EXCLUSIVE: JOSH QUITS CASUALTY
TV stabbing after 15 yrs
By Jon Wise
CASUALTY legend Ian Bleasdale is quitting - after 15 dramatic years as paramedic Josh Griffiths.
Mild-mannered Josh will be STABBEDin a Christmas episode of the hit BBC1 soap.
But the producers refuse to reveal whether he dies or is saved by colleagues. Ian, 51, shocked show bosses when he announced he was leaving the series in its 20th anniversary year.
He has told friends he is simply tired of his role and looking for new challenges. Ian has already filmed his emotional final scenes at Casualty's Bristol studios.
A show spokesman said: "He has been involved in some dramatic storylines. The Christmas episode is no exception."
Ex-teacher Ian first joined Casualty for a few episodes but stayed on - becoming one of TV's most popular stars.
