Watched it the other night, first episode without Mark Lamar and I have to say, I haven't laughed so much in ages. Simons witty comebacks, quick one liners were hilarious and when they started on Anthea Turners autobiography and also why they weren't allowed to use a certain swear word :rotfl:

Did anyone else join in the fun?!

I'm still laughing now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yeah it was great!! I was worried about Simon doing it, I thought he wouldn't be able to fill Marks Boots but he was great! Aleesha Dixon is a right laugh too, finally something decent to watch on fridays.:)

Thats exactly what I thought - Mark was so funny and had hosted for so long, I didn't think it would work without him, but it was brilliant!

Great to see it back and on top form

Ordinary Boys frontman Samuel Preston has walked out of a recording of BBC Two pop quiz Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

The singer, 24, took exception when host Simon Amstell read extracts from an autobiography written by his wife, Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton.

"Preston just stormed off," said a spokeswoman for the show. "He literally walked out of the building."

Co-host Bill Bailey picked a member of the audience to take Preston's place for the remainder of the recording.

'Banter'

In the offending passage from Chantelle's book, Living the Dream, the reality star described a photo shoot where she wore clothes from Marks and Spencer.

"I've always loved M&S but it has always been too expensive for me," she wrote.

"The photo shoot made me feel very posh and upmarket."

The Buzzcocks spokeswoman said: "It's a shame Preston felt he had to leave.

"Fans will know Simon loves to banter with his guests. It's the nature of the show - and it's not meant in a mean way."

Preston and Chantelle met last January in the Celebrity Big Brother house and married eight months later.

Houghton, 23, was planted in the show as a fake celebrity but went on to win. She has since starred in her own series, Chantelle: Living the Dream, on digital channel E4.

Preston was already known for his pop-ska band The Ordinary Boys and their single Boys Will Be Boys charted at number three after the show.

The singer's brief appearance on Never Mind The Buzzcocks will form part of the new series, which begins on BBC Two on 27 January.

Now this will be one episode that I definitely won't miss (even though I never miss a Buzzcocks anyway :D)

I watch it over christmas.. they had David Gest on it and it was really funny. Again I didn't think Simon would have done a good job but I laughed so hard. Mind you, didn't think sean hughes could be replaced but bill bailey is very very funny too.

Hubby and I love Buzzcocks - we didn't think it would be the same after Mark Lamaar left, but were very pleasantly surprised - even enjoying it more so now!

I can't wait for the next series to start - the one with John Barrowman on a few weeks back was even funnier! Disgusting man our John is!!! :rotfl:

I've always thought simon was funny but I wasn't sure about him being on on buzzcocks...I'm actually laughing more with him than I ever did with mark. Though you have to wonder if the same thing will happen with as it did with popworld :P

I watched the episode when it was aired - Preston was being a pratt from the start even having a face on when he was introduced! Totally pathetic and made himself look a complete fool.
