8.20pm - Contestant number one Jermaine Jackson enters the house sporting dark shades and a gold spangled jacket. Michael's brother declares he is a very private person and wonders 'how he even got into this'.

8.25pm - Disgraced Miss Great Britain Danielle Lloyd is the second contestant to enter the house. Doesn't recognise Jermaine Jackson.

8.30pm - Film director Ken Russell, 80, enters the house, serenading the crowd with a bizarre rendition of Singing in the Rain and a stream of bad language. Appears confused and disorientated. Davina is forced to take him by the hand and guide him inside. Says the experience could be three weeks of paradise or hell.

8.40pm - Former S Club 7 singer Jo O'Meara is the fourth housemate to arrive.

8.50pm - Seventies superstar Leo Sayer enters the house as contestant number five. The pint sized singer takes a shine to Jermaine, an old Seventies singing compatriot.

8.55pm - Contestant number six is Bollywood babe Shipla Shetty. Says she will miss her 'entourage'.

9.05pm - Geordie journalist Carole Malone enters the house, immediately getting the crowd's back up by labelling reality tv stars 'a bunch of morons'.

9.10pm - Token loud mouth Donny Tourette from punk band Towers of London is the eighth housemate to enter the house. Aggravates the crowd with rude gestures and has to be escorted down the red carpet by security guards.

9.15pm - Newly-outed former Steps star Ian 'H' Watkins bounces into the house as inmate number nine.

9.25pm - Kenny Everitt's glamorous sidekick Cleo Rocos is housemate number 10. Says Kenny would think she is 'a complete loon' for entering the house, but would love watching it.

So what does everyone think??

Day 1, 22:50
Uh oh, there are eleven celebrities but only ten beds...
Nine single beds and one double can only mean one thing. Two celebrities are going to be cosying up, and possibly spooning. And tonight it's Jo and Donny.

Sometimes being quick to do things in the Big Brother House pays off and when it comes to choosing beds, speed is paramount. When Big Brother announced that the bedroom door was open, Ex-S Clubber Jo was the slowest off the mark and the last to claim a bed, much to her distress.

It didn't take long for the housemates to start speculating about the sleeping arrangements and no one seemed keen to be stuck near rocker Donny: "Please make sure Donny is not near me in the bedroom," Danielle fretted. "He's crazy...I dunno what he's gonna do next!"

But when it was time for the bed choosing to commence, Donny sat on the kitchen counter while his fellow housemates made a dash to claim their pit. Jo was just too slow and missed out on all of the single beds: "I'm not sleeping on the double bed...why did that happen to me?" she moaned.

"It's a double bed for a single person..." Cleo said helpfully, before realising, "...no, Donny is missing..."

Screwing her face up, Jo grumbled: "I am not sleeping with Donny, absolutely not...I would rather sleep on the floor!"

Celebrity or not, this is Big Brother and beggars most certainly can't be choosers...

Day 1, 23:36
Ken produces quite a sight for sore eyes...
Communal living is a bit of a problem for some of the housemates, but not for Ken. He stripped off, bent over and Danielle saw the...er, lot.

It may well have been their first night in the Big Brother House, but the housemates were out of their entrance clobber and in to their PJ's in no time. And while Leo and Jo put their jim jams on discreetly, Ken decided to let it all hang out.

Jo, Jermaine and Donny were chatting in the lounge, when a giggling Danielle burst in and interrupted with a news-flash: "Listen to this...Ken just got changed...I was facing the room and he took his underpants off and bent over..." Cringing, she finished: "...meat and two veg between his legs and I've seen it!"

"No way!" Jo gasped. "It's gonna give me nightmares for rest of my life, I can't even look at him now," Danielle grimaced. Standing up she started to demonstrate Ken's bold move: "He went like this," she said, bending, "Maybe he wanted me to see it..."

Looking at Ken in the bedroom, Donny told her: "He (Ken) just winked at me. He knew you were telling me a story."

"Did he?" Danielle smiled, "Dirty b*****!"

A starkers Ken Russell? Well, you certainly don't see that everyday...

Day 2, 00:19
It hasn't taken Big Brother long to put its foot down.
After launching himself into the pool, staggering from sofa to sofa and pulling that confused face you only find in pubs after 11pm, Donny's first night in the House so far has been pretty eventful.

But now he's not best pleased. After opening his suitcase Donny discovered that Big Bro had snaffled his secret stash, in accordance with the rules. And because it can.

Donny wasn't going to take this full stop on his fun lightly. Thudding down in the Diary Room chair Donny waited for Big Bro.

"Hello. Helloo?" he called out.

"Hello Donny," came the eventual reply.

"Hey listen. I just got my suitcase and I packed two bottles of red wine," he explained. Red wine? Surely that should have been snakebite and black?

"And I've opened it and it's not in there. What's going down?"

"Big Brother supplies alcohol at Big Brother's discretion," came back the Big man. "As housemates got alcohol this evening Big Brother won't be providing any more."

"I wasn't asking Big Brother to supply any alcohol," replied Donny. "I was supplying my own. So you've taken it?"

"That's correct," confirmed BB.

"Right, nice one lads. Good job," said Donny, leaving.

Coming into the bedroom, Donny couldn't be put off the scent. "Anyone got any booze?" he ventured, hopefully.

"No," said Jo, shaking her head.

"You're on your own matey," said Leo. A lone wolf in the House already? Who'd have thought it..

Day 2, 03:34
It's a restless night for at least one housemate.
Jetlagged, restless and sharing his pit with Donny, Leo can't sleep. So in a bid to stave off his first-night insomnia, Leo heads for the Diary Room for a late-night chat with Big Bro.

Gallant Leo stepped into the breach to save Jo the first-night blushes of having to share a bed with Donny. Leo offered to share a bed with the rocker so Jo didn't have to, but he was soon regretting it.

"I can't sleep," he announced to Big B. "I've got a naked man in my bed. It makes it difficult. I'm not used to it in my daily activities. I'd love to be in my own bed, but the look on poor Jo's face was so sad."

Story continues below

"Donny's alright, he's a pussycat. But seeing him sprawled out in the bed stark naked isn't a very good prospect."

"Are you regretting it?" asked Big Brother sympathetically.

"No, I think it's a good decision. But when you get a young naked rock Adonis in your bed, it isn't good."

Looking hopeful, Leo looked up. "Can I sleep here? The silence is great," he asked, waiting for Big Bro to

inevitably turn down his request.

"Have you got one word to describe how you're feeling?" asked BB.

"Knackered," laughed Leo. "Ken snores. There's this endless buzzing from dear Ken, but what can you do? Oh, and Donny chats in his sleep. It's a very strange thing, a naked man talking to himself in your bed. It doesn't annoy me, but it's not a very inviting prospect."

We predict 'pyjamas for Donny' as a Diary Room request later on...

I sure did and Im gonna vote for her I know first hand how it feels to be a bollywood princess who is an international star outside the uk trapped inside the big brother house :rotfl:

The launch of Channel 4's Celebrity Big Brother series proved a hit, attracting 7.1 million viewers.
The early figures were the second best for any of the five series launches, with viewing peaking at eight million and a 32% audience share.

The second episode of BBC duet talent show Just the Two of Us saw its viewers fall from 5.4 to 3.9 million.

Bookmaker Ladbrokes has former S Club singer Jo O'Meara and singer Leo Sayer as joint favourites to win Big Brother.

Former A-Team member Dirk Benedict, who predicted the experience would be a "nightmare", is joint third favourite.

Channel 4 also launched the third series of Desperate Housewives on Wednesday, screening two episodes back-to-back.

OPENING ODDS

Jo O'Meara 5/1
Leo Sayer 5/1
Dirk Benedict 6/1
Ian "H" Watkins 6/1
Cleo Rocos 8/1
Ken Russell 12/1
Shilpa Shetty 12/1
Donny Tourette 16/1
Danielle Lloyd 20/1
Jermaine Jackson 20/1
Carol Malone 25/1
Source: Ladbrokes

The first instalment was watched by 3.6 million, which fell to 2.8 million for the second episode at 2230 GMT.

A Channel 4 spokesman said: "We are delighted that both shows, scheduled together as a post-holiday treat for Channel 4 viewers, were so warmly welcomed by TV audiences to give us a fantastic start to 2007."

Film director Ken Russell made a spectacular entrance to Celebrity Big Brother, dressed in a garish waistcoat and bellowing out a rendition of Singing in the Rain.

The 79-year-old, who said he was a "huge fan" of the show, needed assistance to walk down the steps into the house.

Benedict, who also starred in Battlestar Galactica, made a dramatic entrance, arriving in a replica A-Team van, smoking a large cigar to cheers from the crowds.

Donny Tourette, of punk band The Towers of London, exchanged insults with the crowd, while model Danielle Lloyd was met with boos.

Other contestants include Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, ex-Steps star Ian "H" Watkins, Kenny Everett Show actress Cleo Rocos and newspaper columnist Carole Malone.
George Galloway attracted criticism for his exploits last year

History of celebrity version

Some of the press have already labelled the line-up "nobodies" and "wrinklies".

Votes from viewers will decide which stars are ejected during the series, which is expected to last a month.

Each celebrity will nominate a charity and the money raised during the voting process will be split equally between the organisations.

In last year's show, eventual winner Chantelle Houghton had been "planted" as a non-celebrity but proved the most popular contestant.

Day 2, 14:14
It's only Day Two, but the air is already thick with the stench of conspiracy.
Or at least, it is around Ian.

Last night during a midnight chat, Ian made noises that something was probably afoot in Big Brother land.

Something mysterious, something not very nice.

Really, Ian? What could you mean?

And earlier today in the bedroom, while Danielle was unpacking, Ian wondered on the bed: "There has to be a secret room here somewhere."

"Really?" replied Danielle.

"I'm sure there's a twist," he said.

After lunch, suspicion had spread to Jo.

"Everyone's cool. It's too easy. I don't trust it," she said.

"They have to put a cat among the pigeons," agreed Ian.

"They'll bring in a bitch or something," Jo continued. "I think they'll give us three or four days to bond. And then ******* it all up."

Jo, would Big Brother do such a thing?

"Yeah, it is too easy," added Donny. "What's gonna be the shake up? They're plotting something."

Our lips are sealed, Donny.

Day 2, 15:36
You wouldn't think a four-letter name could cause such mayhem.
Shilpa and Jo were two starlets divided by a common language this afternoon, as the pair tried to establish the correct way to pronounce Dirk's name.

We suggest 'Dirk' to rhyme with 'work', but hey...

"What are they laughing at?" Jo asked Shilpa as they listened to Dirk and Carol in the kitchen.

"They're saying I pronounce Dirk's name as duck," giggled Shilpa. "Dirk? Duck? Deuck?" she said.

"Dirk?" repeated Jo.

"Duck?" said Shilpa as the two fell about.

"It sounds like you call him Duck," laughed Jo.

"Duck Benedict. It sounds like a dish," chuckled Shilpa. "I don't call him Duck, I call him Deuck."

"Duck?" repeated Jo again.

"Jermaine," called Shilpa, corralling the Jackson into the fray. "How do you say 'Dirk'?"

"Dirk," he replied.

"See, he says it the same way."

"You say Duck?" asked Jo.

"Dirk? Duck?" repeated Jermaine sounding out the options, before drawling: "Oh, Dirrrrk."

Hearing his name, Dirk's ears pricked up and he looked at the women quizzically.

"We're doing name pronunciations. Dirk," explained Shilpa, before her and Jo repeated his name, one Mumbai, one Romford.

"I like yours better," chose Dirk. "I like accents."

"But how do you say it?" said Shilpa.

"It's got a hard R," confirmed Dirk. Wonder if he rolls his Rs too...

I watched the launch last night, and most of them i haven't even heard of! I'm not sure if i will get into Celeb Big Brother this year judging on first impressions. The only celebs i recognised going in was H from Steps and Jo who used to be in S Club 7. The other celebs haven't really heard of. Danielle seems like this year's "Jodie Marsh" so i don't particularly like her so far. Also that Donny guy who is in a band called "Towers of London" which i have never heard of, seems really cocky, arrogant and immature too so i'm not really liking him! The others i don't really mind and i will have to watch them more to get an opinion on them.

Ken Russel going in singing "Singing In The Rain" was really funny, i was laughing so much! :D

Jo is my favourite in there so far as i used to like S Club 7 and she was my favourite one in the band. :o

Jo isn't impressed to hear herself coming over the airwaves...
Former S Clubber Jo lost her famous flow when one of the band's old tunes blared across the House tonight.

Rather than reach for the stars, the embarrassed singer opted to flee the room instead!

The housemates had just been let out of the bedroom to discover an array of delicious food and drink when the familar cheese of S Club 7's 'Reach for the Stars' started to play - much to Jo's embarrassment.

Story continues below

The tune sent most of those present into a bopping frenzy, and they encouraged Jo to embrace her days as part of the pop juggernaut.

"Come on Jo! Perform!" urged Shilpa.

But the singer was not pleased. Clutching a beer, she stomped over to the sofa. A procession of housemates danced over to the blonde lass, subjecting her to an array of malcoordinated moves designed to entice her to join in.

"Come on Jo!" urged Ian. "No! This is the real me" she barked back, surveying the scene of flailing limbs reaching up above.

As the song came to an end, she let off a blast to Big Brother: "I don't know what you've done that for."

"Who's next, I wonder?" pondered Dirk as the House was treated to suspenseful silence. His question was quickly answered as Leo's 'Thunder In My Heart' pumped out across the room.

Hearing one of his own tracks certainly made Leo feel like dancing, as he leapt up from the sofa with pure delight, proclaiming "it's the new one!" He treated onlookers to a song and dance routine that rolled back the years. Even Donny couldn't surpress a big grin.

Day 3, 09:45
It's been a hard day's night. And fingers are being pointed.
As housemates began to stir in the bedroom this morning, Danielle wasted no time in confronting chief rumbler Ken.

"Ken, I haven't been to sleep," she called across to him.

"Why?" he enquired, looking well-rested.

"Your snoring. I had to get up at five in the morning."

"I shall definitely see Big Brother," resolved Ken.

"I spoke to him already," replied a down-in-the-mouth Danielle.

"What did he say?" asked Ken, hopefully.

"He said to speak to you."

"Maybe we can get one of those plaster things for your nose," suggested Cleo, from her bed on the floor.

"I'd be delighted," agreed Ken, before turning to Shilpa. "Shall I get one for you too?"

The actress looked startled. "Last night, I came in here last and you were fast asleep," said Ken to Danielle, before pointing at Carole. "And you were snoring. And Shilpa was snoring." Busted.

"I snore when I'm really tired and my nose is clogged. But I didn't snore," the actress pleaded. But Ken wasn't having any of it. "You kept me awake for an hour."

"But you kept me awake the night before!" she retorted.

"It was explosive last night, Ken," said Carole, coming to Shilpa's aid.

"It was like a volcano," added Danielle.

Another night of this and it'll be tempers that start erupting.

"We still love you, Uncle Ken. It's okay," calmed Cleo.

Ken grabbed his towel and made for the bathroom, announcing: "I'm going to blow my nose now. I apologise if it was minging."

But Shilpa pressed on, possibly appeasing her own guilt.

"Leo, can you comment on Uncle Ken's snoring?"

"D flat," he replied, then paused. "Actually, I heard you snoring!"

A nighttime wall of sound in stereo... wonder if a third could strike up a melody?

Donny Tourette has escaped from the Big Brother house by scaling the garden fence, after just 48 hours inside.
The singer with punk band the Towers of London left the house on Friday night after refusing to act as a servant to fellow contestant Jade Goody.

Jade, a former Big Brother star, entered the celebrity version with her mum Jackiey and boyfriend Jack Tweedy.

Donny was one of eight celebrities forced to wait on Jade, her family and three other contestants.

They were moved into Victorian-style servants' quarters in a separate section of the house following a vote, allowing the other contestants to live in luxury.

Breach of rules

A spokeswoman for Big Brother confirmed Donny's departure from the house, saying a full statement would be made later.

According to the programme's rules, making contact with the outside world is a breach of the rules, resulting in permanent removal from the Big Brother house.

Donny reportedly asked former Steps star Ian 'H' Watkins to help him over the fence, at around 2330 GMT.

Ian then told the housemates: "Donny's just legged it over the fence! He said he's not waiting on Jade! He's gone!", the show's website reported.

Earlier, the housemates had been instructed to choose three people to remain in the house.

Director Ken Russell, former Jackson 5 member Jermaine Jackson and Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty were picked to live in luxury.

Jade and her family, who arrived late on Friday night, also joined the three stars in the main house.

Their arrival marks the first time a family has entered the Big Brother household.

Mother-of-two Jade came fourth in the 2002 series of Big Brother, but has since become the most successful contestant of all time.

Some of the press have already labelled the line-up "nobodies" and "wrinklies".

urgh...shilpa shetty is an a list star...i would have expected the media to be less ignorant in making comments about her being a nobody just because she doesn't make the papers here and they might not know who she is...there are plenty of people who do know her since bollywood is huge and has been gaining a huge following here. As for wrinklies...face man is the awesomness and the older ones seem to have more character than most of the younger ones.

The servants finally met their new masters for their first time this evening in a very awkward introduction ceremony.

Head butler Carole led her team of servants into the main house - now rebranded "the manor" - to meet the family, who were all sat waiting around the dining table.

For the servants, it was the first time they had re-entered the house since last night and the first time they had come face to face with Jade, Jack and Jackiey.

Carole maintained the character of a strict butler throughout proceedings, beginning by telling the family: "This is the best team of workers you will ever have. They will treat you with the utmost respect and they, of course, expect you to treat them the same."

She then began to read task instructions aloud, including specific details on what each of the servants would be required to do.

Carole insisted on silence throughout, scolding various members of her team when they spoke out of turn.

Even Ken came under fire after he insisted: "I shall be addressed as his lordship," adding - in reference to Leo - "I shall use sign language for the deaf mute."

"Remember what I said at the start about respecting my team?" Carole snapped back, before resuming her announcement.

With the introductions out of the way, the servants began their first meal service.

I know that this is a bit off topic - but the only person in there I dislike is Carol. She always seems to be very nosy, like she's getting the latest scoop for her column in the papers. Besides, after the way she treated Anne on Fit Club I've thought she was so mean.
I'm really dissapointed Donny left, he was my favourite.
Ad despite what everyone else says, i think Jade's family are amazing. Jermaine etc. find their accent irritating, but I love their accents! :D i think they are great fun and will add spice to the show.

Jade Goody's grandparents Sylvia and John will enter the house tonight for a banquet as guests of the Big Brother Manor.

All the servants and family members gathered in the lounge as Carole read aloud from an instruction sheet.

"Dear servants and family members, later today Big Brother will throw a banquet," read the sheet. The family was then told to figure out a menu that Sylvia and John would find palatable.

On the menu will be roast chicken and Cumberland sausages with roast potatoes, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and swede.

Film director Ken Russell has become the second celebrity to leave the Big Brother house in just two days.
He decided to walk out of the Channel 4 show after a row with Jade Goody, who arrived in the house with her boyfriend and mother on Friday night.

Russell, 79, said some of the surprises were "a little too much to take" and called himself a "fuddy duddy".

Rock singer Donny Tourette escaped from the Big Brother compound on Friday after just 48 hours.

Verbal swipe

The cause of the argument between Goody and Russell was the servant task set by the show, in which eight celebrities were told they had to wait on Goody, her family, and three other contestants - including Russell.

A row broke out in which Goody took a verbal swipe at the veteran film-maker for helping himself to food, instead of getting a "servant" to give it to him.

He was a lovely old man - I shall miss him

Carole Malone

The pair called a truce soon after the argument, but he still decided to quit the Channel 4 show.

Grand entrance

He had already threatened to quit this morning after a run-in with Goody's mum Jackiey.

Housemates were told of Russell's departure earlier today, when journalist, Carole Malone was handed a laminate revealing his exit.

Malone said: "He was a lovely old man, I shall miss him."

Russell is the oldest contestant to take part in Big Brother so far.

He made a grand entrance by singing to the cheering crowds outside the house when the show began on Wednesday.

He became well known for making controversial films such as Women in Love and The Devils.

Leo has became the third celebrity to leave the Big brother house.
After a heated arguement with Big Brother in the diary about underwear,Leo stomped to the living room wher most housemates were gathered and said

"I'm leaving the House guys cos Big Brother won't provide me with underwear," he announced

The housemates did not think he was serious but Leo had a dramatic exit where he battered his fist on a two-way mirror.Dirk said
"Don't do anything rash," said Dirk

I'm not," said Leo, grabbing a broom from the kitchen and forcing his way through one of the walls.

"He's gone!" said Ian.

"Everyone's going mad in here," nodded Jo.

"I can't believe he's gone!" said a shocked Danielle

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/40767000/jpg/_40767996_james203other.jpg http://www.tongs.org.uk/files/lauren4.jpg

SEX-swap star Lauren Harries is moving in to the Celebrity Big Brother house today - followed by her mother.

The Welsh transsexual, who found fame in the 1980s as a 10-year-old BOY called James, has been drafted in by BB producers in a desperate bid to boost ratings after three housemates walked out.

Lauren, who underwent sex change surgery in 2001, will be joined in the house on Tuesday by mum Kathleen, 63.

A spokesman for Lauren said last night: "She is in London and preparing to go into the house."

An insider added: "Lauren is a massive fan of the BB and will cause no end of trouble. She's going to get a lot of people's backs up with her behaviour."

In a recent interview Lauren, one of the celebrities originally asked to appear, revealed her peculiar tactics with people she doesn't like.

She said: "I can go into their brains and turn all the taps on so the water floods out of their ears and their nose and mouth. In the end they go insane.

I only do that in a mental way, though. And I'd be a lady doing it."

Lauren, now 28, became a child star in 1988 after appearing on Terry Wogan's BBC chat show, Wogan.

Young James, as she/he was then, wowed audiences with a knowledge of antiques far beyond his years.

James was later dubbed Little Lord Fauntleroy because of his cutglass voice and smart bow ties - that was the title of a TV show about Lauren's life after the sex change.

In the house yesterday, former Steps star Ian "H" Watkins and ex- Jackson Five singer Jermaine were told to form tribute acts to their own bands as their latest task.

Mum-of-two Jade Goody refused to wear her crop-top costume, saying: "I've got stretchmarks. I look like I've been attacked by a shark."

But Jermaine got in to the spirit of the Battle Of The Bands, saying: "You've got to throw it all out there. Those fros (Afro hair cuts) will be fluffing."

HOFF RIDES TO RESCUE FOR £300K

BAYWATCH hunk David Hasselhoff is being offered £300,000 to lure him into the house.
Channel 4 chiefs are desperate to sign him to halt a ratings slide.
An insider said: "The Hoff is a massive character who could really spice things up in the house.
"He's a huge name and he'd make great TV - especially as he's an eye for the ladies. He's a big fan of Danielle Lloyd, saying she looks like Lisa Marie Presley's daughter."
Bosses wanted the 54-year-old ex-Knight Rider star in from the start but wouldn't splash enough cash.
But with viewing figures slumping from seven million on launch night to 4.3mil-lion, they're now ready to pay anything to get their man.

The insider added: "Producers see him as a bargain, whatever the price."

what is the new thing with bringing in their family members??? I think if they just stuck with jade and not the rest of her family too there wouldn't have been so many walkouts since it's her ignorant loud mouth mother who bugged everyone.

I can't bear watching it though since loads of people who remind me of the people on my council estate (trashy wannabe wag girl, jade's bloke etc) seem to be having a go at or about shilpa and it just sort of seems off. Monday 15 January
Day 13, 14:51
There's a surprise in store for the dolled up housemates...

When is a red carpet event, not really a red carpet event? Answer: when the red carpet is covered in sticky gunk that will foil your every step.

Right now, the housemates are getting changed into some terribly snazzy evening wear provided by Big Brother for their latest task - vaguely described as a 'red carpet event'. Yum yum: cocktails and caviar. Or so you'd think...
What the Celebs don't know is they're set to run the gauntlet of Big Brother's Red Carpet assault course. That means negotiating their way through a terrifying gunge-fest in the garden. No cocktails. No caviar.

"Once you're on the red carpet then what happens, do you just stand there?" wondered Jade while squeezing into a black cocktail dress.

.

"Maybe we're going to meet a new housemate," suggested Jo.

"I think this is bidding goodbye," said Shilpa glumly

All wrong. Here's what the housemates will really be getting up to in order to bag a luxury shopping budget this week...

1 Limo - Housemates must all wait in a limousine, ready to run the Red Carpet.

2 VIP Pit - Housemates must first negotiate their way through the perils of the gunge-filled VIP Pit, ducking through the hoops as they go.

3 Champagne Fountain - Housemates must make their way over the champagne fountain being sprayed with sticky water all the way.

4 Shower Of Awards - Housemates must collect a trophy from the lectern by unscrewing it, all the time being gunged from above.

5 Crawl Of Fame - Housemates must crawl through the sticky Hollywood crawl of fame gunge trap.

6 Fan Frenzy - Housemates must stop for autographs by the paparazzi where they'll be squirted with gunge from the camera lenses.

7 Photo Opportunity - At the end of the Red Carpet housemates must pose for pictures with their trophy before the next housemate makes their run.

The group have nine minutes to complete the whole thing - and they're getting ready by applying a ton of make-up and blow-drying their hair.

Well that's gonna be a waste of time...

One thing that strikes me is Jade's other half is getting off very lightly here, he is as big a problem as the girls, more dangerous IMHO, he passes these comments, like, "she should be made live outside" and is getting away with it. I don't like him at all. When those 3 "Celeb" witches get evicted, then TV and radio and newspapers should ignore them, not interview them, then see how they like disappearing into obscurity!! its what they deserve, don't give them airtime.

Chloe O'brien
18-01-2007, 12:28
The difference between Jade and the others is that she is not hiding her hatered for Shilpa she is saying what she has to say and is not bothered if Shilpa hears the nasty comments or not, but Jack and the others are trying to be sneeky with their comments so they can play "oh I'm thick as mince and I wasn't aware I said those things card" and when she comes out on Friday I hope she gets booed you will see the terror in Jack, Jo and Danielles face when they hear the reception she gets, what the little weasels change their attidude towards shilpa.

18-01-2007, 14:32
Carphone Warehouse has suspended sponsorship of Celebrity Big Brother following allegations of racism toward actress Shilpa Shetty on the C4 show.

The company said its sponsorship would be removed from the current series "with immediate effect".

The move follows media watchdog Ofcom's demand that C4 must respond to complaints about 'racist' comments.

"Clearly what is happening is very serious," said Ofcom's chief executive Ed Richards.

A record 30,000 complaints have been made over alleged racist remarks towards Indian actress and Big Brother contestant Shetty.

Three of her fellow housemates have been accused of racist behaviour, with Jade Goody receiving the brunt of the public criticism.

However a spokeswoman for Goody, 25, who had an explosive row with Shetty on Wednesday, has denied she is a racist.

"I would urge anyone who says that Jade is a racist to produce the evidence to support the claim," she said on Thursday.

"I have not heard Jade say anything that could be interpreted as a racist remark."

Ofcom chairman Ed Richards said that "any allegation of racism is very serious".

He said Ofcom will write to Channel 4 shortly but "in the meantime, it is Channel 4's responsibility to respond to very significant viewer concerns."

He added that the watchdog was "taking the matter very seriously and monitoring the situation very, very carefully".

"One can think of other circumstances where people have rushed to judgment and repented at leisure," he added.

He told a media conference in Oxford that the watchdog would not conduct a "kangaroo court".

'Victim'

Shetty spoke for the first time of fears that she is a victim of racism on Wednesday.

She told housemate Cleo Rocos that she feared she was being targeted because of her race.

Rocos, comforting the Bollywood actress following the row over stock cubes, told Shetty: "I don't think there's anything racist in it."

But Shetty said: "It is, I'm telling you."

Reports say Shetty and Goody are to go head-to-head in the next Celebrity Big Brother evictions on Friday, with Goody 1-5 favourite to get the boot.

'Go home'

Contestant Danielle Lloyd has also hit out at the Bollywood star, saying Shetty should just "go home" , adding that "she can't even speak English properly".

In a statement, Channel 4 said there had been "no overt racial abuse or racist behaviour," despite more than 27,000 complaints from the public to media regulator Ofcom and 3,000 directly to the channel.

"Unambiguous racist behaviour and language is not tolerated under any circumstances in the Big Brother house. Housemates are constantly monitored and Channel 4 would intervene if a clear instance of this arose," it said.

However, Channel 4 admitted there had "undoubtedly been a cultural and class clash between her and three of the British females in the house."

However, the explosion of media coverage has seen audience figures rise, with 3.5 million viewers tuning in on Monday, 4.5 million on Tuesday and 5.2 million on Wednesday - equalling the highest figure for this series since the live launch.

The story has made the headlines in India, and a small-scale protest in the eastern Indian city of Patna saw the burning of an effigy of the show's organisers.

Politicians have entered the row, with Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and Jack Straw among those commenting on the programme.

The leader of Unison, the UK's biggest trade union, has attacked Channel 4 over the Big Brother controversy, accusing the station of promoting a "circus of racism" and giving publicity to "louts".

Former England batsman, Geoff Boycott, a friend of Shetty, told the BBC Asian Network that he was not impressed by what he had seen so far.

"It is totally alien to most Asian girls, in particular Shilpa Shetty, who's known in India for being a really nice girl; she's not up her own self; she's not full of herself," he said.

And the National Bullying helpline has reported a rise in phonecalls since the alleged bullying on Celebrity Big Brother.

Jade has told Big Brother that appending "poppadom" to Shilpa's name was not intended as a racist comment.

In scenes to be transmitted tonight on Channel 4, Jade was called to the diary room and asked about a conversation with Danielle in which she called Shilpa 'Shilpa *******awhiler' and 'Shilpa Poppadom'.

"Shilpa Poppadom," Jade reiterated when confronted. "I explained that for the other two trying to get her name out. Her name is not Shilpa Harry or Shilpa Tweed or Shilpa Mackintosh, she is Indian, so will have an Indian name. No racial anything.

"She is Indian, thinking of an Indian name and only thing I could think of was Indian food. Wasn't racial at all. It was not to offend any Indian out there."

Motorcycle insurance company Bennetts has terminated its modelling deal with Danielle.

All trace of Danielle has already been erased from the firm's website.

"Bennetts is strongly opposed to any form of racism and bullying and, in the light of the accusations which have been made against Miss Lloyd, has taken the decision to terminate its arrangements with her with immediate effect," a spokesperson told The Sun.

"Bennetts will no longer use Miss Lloyd for any promotional activities and will remove all promotional pictures and press materials featuring her from its website."

Jade hasn't got a hope in hell in winning this she will be out tomorrow night. and Jo, Danielle and Jack are going to do some serious brown-nosing (sucking up) to shilpa if they are to salvage anything from their time in the house. Even if any of them were intentionally being racist, which I don't think they were. they still made comments and that is enough.

Todays Mirror has published and interview with C4s Chief Executive with their views on what he said andwhat he meant

WHAT HE SAID: The level of complaint and comment shows the programme has touched a real nerve.

WHAT HE MEANT: Oh *******. We've p***** off everyone from Bermondsey to Bombay.

WHAT HE SAID: The debate has been heated but it's unquestionably a good thing the programme has raised these issues.

WHAT HE MEANT: Jade is a nutter and a good thing too because it has raised our ratings.

WHAT HE SAID: These attitudes, however distasteful, do persist. We need to confront that truth.

WHAT HE MEANT: Jade, Danielle and Jo are thick and racist. We need to exploit that.

WHAT HE SAID: What constitutes racism is a complex question.

WHAT HE MEANT: I'm totally out of my depth here.

WHAT HE SAID: Producers spoke to Shilpa who said she didn't feel behaviour towards her was racist.

WHAT HE MEANT: They begged her not to walk out because if she stays, she's going to win and that'll make us look good. And, luckily, she doesn't know what they've been saying behind her back.

WHAT HE SAID: The latest series has strayed into controversial territory - the issue of racism and whether or not it remains ingrained in British attitudes.

WHAT HE MEANT: The series was tanking. Thank God somebody thought to put someone from India in with three thick chavs with chips on their shoulders.

WHAT HE SAID: I'm not ashamed of what was broadcast.

WHAT HE MEANT: I'm a total pleb with no shame or dignity.

It's disgusting the way Ch4 are now trying to paint a rosy picture. Its blatantly obvious that the producers have had a word and are on a damage limitation exercise. Too little too late i am afraid. The damage has been done and it will be interesting to see the reactions in the days after they come out of the house. Get ready for headlines such as:

"I'm not racist. I love curries"
"I'm not racist. My best friend is black"

But you know what gets me - its headline news last night, in front of people being killed by the storms - its the topic of discussion on Question Time last night. This isn't the most important thing in our lives!

No one bothered with Jodie Marsh when she was suffering bullying, no one helped any other housemates in the past when they were bullied, and no one said anything about Jermaine calling Jackiey white trailer trash, so why is it so different because its Shilpa thats having the same treatment? I do find what has happened disgusting, what should the public do - turn off the blooming programme and stop watching. Doesn't it make it just as bad for us to be watching whats going on? Why doesn't everyone stop watching, rather than tuning in to see the bullying going on?

It was the opening topic on QT last night which made me laugh. There is a underlying problem of racism in this country but it shouldn't have made headline news because three uneducated chavs can't differentiate between right and wrong.

The fact that its so blatant what they are doing against Shilpa is why its been highlighted so quickly. I can assure you that comments most people wouldn't regard as racist are very quickly picked on by ethnic minorities as they are used having sly racist digs thrown at them hence the furore.

But I agree. The best way to get this filth off the television is to press the off button. But in a society brainwashed by celebrity and reality television that isn't going to happen.

Edit: This is the cynic in me, but I believe that the Government have a vested interest in keeping crap like this going. Any one familiar with Chomsky will know one of his main arguments is crap like this keeps people away from politics and current affairs, effectively brainwashing the people and the government being able to get away with most things. Can you imagine if all the young people following BB were interested in politics and taxes?

Supporters of Jade Goody are to meet up this Saturday 20th jan 2007 at 11am outside Bermondsey tube station where they will be voicing their support of Big Brother contestant Jade Goody. Effigy's of Shilpa Shetty will be burned, in a protest against allegations of racism, which the supporters of Jade Goody believe are totally unfounded.
Mark McGowan one of Saturdays event organisers said, 'everyone in south London is behind Jade. i think what they are doing is wrong Jade is a good person and is in no way racist, we support Jade 100%, Shilpa Shetty is manipulative and is tricking everyone, she is the cause of all this trouble. We are going to burn the effigy's in protest, Simon Ould another of our group is making them tonight. We want everyone from Bermondsey to turn out and show their support for Jade'

for those who think there are more important things I think you're underestimating just what racism does in this country and how it effects people. Yes they are just 3 thick cows but this goes on in real life too you know, it's just swept under the carpet because this country is so keen to keep up a facade and the rest happens in private. So what if it took a reality show to highlight just what goes on in places like my council estate, at least now people can't deny that there is racism in this country. Why do you think so many of us picked up on it...we can't be denied now, something has to be done to sort this out in society. You know I was at the bus stop and this old woman was being picked on for being a p***, how many people did something before I came along...NO ONE...why do you think that was?? They didn't care or want to get involved...it just doesn't matter to them, maybe they didn't think it was wrong, maybe they were spineless, who knows. At least with this something is being done...something MORE should be done to show people that this kind of behaviour CANNOT be swept under the carpet anymore and they cannot get away with it anymore.

A chat in Nowhere can get you everywhere...

Newsflash! Jade and Shilpa have made up!

The 25-year old instigated the peace talks, which took the form of an extended one-to-one in Nowhere. She started by acknowledging that Shilpa must have been affected by her outburst during Tuesday's great stock cube debate:

"I know that what has happened has not been nice for you... and a lot of stuff got said the other day from you and from myself," she began.

Referring to her use of the term 'Shilpa Poppadom', Jade took great lengths to explain that nothing malicious was behind it: "I didn't say it in a racial way... I do not judge people by the colour of their skin."

"I know that," replied a calm Shilpa. "I don't think you're racist."

"I appreciate you saying that - it does mean a lot," said Jade.

But diplomacy is rarely easy - and as the pair sifted through their exact words during Tuesday's row, tempers momentarily threatened to ignite once more.

"If somebody is going to keep calling me fake, it's bound to hurt me," stressed the actress.

When Jade said the suggestion that she needed elocution lessons really wound her up, Shilpa had to correct her: "I didn't say elocution. I said etiquette."

"It's obvious we don't get on," said Jade, citing "different backgrounds".

"There is definitely a culture clash," agreed Shilpa, who then took the high ground saying: "You said more nasty things about me than what I said about you."

With inroads slowly being made, Jade pointed the finger at herself for letting events escalate on that night: "I was angry of the fact that I'd let you make me get so angry over a cube!"

After giggling over how trivial it all was, the pair agreed that it was sad the House had become divided. "I don't want the awkwardness anymore," remarked Jade.

Then, at precisely 7.50pm and 40 seconds, it happened. Jade uttered the immortal words "I'm sorry," and lunged in for a hug. Yes - A HUG!

Smiling, they joked that they are unlikely to be best friends, but were pleased to dispel any bad feelings.

"I really appreciate that you took the first step," smiled Shilpa. And with that, the pair walked into the House to report their armistice.

Dirk applauded, Ian launched into a rendition of 'Love Is In The Air', and all seemed well in Celebrity Big Brother House.

I still tink we should stick them in the big brother house then not actually show it. Produce a documentary then see how they feel when people realise no one cares about them.

Jade Speaks Out
Friday 19 January
Day 17, 13:05
The Londoner reveals her fears...
Jade has admitted that she's far more scared of being evicted tonight than she ever was in her previous Big Brother incarnation.

A week of tension and allegations comes to a head in just a few hours and Jade is fearing possible rejection - and a backlash.

"I'm nervous about being booted out," she told Big Brother in the Diary Room. "It was different four years ago because I had nothing to lose. Now I'm a known person and there are people that like me. I've got a fan base and I'm scared of being rejected."

What worries the Bermondsey girl most is being perceived as a racist, an issue on which she tried to set the record straight.

"I said something regarding Shilpa's surname that I think may have caused offence to people outside," she said. "It wasn't meant in a racist way at all and it worries me that people may think of me as a racial person that makes racial comments. I never would, I've not been brought up like that."

Jade says the Bollywood star is on her side, but she's not sure if everyone will be.

She continued: "Shilpa says she knows I'm not racist, but the press have a lot of power and if they want to print I'm racial.. that could influence a lot of people and I could be evicted for the wrong reasons."

"Fair enough if people vote me out because they don't like me, but if it's because they think I'm a racist b**** I'll be worried about walking out - because that's not me."

I still say all of this was helped by C4 themselves, as Jade would've been given the boot or at least reprimanded after the first couple of comments.
As for the other members, why didn't they stand up to Jade?????? It's not as though they never had voices to say "CAN IT!" but no one did. Says alot about those not goading Jade by sitting with her and witchin about someone else.

BULLY Jade Goody has REFUSED to be interviewed by police probing the racist row in the Celeb Big Brother house.

Detectives have made repeated attempts to speak to Jade, 25, over her treatment of Shilpa.

But her agent wouldn’t let officers see her after her eviction last Friday and she has snubbed Hertfordshire Police attempts ever since.

A police source said: “She’s apologising left, right and centre on TV.

“But she isn’t cooperating with us which makes us think her apologies are rather hollow. We just want to get to the bottom of everything and that means speaking to Jade as well as Jo, Danielle and Shilpa.”

Meanwhile, BB bosses said this summer’s show would be toned down in the wake of the row.

Channel 4 chief Andy Duncan spoke of “important creative and tonal challenges about where Big Brother goes next”.

He said: “We can’t not take what happened into account in the way we think about Big Brother 8.” Mr Duncan admitted the show had appeared slow to react to the bullying — but said no one would be sacked.

Oh Dear so now the talentless chav thinks she is above the law. Lets hope an arrest follows soon:nono: :readtheru

I agree. If they hadn't done that to her, then i doubt that she would have won. Which kind of puts the wrong kind of message across- that you can be bullied, and discriminated, but good will always come out of it. Most people who are bullied/discriminated against suffer in silence, but because this happened in the public eye, she wins. It just shows the gap between real life and so called "celebrity", i guess.

I've got nothing against her though. I think she deserved to do well, its just not putting the best message across IMO. Pleased she beat Danielle though.

BULLY JADE GOODY'S INDIA TRIP

SHAMED Jade Goody has finally made her trip to India after her racist bullying of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty on Celebrity Big Brother.

In what many see as a cynical ploy to try to rebuild her shattered career, Jade has claimed she "wants to meet the Indian people".

The Z-list "celebrity" said yesterday: "I'm out here on a private visit, for four days. I like the food here. Everyone knows I love an Indian."

Jade, 25, has left boyfriend Jack Tweed, 19, and sons Freddy, two, and Bobby, three, at home and is staying in a £190-a-night room at the luxury Le Meridien in Delhi.

She said: "People have been really nice out here. It's private and there are no cameras or anything. I've paid for the trip myself. That's all I want to say."

During the Channel 4 show, Jade called the Indian actress "Shilpa Poppadom" and told her to "go back to the slums".

Angry protests at the time in India had threatened to derail Chancellor Gordon Brown's trip there.

But asked if she got recognised on the street yesterday, the former dental nurse, said: "Yeah, yeah, but people are being so nice." Jade's agent Catherine Lister said: "It's private, funded by Jade herself and not in association with any newspapers or magazines."

Jade, who was invited to Delhi by tourism chiefs, had grovelled on Indian TV last month: "I'd like to approach the Indian people face-to-face and apologise for all the pain and hurt I have caused them." (and try to save my ailing career)
But government officials did not want her to go because they would have to offer protection.

Jade, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara sparked more than 40,000 complaints to media regulator Ofcom about their treatment of Shilpa, who went on to win CBB.

Jo is reported to have attempted suicide  and Danielle has lost modelling contracts.

Jade's perfume and autobiography were binned and she has been dropped by Comic Relief.:D
