It says in today's daily mirror that the BBC are sending texts to random members of the public looking them to write scripts for EastEnders.

This means that practically anybody could be writing for the show.

I think the BBC should come on the boards and have a look at our scripts!

willow
08-05-2005, 13:53
it says that in the people too!!!

willow
08-05-2005, 14:04
it says. ENDERS SOS

desperate eastenders bosses are sending text messages to random members of the public asking them to write scripts, people who reply are put through to the bbc recrutment hotline in the hope they can breathe some life into the ailing soap....

willow

.....the astonishing move could result in stars like jessie wallace acting out lines written by work experiance youngsters.

adverts for the one year academy course are on the bbc website. the job also involves writing for casualty and holby city.

from the people 8/5/05

If it’s in the paper then I really do think it's just another attempt to make a dig at eastenders.

I just don't believe it. EE have a set of highly paid and experienced script writers. There is no way they would rely on the public to help them. It sounds preposterous.

Just take this one like a pinch of salt....

Jade

Angeldelight
08-05-2005, 15:19

of course it's a load of rubbish but it would probably help them out, ESPECIALLY IF THEY CAME ON HERE AND LOOKED AT EVERONE'S SCRIPTS

Alisha
08-05-2005, 15:20
So it's true then  It really sounds like they have stopped to new lows with this.

Unless the advertisment is for experienced writters and not just any members of the public.

Angeldelight
08-05-2005, 15:21

Yes but our scripts would be bias -on how we would want things done and our outcomes from storylines. To really write good scripts it boils down to the characters -you got to know them inside out and what makes each individual one tick and all their traits which make them who they are.

I think looking at them is ok but to use them is something is far fetched, especially from fans.

I heard that John York is bringing back old scriptwriters from the 90's and holding workshops too. That sounds good. :)

Torrie
08-05-2005, 15:41
That course sounds fantastic, but I think the key phrase is "Potential writers will have already had at least one film, television or radio drama script produced or one theatre piece performed professionally." Not just any Joe Bloggs off the street then - I was a bit worried that they were going to be using EE as a guinea pig for complete beginners until I saw that.

Rach33
08-05-2005, 16:17
Two pages we could argue for hours duckie wait till we're at page ten then start to worry

Angeldelight
08-05-2005, 16:24
lol i just thought i'd mention it so other SANE people know we know we're completely nutters!!!

but it would be boring it if i kept them together i could put him with the new girl Freya!!! come on she needs some kind of reward she just killed IAN BEALE, she deserves a medal!!!!!!

Rach33
08-05-2005, 16:26
No she can have Danny I don't care if she killed Ian Beale SNIFFS please don't split Jake and Chrissie up they can be mates and Freya can have all the other men in Albert Square if you can call them men

Angeldelight
08-05-2005, 16:28
what MEn they are no men apart from Jake, Danny and Alfie because he will NOT be with little mo in Eventful beginnings because it is just wrong!!!! i could bring Dennis back but he'd still be hung up on Sharon!!!!

Rach33
08-05-2005, 16:30
No Sharon can not come back in your story and she can have him or Jim Branning that will get the neighbours tlaking

Angeldelight
08-05-2005, 16:32
nooo because him and dot are the perfect couple!!! DENNIS is in LOVE with SHARON 'forever' remember

how about i kill apuline aswell?? i could have her head chopped off and it could be stored in the fowlers fridge? and bury the rest of her body in her 'beloved' allotments

Rach33
08-05-2005, 16:35
Yeah she could secretly be an axed murderer and Freya is slowly killing all residents of Albert Square (Zoe, Pauline, Ian, Derek, Garry, Tina, Johnny, Sam, Alfie, Little Mo, Charlie, Keith, Rosie, Martin, Jane,)

di marco
08-05-2005, 16:36
lol that sounds funny for your script! :D

Angeldelight
08-05-2005, 16:39
i can't kill alfie i just can't!!!!! where's she guna work if i kill Jane and Johnny?

Rach33
08-05-2005, 16:41
she can take over from Pauline in the launderette I'm bored of Alfie though he's no fun no more

Angeldelight
08-05-2005, 16:41
who in their right mind would want to work in the laundrette????? that's just being cruel

Rach33
08-05-2005, 16:43
Well if she's an axe murderer she can wash her clothes quickly can't she

Angeldelight
08-05-2005, 16:45

08-05-2005, 16:52
hey have you sent any of your stories into the BBC yet??

Rach33
08-05-2005, 16:55
no it has to be a none EE one so I thought I'd start one from scratch after the exam

callummc
08-05-2005, 18:27
As much as we all have good idea's i don't think it'd help, they'd do better sending every licence payer a questioner asking for fav charectors, storylines and what they'd like to see happen in the future and then work with the writers to right better scripts, get rid of the actors who don't get enough marks, bring back the ones that enough people want back and get some new actors and writers

Babe14
10-05-2005, 10:02
They need to do a survey like the one on the Bill site, that was excellent. Still there is no harm in sending in a script, they can only say no. At least you know you've tried.

Babe14
10-05-2005, 10:48

That's my plan one day too or to write a book. Might do both.:)

Babe14

Joel Beckett Lover/You should definitely send in some of your work, you could easily adapt it so it's not EE related.
