SPOOKS
BBC1, 9PM
By Jane Simon
I'M not sure about showing the new series of Spooks on consecutive nights.

Twenty four hours is barely enough time to stop giggling at the daft plot by MI6 to bring democracy crashing down and replace it with, er - something else.

Still, it's all terribly action-packed. Last night we saw Adam back at work after being shot with a high velocity bullet, poor computer geek Colin hanged, Juliet and the Home Secretary blown up by a car bomb in Westminster and two planes on a collision course over London.

Tonight, as civil liberties are snatched away, Adam appeals to the icy Ros Myers in her silver trench coat from Spies R Us and Harry's arrested under a temporary detention order.

"There's no such thing as a temporary detention order!" he snaps, forgetting Spooks is licensed to make stuff up as it goes along.

--------------------------------------------------

You may think its a daft plot Jane, and may sit giggling at it, but I for one didn't. I thoroughly enjoyed both episodes and am waiting with baited breath for tonights (on BBC3 :D )

I think the Security Services have a huge handling in the way things are done to a certain extent, and could certainly say this storyline was plausible. Hopefully would never happen, but definitely possible to carry out.
