On her way to work at Barton Street police station, Sergeant Nikki Wright (GILLIAN TAYLFORTH) finds a man lying unconscious whilst walking by the River Thames. As the man is found on Sun Hill’s patch, Sergeant June Ackland (TRUDIE GOODWIN) and PC Diane Noble (KAYE WRAGG) arrive at the scene. The man is found to have a knife wound and Nikki decides to go in the ambulance with the victim while June and Diane investigate further.

Elsewhere, PCs Tony Stamp (GRAHAM COLE) and Yvonne Hemmingway (MICHELE AUSTIN) are called out in the area car to a betting shop robbery. Tony and Yvonne soon find themselves in pursuit of the getaway car and a high-speed chase comes to a nasty end when the car smashes into the ambulance with Nikki on board. Tony approaches the car but is forced to back off when the robber, Morris Shaw (SYLVESTER MCCOY), in a George Bush mask, threatens to shoot hostage, Charlie May (NITIN GANATRA), who is sat next to him. June, Diane and Superintendent Heaton (DANIEL FLYNN) soon arrive at the scene and June calls Nikki on her mobile and warns her to stay inside the ambulance where she is desperately trying the stop the injured man from bleeding to death.

Trainee DC Kezia Walker (CAT SIMMONS) and DI Neil Manson (ANDREW LANCEL) make their way to the betting shop. After discovering that £300,000 was stolen, they look at CCTV footage to try and identify the accomplice, wearing a Tony Blair mask, who got away. Back in the ambulance, as the injured man is being resuscitated, Nikki decides she has no choice but to negotiate with the gunman. Going against June’s instructions, the Barton Street Sergeant leaves the ambulance and carefully approaches the masked man asking if he has a plan. Nikki explains that he has no way out and he should give himself up. To everyone’s relief, the man removes his mask, throws his weapon out of the window and is arrested.
Back at Sun Hill, DAC Georgia Hobbs (KAZIA PELKA) praises Sergeant Nikki Wright for her heroics and DCI Jack Meadows (SIMON ROUSE) asks if she can spend the rest of the day with them to finish the investigation. However, June makes it clear to Nikki that she is furious with her for not following her instructions - she has two children and two step-children to think about and she shouldn’t have put her life on the line like that. Jack and Nikki question the gunman, Morris Shaw, who is hospital for minor injuries. They ask him about his accomplice but Morris refuses to give his name. Nikki and Jack then question booking manager, Charlie May, about how he was kidnapped. He is vague with his answers and when the DCI asks if there is a reason why he is not co-operating, Charlie admits his girlfriend, Cassie was also kidnapped. After some clever thinking from Nikki, the case takes a big turn and she becomes is the toast of Sun Hill.

Meanwhile, in custody, James Tennant (NEIL STUKE) is put into a cell after being arrested for drink driving and assault. DI Neil Manson (ANDREW LANCEL) is called to see him and attempts to calm him down. James admits he is losing the plot - his daughter, Amy is still missing and there is nothing anyone can do. Neil arranges for James to be bailed.

Later, Georgia visits Heaton in his office and says that Nikki Wright is looking for a transfer. Her husband, Doug, also works as a Sergeant at Barton Street and she’d ideally like to separate her home and work life. Heaton agrees to bear Nikki in mind for the job. Georgia admits that she has missed seeing Heaton outside of work - she pulls the blinds and they kiss passionately in his office…

Mickey discovers that Carrie was last seen with Tony Maguire (BRETT ALLEN), a regular client of hers and brings him in for questioning. He admits to having sex with Carrie but denies beating her. Mickey visits Carrie who has recovered enough to be interviewed. She eventually admits that her pimp, Gavin Josef (DEAN GAFFNEY) raped and beat her up. Carrie warns Mickey not to do anything because if she snitches on Josef, she’ll never work again.

Despite Carrie’s instruction, Mickey questions Josef anyway. He denies having anything to do with her beating and says he was in his bar all night entertaining some female friends. Mickey updates DCI Jack Meadows (SIMON ROUSE) who warns him not to get emotionally involved in the case. Later, Carrie arrives at the station to tell Mickey that because of him, Josef has thrown her out of her flat – he’s her landlord too. Feeling sorry for her and ignoring Jack’s advice, Mickey offers Carrie a room for the night.

Yvonne visits Roz and tells her that her children are with social services after they were discovered home alone. Yvonne tells Roz that she has been dealing with her son Billy after he made a complaint about their family Doctor, Andrew Wilder (GRANT MASTERS) Yvonne explains that Wilder paid Billy to have sex with an underage girl called Tina Powell (SARAH BECK MATHER) while he watched. Later, Yvonne is intrigued when Tina comes into the station wanting to withdraw her statement against Wilder. Yvonne asks if she is scared of going to court but Tina has made her mind up – Dr. Wilder didn’t abuse her. Superintendent Heaton (DANIEL FLYNN) tells the frustrated PC that without Tina’s evidence, they can’t proceed. But when Wilder is caught on CCTV with Tina, Heaton gives Yvonne twenty-four hours to prove Wilder is a guilty man.

Meanwhile, PC Dan Casper (CHRIS JARVIS) turns up late to work for the second time this week and unimpressed Sergeant June Ackland (TRUDIE GOODWIN) gives him his final warning. Later, his new girlfriend, Tammy Clarkson (SALLY LEONARD), confronts him at work asking why he is tired, irritated and avoiding her calls. Dan eventually admits that he was taking steroids and has now stopped. Tammy publicly ends their relationship saying he wasn’t up to it in the sack and wasn’t fun to be around. And after finding a bottle of steroids in his locker, decides he was better off taking them.

Also, Mickey Webb is pleased to see Mia Perry (JO-ANNE KNOWLES) at Sun Hill who attended a press conference with Sergeant Nikki Wright (GILLIAN TAYLFORTH) and DAC Georgia Hobbs (KAZIA PELKA) after yesterday’s events. And after a very long and tiring day, Mickey opens up to Mia about the case he has been working on. Mickey admits he was raped three years ago. He tells her he feels ashamed every day and pushes the self-destruct button whenever he becomes close to anyone. A tearful Mickey says he wants to turn back time and hates himself for hurting her. How dare she be nasty for to my lovely PC Dan Casper ! He is so lush !

Anyway, sounds a completely good week, and looks like that June and Nikki are going to have fun together, when does June leave or isn't she now?

I was wondering if Mia was coming back seeing as Mickey and Carrie were talking (I think it was one of last weeks episodes) and she said he should talk to her.
I used to like Yvonne but she's really getting on my nerves now, I can't wait until she leaves.

Mr Humphries, I love your banner!
