Happy 70th birthday Jack

Jack Duckworth's set for a very happy birthday when loving wife Vera throws him a surprise party.

As the big day approaches, the bashful birthday boy doesn't want to draw too much attention to the fact he's turning 70.

But vivacious Vera has other ideas! After telling her grumpy other half she's planning a girlie trip to Amsterdam and will miss his big day, she arranges a 50s style celebration in the Rovers!

Thankfully, he's delighted - but, that's not the only surprise in store for the shocked spouse.

Rumour has it a mystery guest will be turning up, and could spoil all the fun....!

And no, we've no idea who it is. We wish we did!

When is his 70's birthday does anyone know. Maybe his surprise guest will be bet lynch and alex gilroy coming back for a few episodes

Bet Lynch might come back, although I could hardly see Vera inviting her !

As much as I love Jack & Vera its time for Corrie to write them out and give them a really good exit now. We hardly see them thesedays.

Gosh we are full of words of Wisdom this morning ! We don't see have the people as much as we used does not mean they should be written out

Well I'd rather they got a good exit rather than an off screen on which is whats going to happen if Corrie keep hanging on to the old timers.

Has Jack ever had an affair? Maybe it could be an old bit on the side if he has. Maybe Terry? Can't remember what happened to him, didn't he get arrested?

Jack had an affair with Bet Lynch about 25 years ago. :sick:

Terry was a evil-doer, especially to his mum (e.g. swindling her cash, getting her to have a kidney removed), so he wouldn't be welcomed back in a hurry.

Cor blimey.....Jack's 70 years young! That actually surprised me, I mean I knew he was on the mature side....but 70!!! :eek:

I reckon the party pooper who turns up will be their son, Terry!
