'headLand' confirmed for E4
Saturday, September 2 2006, 09:47 BST - by Kris Green
Soap fanatics will be pleased to hear that C4 have finally confirmed when the now-axed-Down-Under university-based soap headLand will premiere.

The show - from the creators of Home & Away - is to air from Monday, September 11 at 7.30pm Monday through Friday on E4.

The first series comprises 52 episodes and production had already started on a second series before the first had even aired in Australia. Filming for series two ground to a halt when the show was axed in Oz due to flagging ratings. As it stands, there is still a major stockpile of episodes to air in its home country.

Here are a few cast shots from the show. They're all smiling, so they were obviously taken before the show was axed... Oh, and note the Lost-inspired cast shot.

HEADLAND SUMMARY
Headland explores that potent time in life when you are faced with balancing the demands of university with the lure of new-found freedom and self discovery.

From the Seven Network, home of Australian drama, Headland will explore the world of South Heads, once a thriving steel works town and now the home of South Coast University.

The series will feature the University Campus, and the Headland Hotel, the nexus wheres the old blue-collar town meets the new. The Headland has become "the" place to hang out and , if you're lucky enough, to live!!

The backdrop to this fictional world is the beautiful coastline of the IIlawarra. Just over an hour south of Sydney the landscape features spectacular rainforest escarpments stretching down to magnificent headlands, crystal clear surfing beaches and rocky platforms.

Already sold to the hugely popular channel Four Network in the UK, Headland has been created for an early evening timeslot. The series will appeal to viewers of all ages and is destined to become a favourite drama with domestic and international audiences alike.

I love this show. It's got great storylines and it looks like they have a great cast who can act WELL :)

Just a question though, because they show it on 4 at lunchtime does that mean they cut out bits?
