing down day were the kids all went with red hair and red noses. The school is hoping to raise £800 from the day so that they can buy a classroom in Africa.

I cried at the Annie Lennox VT with her song "Why?" in the background. It was so sad, all of the people in the video were HIV+ except Annie. Deffinatly something I will remember for a long time.
