Max: Why don't you just talk to him?

Stacey: You don't think i've tried?!

Max: He cares about you, I'm sure if you just talk to him...

Stacey: He just switches off! All he cares about is his job. He just doesn't have any time for anything else. He doesn't have time for me.

Max: His job's important to him Stace, but he loves you to bits. I know he does.

Stacey: I don't know what to do. I just feel so alone.

Max: Bradley just needs a bit of a kick into shape that's all. Things are going to be fine. I'll sort it.

Stacey: Yeah, cause your really good at that (sarcastically, looking upset).

(Max looks at her)

Stacey: You know, I'm starting to think that this has been a huge mistake.

Max: What has?

Stacey: Everything! Moving in here, thinking that me and Bradley could just pick up from where we left off.

Max: Well I got to admit Stace. I had my doubts. I mean you've not known each other long, have you?! It's a hard thing to cope with.

Stacey: It must be a first for you, being right.

Max: I'm not sure I am, I'm just saying it's difficult that's all.

Stacey: It's not supposed to be easy though is it?

Max: Lets have another drink, hey!

(gives her a glass)

Stacey: Isn't Tanya mean't to be back soon?!

Max: No, she's staying up her mum's, for the weekend. Went up this morning.

Stacey: What about Lauren and Abi?

Max: They've gone too. Their nan hasn't seen them for ages.

Stacey: Right (feeling a bit uneasy).

Max: (feeling a bit uneasy too) Bradley should be back soon.

Stacey: Doubt it, probably stay out all night, just to avoid me.

Max: He's just gone for a couple of pints with his mates. He'll be back.

Stacey: Maybe.

Max: You are a very pretty girl, you know that.
Bradley don't know what he's missing.

(Stacey looks at him, Max averts his gaze)

Stacey: Yeah he does. That's the problem.

Max: Maybe you should, go get some sleep. I mean it's getting late isn't it?!

Stacey: It's Saturday night.

(Max looks at her uncomfortably, Stacey looks away)

Stacey: But maybe your right. I don't want Bradley to think I've been waiting up for him.

Max: Right again hey?! I'm going to start getting big headed, if your not careful.

(Stacey laughs nervously)

(Stacey gets ready to get up to put her glass on the table, Max grabs her hand, they look at each other)

(Max kisses her passionately, Stacey kisses him back, Bradley walks in, and is shocked by what he sees!)

Do you think that grabbing of the arm thing has been a bit overdone?! It does seem to happen a lot with them.

Twice i've tried to do a sequel to this, but everytime I keep revisiting old ground. I keep remembering the scene with Bradley and Stacey in the square, after she admits she's pregnant. And the bit after Bradley finds out about Max and Stacey seems to come out as a replica of that.

I'm trying to find a new angle, but it's kind of difficult lol.

I'll keep trying.

Part 2

(On the square, just after Bradley sees Stacey and Max kissing)

Stacey: Bradley! Wait! (screaming running after him)

Bradley: Look, just don't talk to me o.k.

Stacey: Just let me explain.

Bradley: Explain? How can you explain?!

Stacey: I just want you to know...

Bradley: Just spare me the details

Stacey: I'm sorry!

Bradley: Sorry.

How could you?!

Stacey: Well, we haven't exactly been doing great lately have we?! (frustrated)

Bradley: (shocked surprise) So you thought, why not?! Bradley ain't paying me any attention. His dad is offering, what difference does it make?!

Stacey: I was feeling low, and....

Bradley: And, and what?! It was easier? less hassle?

Stacey: Yeah, at the time.

(Bradley looks at her)

Bradley: Cause you couldn't talk to me?! Let me know how you were feeling?

Stacey: You've avoided me like the plague for the past month!

Bradley:That's only cause you wouldn't talk to me. You just shut me out! (in tears)

Stacey: You never listened!

(Bradley looks at her)

Bradley: Do you fancy him?

Stacey: What?!

Bradley: My dad?!

Stacey: I love you!

Bradley: That's not an answer.

(Stacey looks at him)

Stacey: It was a stupid mistake.

Bradley: A mistake! It didn't seem that way from where I was standing. (upset)

(Bradley reacts)

Stacey: I had too much to drink. It just happened.

(Stacey looks at him upset)

Bradley: So it was the drink was it?! When you've had a few your anybody's?!

(Stacey looks at him)

Stacey: It weren't just anybody.

Bradley: No, it was my dad! (angry)

(Stacey looks sad)

Bradley: So did he ply you with alcohol, take advantage?

Stacey: No.

Bradley: So it was you that did all the running?

Stacey: There was no running! We both made it happen.

(Bradley upset)

Bradley: Why?! (despairing)

Stacey: I don't know. I felt close to him. I felt like he cared about me.

Bradley: Didn't spare a thought for me? Bet I didn't even enter your head.

Stacey: Everytime I think about you, I think of pain. Everytime.

Bradley: It's not easy for me either. But I haven't looked at anybody else. I wouldn't. Because I love you.

Stacey: I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

Bradley: Just leave me be. Just go.

(banging on door, Max goes to open it and sees Bradley)

Max: Bradley.

Bradley: You don't mind if I let myself in do you?!

Max: I...

Bradley: Didn't think so. ( angrily walks in and sits down on chair)

(Max feeling uncomfortable)

Max: Um, can I get you a drink?!

(Bradley gives him a stern look)

Bradley: I haven't come here to socialise (abruptly).

Max: Look Brad..

Bradley: I don't want to hear any of your drawn out apologies o.k. I just want to know what and why?!

Max: Can't I just...

(Bradley looks at him, he stops)

Max: What did Stacey say?!

Bradley: I want to hear it from you.

Max: It was nothing.

Bradley: Oh, great start! (laughing to himself) 'Nothing', I feel like i'm getting de-ja-vu here.

Max: What are you talking about?!

Bradley: Stacey, she said the exact same thing?!

Max: Did she?!

Bradley: Yeah, your certainly reading from the same hymn book.

(Max looks at him)

You look upset?

Max: Upset?! Me?!

(Bradley looks at him)

Bradley: How longs it been going on?

Max: Just tonight. One kiss that's it.

(Bradley reacts)

Bradley: Did she try it on with you?!

Max: Is that what she said?!

Bradley: Just answer the question.

Max: Why would you assume that?! I mean I'm the one that plays around.

Bradley: Why are you so keen to protect her?

Max: I'm not. I'm just wondering how you can have such a low opinion of the girl your supposed to love.

Bradley: Well when I walked in to find her stretched over my dad. The halo she had round her head started to lift! (sarcastically)

Max: All I was trying to do was help her, o.k. She was upset and lonely, she needed someone.

Bradley: And that someone just had to be you. I mean I should be thanking you really?! (sarcastically) If I wasn't careful she might have ended up with somebody who would take advantage.

Max: She loves you Bradley. She really does.

Bradley: How can you say that and keep a straight face?!

Max: She does. You guys can still work this out.

Bradley: (laughs) How can we do that?! Everytime I look at her i'll see you. With your hands all over her.

Max: I think your exaggerating.

Bradley: Do you?! How am I supposed to see you two together, and not imagine what's gone on. Wondering whether you still have feelings for one another?!

Max: There aren't any feelings between us Bradley.

Bradley: I'm used to you lying to me, but you shouldn't lie to yourself.

Max: I'm not lying.

Bradley: I can tell by the way you look when your talking about her.

Max: Your talking rubbish.

Bradley: How do you reckon she feels about you?!

Max: She feels nothing for me.

Bradley: I wouldn't be so sure of that (upset).

Max: You get this from one conversation.

Bradley: No. I've noticed you two together these past few weeks, getting closer. I didn't think much of it. Thought you were just trying to be a friend. Surprising what you'll convince yourself of, when you want to believe it so badly.

Max: Bradley. It's not too late.

Bradley: It's over! And I don't want you talk to me ever again.
