BARBARA Windsor broke her wrist and sprained an ankle while getting her breakfast from a BBC catering van.

The EastEnder, who plays Peggy Mitchell, tumbled during filming of Pauline Fowler’s funeral.

She came a cropper on slippery steps leading up to the egg-and-bacon canteen. But the former Carry On star, 69, bravely battled the pain to finish her scenes before going for an x-ray.

A source said: “Babs has had a bit of a fright. She’s wearing a splint for the next two weeks.

“A surgeon will then decide if it has to go in plaster. Babs is in a lot of pain. She was only going for her breakfast.”

The accident happened during shooting at Hendon, North London.

Babs has also broken an ankle. She fell down stairs at home after being diagnosed with Epstein-Barr Virus — a form of ME.

A Beeb spokesman said: “Barbara is not filming and we wish her a speedy recovery.”

Of course I'm only joking sorry I don't hate her that much but I will need to watch EE after Pauline's funeral for a few episodes, at least we know she won't be in them.:D

i bet the ambulnce chasers are all trying to phone her now,her solicitor will be filling out her claim forms nd the licence payers will be jibbing to pay her for pain and suffering,she'll probably take an exotic holidy on her payout

i want to know how you can break and sprain your ankle at the same time unless shes done on on her left and one on her right.

Your right though Alan it is a pity it wasnt her Jaw.

have to agree with you allen,she wont need to work again if she sues the bbc for her injurys,we all get what we want babs gets a load of money,we get rid of peggy,everyones a winner,except the mitchell fans,but she must be getting near retiement anyway

I wonder if they will have to write in her 'injuries' if she has to wear a cast and how..
