ITV1 producers are hoping to launch a new show along the lines of the BBC's Crimewatch UK.

The programme, titled Manhunt, will try to capture 10 of the country's most wanted criminals. It will be fronted by newsreader Mark Austin and GMTV host Sarah Heaney.

Developers, working with the Crimestoppers charity, want Manhunt to be a presented-live mixture of reconstructions, CCTV footage and anti-crime advice.

A 90-minute pilot is due to be screened in early December, according to The Sun, with a series possibly following next year.

“The cases have been selected as some of the UK’s hardest to find individuals who have so far evaded arrest," commented an ITV spokeswoman. "Police have warned that in some instances they could be a serious danger to the public and all need to be caught.”

Yes i think they did try this before..but i think it was just a one-off documentary. This programme should be good for ITV though, and hopefully it will be a success for them.

Nah, I'm thinking of a short series of them....I think thingy Nightingale presented it...the newsreader..can't think of her name :rotfl:

It depends on the format they put it in....but with the success of Crimewatch, catching more of these scumbags can only be a good thing
