Best soap for storylines of 2006

Ahhh and another year in soapland has passed us by, but what did we think of the storylines in the soaps? Which soap overall had the best storylines of the year.
Maybe they had few, your soap of choice or maybe they had one major stoyline that wins it for them.

I went for Home & Away. Sure the storylines were probably cheesy, but that what's make them really good.
In 2006 there was the whole Zoe/Eve thing which was just great. The Believers was another great storyline in 2006. Flynn dying, was really sad, and well done. Amongst a whole lot of other stuff.

Have to agree Lea.. Home and Away had me gripped all this year.. fantastic storylines

for me it was either Home and Away or Hollyoaks, but i went for Hollyoaks in the end as i feel it has been a great year, and Home and Away is constantly good Hollyoaks really stood out. It has had some good long running storylines but we didnt get bored as smaller ones were running through. All the fire scenes and special effects were great wih the car crash, and there were funny ones like with the McQueens and sad ones with deaths.s

Enjoyed parts of Eastenders and Emmerdale, and Corrie was brilliant this year, but Hollyoaks had the best sets of storylines this year, Chris has finally converted me to a fantastic soap!

I only mainly watch EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street, so I had to go for Emmerdale. They managed a great storyline with the Tom/Sadie kidnapping, with plenty of twists, followed by the Tom King murder. I thought they handled the Alice cancer storyline realistically, as well.

i had to go for home and away the whole year was filled with storyline after storyline.eg alf going to prison, chloes death, flynns cancer, the believers, tashas pregnancy, joshs murder, the barn fire, the helicopter crash, matildas eating disorder, kims assault charge, macca and cassie, reunion of mother and daughter belle and amanda, lees pregnancy to a teacher the list goes on

It was a tough choice they were brilliant storylines that had me fripped through 06, but for me it was just that Hollyoaks had bit more realism. Home and Away was one brilliant disastor to another. Nut i agree it was a great 06/

i went for hollyoaks just cos i think its had a great year and had some really good storylines, such as graces death, the fire in the dog, the whole rape story with andy to name a few. the only other soap i watch properly is ee and although its had a few good storylines this year i dont think its been anywhere near as good as hollyoaks. i watch neighbours occassionally too but not really enough to have voted for it

Hollyoaks, BaBy Grace storyline, The date rape and dog in the pnd fire were all great storylines last year

It had to be Hollyoaks really! They never fail with a good storyline. When they promise a brilliant and firey exit they never break their promise! Unlike other soaps! They have storylines which are exciting or emotional! Its just a brilliant soap!

I was torn between Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, but i only started watching Hollyoaks just before the fire at The Dog so i haven't really watched it for the full year so i went with Emmerdale. It's had some fantastic storylines this year. Alice's cancer, The house collapse, Cain kidnapping Sadie and Tom, and most recently, Tom's death. But Hollyoaks comes a close second, despite me only watching it since September, i am actually gripped to this. The Dog fire was excellent, as was the Max/Claire storyline and Becca in court too.

Got to be Hollyoaks, been watching it for years now and this is probably the best year ever they totally deserve some awards at the soap awards this year, with Andy/Sam rape storyline, Baby Grace, Clare/Max, and The Dog in the pond explosion, it has been a very evenful year.

i went for doctors think this is a brilliant soap with a lot of good storylines and it is funny and the actors are really good
