Loved this as a kid, very entertaining and some fantastic songs, however i just got the DVD version and oh my life its ruined it by getting that, i dont reccommend the DVD version to anyone if you like the film, is there anyone who likes/liked it?

what's wrong with the dvd version vicki. I loved the film and would consider buying the dvd as a stocking filler for marley's xmas

It might be alright for Marley having not seen it but for people who have seen it on video dont get the DVD they have tried to be cleaver by adding bits into the dvd that must have been removed from the video version only they couldnt get the voices back so Mr Brown, Carrie, Charlie and Paul all adapt posh voices where they havent been able to get it right and its a right disaster, while it is very funny it just ruins it for people who remember the video version

Oh my !! What a strange thing to do!! It should be left as it is - I can't see what would need to be added to such a brilliant film - why do that!? :searchme:

Having seen the DVD version now i see why they would want to add the missing bits in, for instance when Charlie asks who is taking them and the woman says "Your for Miss Price im expecting her in" then you hear arguing and she goes outside but it cuts straight to the soldiers singing 'Old Home Guard' its like something is missing but you dont realise it till you see it put back in because now in the DVD between that lady saying "Please dont touch anything" and the soldiers coming down you hear what the argument is about so i see why they would want to edit it back in because it makes more sense but with the voices being messed up i wish they had left it with the gaps that dont make sense either that or left it all in the video version, i say if you have it on video then get it out and watch that with your kids dont buy the messed up DVD.

I still love the film and if you just ignore the dodgy voices (which is extremely hard because if you have seen this then you know Charlie isnt exactly posh so it makes you die of laughter when he suddenly comes out with a posh voice)then its good with the added bits in as it makes more sense and its more like a story than the video version (only you wont realise the video version is weird unless you see the DVD) but the voices is really hard to ignore and it just sounds really dodgy and it doesnt feel like bedknobs any more.

Its quite early on with mine the first one being when they are sitting at the table just after she says "please dont bother to whisper i am exceptionally keen of hearing, you are planning to run back to london, if you have any more plotting to do please do it else where so i shant have to listen to it" its just after that where the first glimpse of a posh voice comes out in Carrie and Charlie but before that bit is added bits where as far as i can tell voices dont change

Then i doubt your has added bits unless you never noticed, but let us know what happens with it as it might just be Disney Classics that isnt worth getting on DVD
