Channel 4's Shameless may have to find a new filming location.
Producers have confirmed that they could be forced to take action because the estate where the show is filmed is set for a multi-million pound makeover, sparking fears that the area could become "too posh" for the dysfunctional Gallagher family.
"We have always had fantastic support from the estate," show spokeswoman Deborah Goodman told The Mirror. "We do not view the area as grotty at all because of the warmth of the people. But if the area changes we will have to cut our cloth accordingly."
