Open All Hours Star - Jane's Mom

Walford bride to be Jane Collins is going to hav en extra special guest at her wedding to Ian Beale - her mom, Linda! Open All Hours and Fat Friends star Lynda Baron has been cast as the cafe worker's mother, and will appear on our screens at the start of December, as her daughter gets ready to tie the know.

"We're delighted Lynda has signed up to play Jane's mum" says an Eastenders spokesperson. "There'll be plenty of drama for the family in the run up to the ceremony and it'll be intresting to see what Linda makes of having Ian for a son in law!"

There will, however, be no appearance from Jane's dad, as Mr Collins is taken ill and can't make the trip from Florida to give his daughter away. But with Ian harbouring the secret knowledge of Jane's affair with Grant Micthell, will the wedding actually go ahead?

I thought it sounded like Jane's parents had been on holiday there and he'd had to stay on because of the illness. I doubt Jane would've wanted to be in Walford in the first place if she could have been in the States.

I cant wait to see what Ian has planned for the wedding i think that this years Christmas in Eastenders (if it happens at Xmas) will be the best for a long time what with Paulines exit and Ian and Jane.

Jane must have got her height from her fathers side then though - as Lynda Baron isnt the tallest of people.

Lynda will only be on EE briefly right ?? So it is sort of a guest appearance . Then once Jane does what ever she is gonna do with Ian,,Lynda goes back to Florida .:searchme:
I liked her as Nurse Gladys,, she was so funny...I guess she is now in her late 60's ????
