Earphone socket on television

i bought a telly on saturday and there doesn't seem to be a socket for earphones on it which i need. it's not a plasma or lcd just an ordinary 21" telly. there are 2 sockets, one saying video and the other one audio, is this the earphone one does anyone know.

The audio socket would be the earphones one.

thanks rob, that's what i thought. just one more thing, the earphones that will be used are wireless earphones, i think you plug the charger or somthing into the telly, could the problem be that the earphones need to be tuned into the telly.
