At the request of a certain member of the forums (clue: it was jude), here is another conspiracy theory for you involving the Titanic :D

Back when Titanic was around, it also had a 'sister ship' called the Olympic. The Olympic was almost identical to the Titanic in every way exept for a few small differences.

One day when the Olympic was out on a journey, it was coming into the dock and it collided with a harbour boat, causing a large amount of damage which would be very costly to repair for the ship's owners, White Star Line.

The Olympic had not been a very successful ship since it's launch as it had had many disasters at sea and some people even said it was cursed.

White Star Line was already in a bit of financial trouble around this time and that it when they came up with a plan to claim alot of insurance money and continue making alot of money from the Olympic.

They swapped the Olympic round with the Titanic. Changing all the little details and then sending out the battered Olympic out on Titanic's maiden voyage instead of the actual Titanic.

The plan was that the 'Olympic' would be deliberatley sunk near a point where a lifeboat had been prearranged to be. The ship would sink, the passengers would be saved, White Star Line would pick up a large payout from the insurers and continue to make money from the Titanic.

Obviously things didn't go quite to plan but the basic plan was pulled off.

If that's true then where's the titanic now?

If it's true, then the Olympic is lying at the bottom of the ocean and the Titanic has probably been got rid of by now.

If i owned two boats, one with major problems, and one brand new one that was capable of earning a lot of money for me, why would sinking the broken one and then having to get rid of the nice new one inconspicuosly, be better for me financially than using the good one to bring in loads of revenue? Especially at the expense of so many lives?

Thats what i meant. They used the titanic to make them lots of money as the olympic but it wont still be inservice, over 80 years later so it has probably been got rid of.

I read about another conspiracy theory about the Titanic. Aparently somebody wrote a book 80 years before the titanic sunk about a ship that sunk in the middle of the ocean, on its maiden voyage, killed thosands of people, as it didn't have enough life boats

The ship was called the TITAN......... wierd or what?
