A number of new faces will be joining HOLBY CITY this Autumn. Joining high profile ex-Emmerdale actress Patsy Kensit who will be playing a nurse from October, other newcomers Nadine Lewington, Phoebe Thomas and Peter Wingfield will be making an entrance.
Nadine Lewington has just started filming and will be appearing onscreen from January as SHO Maddy Young.
Nadine has numerous TV credits to her name, including Family Affairs and Dream Team. She also made a guest appearance in the last series of CASUALTY as Sarah Ryman in S20 Ep.22.
'I've been on cloud nine since receiving that all important phone call,' said Nadine. 'My parents are surprised to suddenly have a doctor in the family but are thrilled nonetheless!'
'I'm just really looking forward to being part of an incredible cast in such a successful show, I can't wait!'
Maddy is good friends with Clifford (Peter Wingfield) and has saved him from trouble on a few occasions. Maddy's enthusiasm and ability speaks for itself. She's a young SHO who loves her job and is fun to be around.
Publicity added 'We are delighted to have Nadine on board to play the part of Maddy, she's a great addition to the show and her character will be involved in some dramatic storylines'.
Phoebe Thomas is to play Maria Kendall, a young attractive student who is a breath of fresh air. There is no side to her, what you see is what you get.
She tries her best at everything, including her love life, but her best can be confusing as she tends to engage deed before brain.
She wants to please anyone and everyone, which can often have disastrous results.
Her credits include The Booze Cruise, Judge John Deed, The Bill, Doctors. She can also be seen re-enacting the role of Lady Godiva riding naked through the streets on horseback in a modern feature film soon to be released.
She has also made a previous guest appearance in two episodes of HOLBY CITY in Series 5 as Chloe Palmer.
Phoebe said, 'I am absolutely ecstatic to have been given the role of Maria. I have been following the show for years and love the storylines. I made a brief appearance in the show a few years ago so it is great to be back working with such a lovely cast.'
Already announced by holby.tv to be joining the cast of HOLBY CITY, Peter Wingfield is to play a handsome consultant in general surgery by the name of Daniel Clifford. Mr Clifford hits Holby like a steam train. He's on the run, not from the law, but from his love life.
He's confident, un-PC, charismatic, disarming and works at the speed of light - the sooner his work's done the sooner he can hit the golf course.
And to add spice to his life he constantly plays devil's advocate leaving everyone wondering what he'll do next.
His credits include Dalziel and Pascoe, Smallville: The Early Years, Soldier, Soldier, Medics, Catwoman and X Men 2.
Peter said: 'I am very excited about joining the very distinguished cast of this terrific show and can't wait to get started. I think exciting times lie ahead for all of us'.
Peter and Phoebe will both be on screen from 28th November 2006.
