Charlie Stubbs doesn't have the monopoly when it comes to driving the women of Weatherfield wild, you know.

While some ladies might be turned on by the sight of a buff builder with a bad boy temperament to match, others have more, erm, refined tastes. Age, you see, ain't nothing but a number and the older folk down Coronation Street still have passions that burn as strong as when they were young ‘uns.

Especially when it comes to eligible men like Fred Elliott. It's widely known that a certain Widow Roberts isn't exactly crazy about the idea of her mate Fred marrying loved up Bev Unwin. But when she confesses her feelings to the stunned butcher he's going to be thrown into one hell of a romantic crisis.

While he loves Bev to bits, Fred's always had a real soft spot for Audrey and when she tells him that she was crazy to turn him down in the past, he'll be left in a bit of a quandary. Does he stick with his blushing bride-to-be or bin her in favour of his former soulmate? Come on Fred, time's running out!

It's hard for us folk who love a gossip. On the one hand being in charge of one of the most scandalous secrets on Coronation Street sounds like heaven on earth. But on the other, when this particular tidbit could cause a tidelwave of destruction across Weatherfield, it doesn't seem like so much fun anymore.

Poor Sean, despatched by best pal Violet to discover if Jamie is gay or not, he's now in the know about who the buff Baldwin really loves – and she isn't a stylish twenty-something with a job behind the Rovers bar.

In fact, the lady in question couldn't be more unsuitable for lovelorn Jamie and Sean is now having to keep schtum knowing innocent Violet is headed for an almighty fall. Shockingly, Sean discovers the terrible truth just before Jamie and Violet jet off on their hols, meaning he's got ages to wait before being able to talk some sense into his mate. Will he crack under the strain?

Finally, Jamie and Violet might be headed for Splitsville, but one young couple are excitedly planning their future. It's been a bit quiet on the Rosie and Craig front just lately, but there are big things afoot for Weatherfield's Romeo and Juliet.

After spending quite a lot of time away from her man this summer, Rosie is horrified when mum Sally tells her that the entire Webster clan are off on their hols to Paris. Whereas other teenagers might be enthralled by the prospect of a break to the city of love, Rosie is just miserable that she'll be seeing all the sights without her true love on her arm.

So, in true petulant school girl style, the eldest Webster girl decides to stage a protest by refusing to go and opting to stay with Craig in Weatherfield. But with both the teen sweethearts desperate to do a bit of travelling, will their journey really end at Roy's Rolls?
