The 10 stars of this year's run of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! will be shown entering their jungle hideaway when the reality series begins later.
Singer Jason Donovan is favourite to win at bookmakers Ladbrokes and William Hill, with David Gest, the estranged husband of Liza Minnelli, least likely.
Producers have promised there will be tougher "bushtucker trials" this year.
Former contestant Uri Geller said viewers would enjoy all the "suffering, arguing, starving, bickering" involved.
"The mixture of the celebrities is massively important for ratings," the entertainer told BBC Radio Five Live.
"The masses out there, they are so curious. They love seeing them going through psychological and mental stress - and this is what makes this programme so successful," he added.
Flurry of bets
Donovan and Gest will be competing against DJ Toby Anstis, fashion designer Scott Henshall and singer Matt Willis, formerly a member of boy band Busted.
She has got her second wind and is making headway in the betting

Willis is the second favourite with both bookmakers, followed by ex-Hear'Say singer Myleene Klass.
Ladbrokes said there had been a late flurry of bets on comedian Faith Brown, known for her impression of former prime minister Lady Thatcher.
"She has got her second wind and is making headway in the betting," said spokesman Nick Weinberg said.
"She could emerge as the dark horse."
Lauren Booth, the sister-in-law of current prime minister Tony Blair, is also among the contestants.
And former newsreader Jan Leeming and Footballers' Wives actress Phina Oruche complete the list of 10.
The programme begins on Monday on ITV1 at 2100 GMT.
I wonder what the studio animal is this year. It said in the newspaper they have the biggest animal they can get and it weighs a ton. I was thinking a croc/aligator but then I thought it wouldn't really be safe. :hmm:

Ex-newsreader Jan Leeming has cried after being bitten by ants on the first "bushtucker trial" of reality show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
She wailed after being lowered down a mine shaft and told to grapple with rats and toads for points which would earn meals for the 10 participants.
But she failed the task, leaving some of her fellow contestants lacking food.
Producers have promised there will be tougher "bushtucker trials" in this new series of the ITV1 show.
Meanwhile Lemming's fellow contestant David Gest, estranged husband of Liza Minnelli, has wasted no time in insulting his fellow celebrities.
'Ironing board face'
He revealed he was furious with Tony Blair's sister-in-law Lauren Booth for saying he had an "ironing board face" in a pre-series interview.
As a result, he insulted her during a conversation with DJ Toby Anstis - with whom Gest sang a karaoke duet of You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' by the Righteous Brothers.
David Gest went from 33/1 to 16/1 in a few hours at Ladbrokes
Gest also made suggestive remarks about impressionist Faith Brown and singer Myleene Klass in their Australian jungle hideaway.
And he bragged about his famous friends, claiming to have warned pop star Michael Jackson he had undergone too much plastic surgery.

"He's doing something right, although we're not sure what," said Nick Weinberg of Ladbrokes.
Leeming - who admitted she had never seen the show before agreeing to appear on it - fetched three stars out of the 10 which were hidden down the mine shaft.
However, she dropped one on the way back up, meaning only two meals were served to the contestants on their first day on the ITV1 programme.
Despite the list of demands that suggested David Gest didn't know what he was getting himself into by joining the I'm A Celebrity... line-up, Liza Minnelli's ex insists that he won't quit the show.
Gest reportedly insists on wearing sunglasses and can't believe he will have no maid or butler in the jungle! However, he vows to stick it out.
"I'm a team player. I won't be walking, no matter what. I'm a survivor. I've got a strong, healthy ego," he explained.
"How am I gonna cope without a maid? There's got to be someone here that needs a job and some extra money.
"I have never done the dishes in 25 years, so it's okay if there are no dishes in the jungle - there aren't, are there? I hope the people I'm surrounded by have a sense of humour. It's unthinkable that I can spend three weeks with a bunch of strangers with no plates, no knives, no forks, no butler, no caviar. I can't wait."
Well, perhaps kangaroo testicles have a cavier-like taste.
OMG!! David Gest has to be the most annoying person in there.. He snores so loud and moans all the time.. if I here him drop another "famous" name I will throw something at the telly
As far as first nights go, it was brilliant.. fav so far for me is Toby, he is so funny. I like this mix of people and I can see some fights coming on. As per usual, Ant and Dec make this show.. they are brilliant and so funny :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

i agree, i LOVE ant and dec! i really dont think it would be the same, if they did not present it in the future! i think in the final ever series, they should have ant and dec in the jungle and let all the past celebrities get theur own back, lol!

Good start Ant and Dec as usual were brillant. I found David Gest funny and entertaining. Some of the so called celebs i never heard of.
So David got the first bushtucker trial voted by the public. I wonder if he will do it cos in the paper it said he was refusing to do any trials. It's gona be fun to watch.
I don't know most of the people in there but I think its going to be a good series.

How OTT was that Jan being after her trial. :rolleyes: "It was terrible, absolutely horrific, omg I just couldn't it :crying: :crying:" It was probably one of the easiest ones compared to what's to come!! I take it this woman has never seen the show before!? :wall: What really made me laugh though was when she went "I tried my best" :rotfl: hahaha if that's her best I wouldn't like to see her worst! :rotfl:
David Gest is so irritating and loud and moans alot but i still think hes capable to win it.

Matt has to win! i think he great! loved it when he bungee jumped out of the plane! i mena how many times could he say the word *******! lol! Myleene hasnt annoyed me suprisingly, im quite liking her atm! David Gest scares the hell out of me! i could not stay in the jungle with him! imagine having to wake up to that every morning!! I dont like Jan or Phina, or Scott. i like Toby, i though he was quite good helping Jan on the trial! Jan's reaction to ants was priceless! 'They're ghastly!' my god get over it! lol

As per usually Ant and Dec had me in knots laughing.. I am loving this.. I am begining to really dislike Lauren, she is so up her own :moonie:

oooooh, well, i kno i said david gest was annoyin me on the first night and i still don't like him that much, but how funny was he last night? falling over his feet on the bridge and losing his shoe? lol. and i think he did quite well in his trial to get 6 stars, even if he did exaggerate it when he went back
OMG, i ADORE ant and dec. when dec flipped them mugs over and then was stressin out at ant for being critical. awww, i truly believen o-one else could pull it off the same way they do. i was nearly crying with laughter yet again. the john fashnu impression comes to mind. for me, truly their personal highlight of all the shows!!!
also, i thought myleene was very brave to try and move that HUGE spider from laurens bed. i would not have gone anywhere near it. go girl!

NO.. i don't want David to win.. 2 days in there and he is moaning about everything.. he is not entertaining and name drops all the time.. So far I want Toby to win!!!

What a moaner Jan is. She has does nothing but moan and whinge since she set foot in the jungle. Did you see her last night asking Phina if she was blind because she didn't see the hay stack. She kept saying I wanted to do the task with a man. At least Phina tried and found two keys.
I couldn't believe it when Jan said she would have found the keys much quicker if it had been a man, specifically Toby. How sexist is that. Me thinks she has a thing for him.
Two new people are coming into the jungle tonight. I know Dean Gaffney is going in but I don't know who the other person is.
Plus there is a live trial tonight! Hehe Jan on a rope high above the jungle, can't wait. At least Jan will be able to do the trial as she will have a man with her.
what made me laugh is that Jan actually believe that if she did one trial that the public would leave her alone and not get her to do another.. how naive is she????

Ant McPartlin nearly quit I’m A Celebrity and headed home following the death of his grandmother last week, according to a report.
The reality host considered leaving Dec Donnelly on his own after 85-year-old Kathleen Clarke suffered a fatal heart attack on Friday.
He was convinced to remain in the jungle, according to The Sun, by his family and wife Lisa.
“Ant spent hours on the phone discussing what to do," a source told the paper. “He was extremely close to his gran.
"She helped bring him up in Newcastle. He has relatives in Australia and will spend the day of the funeral with them.”
McPartlin also asked producers to dedicate an episode of the show to her memory, which they did on Monday night.

I have never laughed so much, Dean Gaffney, what a star. He was the best ever in all the series aired. hope the others appreciate the meals.

Fair play to the guy it was obvious that he was petrified yet he still did what he could. The group should be pleased cause no-one else so far has done that well.

ugh, i missed the first episode last night, because i was out. so, i came home to find dean gafferny sticking his face in a bowl of that cheesy slime fruit stuff, while i was trying to eat my tea :( it wasn't very nice
however, i think he did so well, considering how scared he was. he tried every box and never gave up. bless him, he was so funny!

Why is Scott- the actual wimp and 'bitch' of the show not shown for what he is to the other fellow contestants. I remember watching Jan telling him something about Phina- completely innocent and he acts to her as if he'll sort it and then starts bitching to Phina about her! Urgh, get him out of there! :banned:

I watched it for the first time tonight, how incredibly funny. Jason Donavon singing about having mud down him whilst in the booth with creepy crawlies, David Guest, Matt Willis and Lauren Booth on the tight rope, Jan Leeming bossing just about everyone and confessing she took a wee, Ant and Dec joking about, Dec's 'Oh Matron' impression, all of it tv gold. I think I shall continue to watch mainly for David Guest.

i felt really sorry for jan tonight !! really sorry for her, but what i fab achievment for someone who has a huge fear of snakes !!, she did go on abit after though but everyone does if there proud of something. i think mylene (sp?) will go far untill she has to do a trial :p or jason donavon!

I think splitting it half and ahlf will bring a bit of difference to this series compared to the others, and should be pretty good!
I never thought i'd begin to like David guest, but he's seriously funny! And the tasks this year seem to be more entertaining than usual.

Have to say, i am totally loving this series.. Dean Gaffney's trail was by far the funniest piece of Television i have seen in ages :rotfl::rotfl:. David Gest "I knew this woman..." stories are hilarious and him talking about his maid.. It was brilliant.. Fair play to Jan, she was so proud of herself, obviously she is going to go on and on about it... Jason, brilliant as ever.. he is going to go far and he seems to be everyone's rock

Tonights trial looks really good.
Last night when Ant and Dec said the camp was going to be split they said the new camp is called snakes rock and the two camps are going to be in direct competition. It should be good.

think the spliting idea is a good idea a bit different. Malandras laugh is getting on my nerves and shes not been in that long bless her. Its like a cackle and she laughs all the time.

Scott was a complete moron last night, the girls won good on Phina for battling with him. I don't like Lauren and Jan they need to go soon.
Last night was mental... Phina and Lauren did win, Scott was just stopping them.. he left matt to get the key while he sat on the box.. I know there was no rules but that was not on...

I want the boys to win! the only member of the girls team that i like is Myleene! I was so hoping it would be Scott vs Phina again! I hate Phina! lol i loved it when Scott was like i could have her done for assault, and then you go to Ant and Dec.

It's very cruel of the public to keep voting Jan and Scott to do the task but you've got to laugh, if she wasn't such a moaner and him a wimp then maybe others would be picked to do a bush tucker task. I'm just worried if they are among the first celebs to be voted off first. Then the camp will starve as the rest of them won't be able to do the task.

in one way i'm glad scott and jan have been voted to the trial again tonight (especially seen as it' s the eating one, ha ha), but at the same time i want some different people to do them. peopl elike myleene, faith and toby are going to get accused of not doing that much, because they havn't had a chance to do the trials

Personally, I would have been the same.. I don't like having my face under water and I am not a strong swimmer, add been stuck in a glass box to that and yes I would have quit but Scott has done bad in other trials cause he is a wimp

Yes, tonight's Bush Tucker bonanza requires three manly campers to take it for the team, and there are no prizes for guessing who the celebs put forward...
Leaving a disgruntled Dean nursing a sore pride and aching head after the Jungle Pit, Jason, Matt and the Gest himself saunter off to meet their fate in 'The Shooting Gallery'.
And it all goes downhill from there on in...literally.
Our rugged males are faced with a 40 foot slide leading into a river, and are armed with arrows with which they must pierce a balloon midway down to secure each meal for camp.
And whilst, as always, we're sure as hell not going to spoil this one for you, we can promise laughs aplenty as our intrepid team takes on the torrent in true Bush bandit stylee.
Need we say more?

Definaitly i think it made her feel part of the group as she thought that she was a bit of an outsider. I forgot to mention how Matt Willis was so funny with the impressions he had all of them spot on.

Dean is so desperate to win, when they spoke about their dreams and his was "I dreamt I won this" what a load of cobblers. Jan seemed happy to go last night, she really came out of herself once Faith and Phina left. For a woman her age she did really well and as she said, she has learnt some things about herself, which is a great thing to admit, when you are in your 60's. So well done her. :cheer: :cheer:

Fair play to him eating what he did though - I wasnt watching so got a running commentary on MSN and pretty much got the gist of what was happening from there!! :lol:
i think he really deserved to win, as he was really quite genuine all the way through. I didnt really mind as i liked all the final 3. Matt did great in that trial, it was gross, all that black stuff, i was heaving just watching it.
