after a incident last night when on a night out we had to help someone who had collapsed in the street, i felt i should wrte to warn about drinking.... i know its christmas and everyone wants to have fun (i was on my christmas do in manchester), but please, please be careful......

this girl last night, turned blue and passed out - we though her drink had been spiked, but on arrival at hospital it turned out she had too much beer and too little food. her friend was sturggleing with her so much and could not move her. its a good job we stopped instad of someone else...

if you are going out...
remember to

watch your drinks - xmas is the most popular time for spiking
if your are drinking, EAT beofre you leave - we made sure we had a big meal last night as we knew we would be out a long time
drink in moderation - its not big or clever to get trashed so you cant remember how you got home or who the stranger next to you is
stick together, IT IS NEVER EVER A GOOD IDEA TO GO HOME ALONE - EVEN IF YOU ARE UNWELL - make your friends escort you to a licenced taxi
stay safe xxx merry christmas

feel free to add any safety tips xxx

Not a tip, but was the girl okay?

Although even when with friends, still watch your drink. As there was an incident near me, where a guys mates spiked his drink, as they thought it would be a laugh.... he's lucky to be alive. So just watch them. Use those bottle caps if you have a bottle.

i hope the girls ok as well. It happens such a lot these days. Especially in Manchester i was out the other night and the amount of people i saw ill with too much booze or what have you, i was quite shocked. you just have to be really careful and always look out for one another.

the girl was fine - she did go to hosp and they did tests but it was a case of too much beer on a empty stomach

Hint for this.. if drinking from a bottle, put you thumb in the top so nothing can be dropped in it. Never leave a drink unattended and if you do, leave it, Do NOT drink from it, buy yourself a fresh drink

I really hope that girl is ok

Always take your drink with you.

Try and drink a soft drink every once in a while over the duration of the night.

Stick in groups.

Always book a taxi before you go out to pick you up at a time and place so you don't have to wait in the cold and get pestered by wierdos.
Never get in a taxi alone. If your mates live in different places all crash at one persons house then the last person isn't left in a taxi alone. You can request a female driver is you wish.
Go to the toilet in twos then if you get seperated from the rest of the group you won't be alone.
Always make sure your phone is charged up and has credit.
Never go home alone with a bloke you have just met or don't know.
Don't flash your phone around. You're an easy target for a mugging. And only take as much cash with you as you need.

Have a great Christmas everybody and stay safe
