Hey guys,

Just wondered if you guys have any questions or issues you want me to bring ? Funding, syllabus etc

I'm wondering whether, with the controlled coursework coming in for GCSE in all subjects by 2009; it would be the same for A level, as that would really put me off taking them.
Will EMA ever be avalible for people who have a higher income than the limit at the moment? I have a lot of friends who are just over the threshold, and i dont see any signs of this changing in the next year or so, so will it change after this year?
in regards to ema ask them if they are going to reasses the assesment criteria for those who get it or not
some of my mates dont get it becuase their household income comes over the amount, but they are severly in debt so practically all their wages go into paying off debts
ideally ema should be judged on disposable income as oppose to household income

Yeah, it's totally silly the way they do it. I don't think I'll ever be able to get it now, because my Dad has a new job, and it pays more. There's no point in going by household income - my Dad would never give me somewhere in the region of £30 a week, and he would expect me to pay the bills.
Thanks for your response guys!
We already have EMA on the agenda to discuss ... anymore questions please feel free to post .. cant promise to answer them all but we will do as much as poss!
I will post any answers on here after the meeting

STudent loans and grants should be the same to everyone. Beacuse next year im going to have 30 pounds a week to live off because my dad is getting 500 pounds over the 17000 allowed. Not all parents can afford to pay their chlilds accomadation/ living costs. I agree wit BB that ema and student loans should be on disposable income
Thanks guys - its definately issues we will discuss at our panel meetings!
In case you students in FE (Furtehr Eductaion) Havent heard there is a new panel - the National Learners Panel, who are going to try and bring FE students main issues to light
If you have any probs you can think of feel free to post in here - this may then be discussed at panel meetings.
We cant reach all students but hopefully through places like SB we can reach a few more!
