The Wild Life Of Manchester

I have decided to write my first ever soap in hope i will keep it going longer than other stuff ive done. It is a soap set in Manchester where life is anything but normal.

Here are the bios for my characters i will start writing tomorrow.

Episode 1
Scene 1 - In the Smith house

Robyn: Marcus can i ask you something?
Marcus: If you want
Robyn: Can we adopt a child?
Marcus: Maybe one day
Robyn: No Marcus now, i want to do it now
Marcus: *talks while trying not to laugh* Babe we just moved here ourselves how can we bring a child here when we dont even know where places are yet?
Robyn: Marcus i left my parents because they didnt listen to what i wanted
Marcus: I do listen babe but come on your 19 dont you wanna live a bit first
Robyn: Fine you know what? your right we should settle in first
Marcus: See now your making me feel guilty, look babe ive got to go out and see someone
Robyn: Who could you possibly need to see around here
Marcus: Just an old mate
Robyn: Are you sure?
Marcus: Just trust me yeah *kisses Robyn's head then leaves*
Robyn: Thats what i was affraid you would say

Scene 2 - At the Watkins family mansion

Tommy: Go away
Jamie-Lynn: Why what you hiding
Tommy: Nothing
Jamie-Lynn: Then you wont mind me looking then will you
Katherine: *Shouts up the stairs* What are you two fighting about now
Tommy: She wont get out of my room
Katherine: Jamie
Jamie-Lynn: His up to something mum
Katherine: Tommy what are you up to
Tommy: Nothing
Jamie-Lynn: Liar
Katherine: Just play nicely
Tommy: Play nicely? mum we aint kids you know
Katherine: Yeah well you behave like it

Josh comes in from work and sees Katherine is stressed

Josh:Whats wrong love?
Katherine:Kids have been fighting again
Josh:What about?
Katherine: Tommy wont let Jamie see his computer so Jamie thinks his hiding something
Josh: Ill go find out whats happening

Josh goes upstairs to talk to Tommy

Josh: Hey Tommy
Tommy: Hey dad
Josh:What you hiding from your sister
Tommy: I told her nothing
Josh:Well thats not what she thinks
Tommy:She can think what she wants
Josh:If your not going to show me ill go and get your sisters side
Tommy:Fine

Josh goes to speak to Jamie-Lynn

Josh:Jamie can i come in
Jamie-Lynn:If ya want
Josh:Your mum said you and your brother are fighting again
Jamie-Lynn:Yeah
Josh:Well dont Jamie, your getting older you dont need to keep fighting
Jamie-Lynn:Well whats he hiding then
Josh:I dont know what his hiding
Jamie-Lynn:Maybe not but we both know what your hiding dont we

Scene 3 - At the Champman house

Joe is on the phone to his mate from where he used to live before moving to Manchester last year, but Joe doesnt know Michelle and Thomas are listening.

Joe: Yeah well at least your dad wanted you, mine didnt.
Joe: Yeah yeah me and dad get on now but i just cant believe he didnt want me

We cut to outside Joe's room

Thomas:Is he ever going to let me forget that?
Michelle:His just hurt Tom
Thomas:Yeah but ive said sorry, ive tried to make it up to him but he wont let it go
Michelle:Its hard on him, i was talking to him the other day about it, he knows exactly what he wants from life
Thomas:Really?
Michelle:Yeah he wants to get good grades at school, he wants to go to college to learn ICT, get a stable job and start a family when he feels his ready
Thomas:Thats some plan
Michelle:Yeah he wants to do it different to how we did he doesnt want to let his kid be rejected like he was
Thomas:Well good on him i say
Michelle:Whats that supposed to mean
Thomas:Nothing
Michelle: Dont come that with me Tom you meant you regret having Joe so young didnt you?

Josh:*Grabs Jamie-Lynn* You promised we would never mention that
Jamie-Lynn:Yes i did but my silence comes at a price
Josh:Ive already given you £500 and bought you new clothes
Jamie-Lynn:Well now i think i need a bit more
Josh:This is wrong Jamie
Jamie-Lynn: So is what your doing, how do you think i feel to know that you....
Josh: *Stops Jamie-Lynn going any further* Alright alright what do you want
Jamie-Lynn: I want you to get mum to let me sleep with Joe
Josh: No way Jamie
Jamie-Lynn: Fine ill go tell mum about you and.....
Josh: *Cuts Jamie-Lynn off again* Fine ill talk to your mother
Jamie-Lynn:Thank you daddy *smiles*

Thomas:*Grabs Michelle and takes her in to their room* Course i dont mean that
Michelle: Dont lie to me Thomas, i know you, i know what you wanted
Thomas:Yeah okay i wanted you to get an abortion, i was a kid myself Mich, i didnt know anything about kids, didnt think i could cope but we did and look at Joe now he is a fantastic lad
Michelle:*smiles* Yeah he really is
Thomas:We have been lucky with him, most kids his age that have been in a stable relationship for as long as him and Jamie-Lynn have would have wanted to sleep with their girlfriends by now but Joe is different, he wants to wait and for that i am proud of him
Michelle:Yeah but its still out of order on Joe if you still wish we waited
Thomas:I dont
Michelle:You just said you did
Thomas:No i didnt

The arguing carries on but we leave their room and cut to Joe's room

Joe:Zack im sorry mate but ive got to go my parents are arguing
*Pause*
Joe:Yeah sure ill deffinately stay in touch mate
*pause*
Joe:Yeah i miss you to, i promise i will come and see you and the boys again this summer
*pause*
Sure dude see ya then mate, bye

Joe walks down the corridoor to his parents room and quietly opens the door

Thomas:Yeah alright i do sometimes wish we had waited to have joe
Joe:What did you say?
Michelle:Oh Joe
Joe:I hate you *walks out and slams the door*
Michelle:Joe wait
Thomas:Ill go after him
Michelle:No just leave him for a bit

Marcus has just left Robyn worrying he is up to no good again, as soon as he gets in the car he drives out of sight from Robyn and rings someone

Marcus:Hey Tony it's Marcus
*pause*
Marcus:Hows it going mate

Marcus:Yeah yeah dude just chil, Robyn is at home
*pause*
Marcus: Dont worry she knows nothing
*pause*
Marcus:Yeah im ready, kits in the boot, i will see you there in five mate bye *hangs up the phone*

Scene 1 - Watkins house

After being let down by his father yet again Joe goes to see his girlfriend Jamie-Lynn

Joe:*knocks at the door*
Tommy:*opens the door* Hey Joe
Joe:Hey Tommy is Jamie there?
Tommy:Yeah hang on *calls up the stairs* JAMIE
Jamie-Lynn:Shut up Tommy
Tommy:But....*gets interupted*
Jamie-Lynn:Just shut up okay Tommy im not in the mood
Tommy:Fine i will tell Joe to go then
Jamie-Lynn:Very funny Tommy we both know Joe isnt there
Tommy:Okay then he isnt there *Tommy goes back to Joe* Jamie doesnt believe your here your going to have to ring her Joe
Joe:Okay will do *rings Jamie* Hey babe im outside can we talk?
Jamie-Lynn:Your outside? hang on ill be right there love you *hangs up*
Joe:Shes coming
Tommy:Im suprised she believed you
Jamie-Lynn:*Comes running down stair and sees Joe at the door* OMG Tommy why didnt you tell me Joe was here *hits Tommy around the head*
Tommy:I did you didnt believe me
Jamie-Lynn:Well you should have made me believe you
Tommy: *rolls eyes* i do not understand women *walks away*
Jamie-Lynn:What you doing here
Joe:*looks sad* well......
Jamie-Lynn:*Drags Joe out side for a chat on the grass* So go on then whats up?

Ive decided to add a new character in, i was just going to leave it so we never met this man but decided against it, sorry to all those who are still confused with who is who.

Marcus phoned someone stating that Robyn wasnt with him and knew nothing about his plans for the day

Scene 2 - Unknown place
Marcus gets out of his car and walks down a dark ally he starts talking to a man standing outside of a posh looking building, he shows the man a card and the man lets him in. Once inside Marcus makes his way to an office with the name Jonathan Dexter on the door which he knocks on and enters.

Jonathan:Ah Marcus come on in
Marcus:We still doing this then
Jonathan:Yeah if your up for it
Marcus:Sure
Jonathan:You sure your girl knows nothing
Marcus:Totally clueless
Jonathan:Good, you know this was much easier when you was single
Marcus:Yeah well now Robyn isnt getting on with her family i can chuck her soon
Jonathan:Your evil Marcus you really are, i better keep an eye on you if you get much worse you might take over from me
Marcus:Im no where near as evil as you are, you killed a guy for beeping his horn when you pulled out in front of him, im no where near as bad as you
Jonathan:*laughs* Oh yeah i remember that, i dont even think his family know he is dead yet
Marcus:How do you do it, most of your other boys have all been caught but not you
Jonathan:I watched my old man be exactly like i am for most of my life it was so easy to pick up from him
Marcus:Ah yes the great Paul Dexter, we lost a fantasic gangster when he cooled it off, but at least we have you

Marcus and Jonathan remembered a crime that Jonathan committed and some how managed to get away with and then they left the club to do something that according to them needed doing

Scene 4 - In a carpark
Jonathan:Right which one
Marcus:That bright red one over there *points to a bright red car the far end of the car park*
Jonathan:Right you stay here ill drive down *walks up to the bright red car Marcus pointed out and breaks in to it, starts it up with a bit of wire and drives down to Marcus*
Marcus:Very good, not even a scratch on it
Jonathan:Leanrt that from my dad aswell
Marcus:Was there anything your dad didnt do
Jonathan:Yeah course
Marcus:Go on then name one
Jonathan:Well he didnt behave

Extra episode - Lucy's house - Septemember 11th 2006

Jamie-Lynn is at Lucy's and all over the news is coverage marking 5 years of the terror attacks on America and Jamie is almost in tears

Lucy: J hun you alright
Jamie-Lynn:Im fine
Lucy: Dont lie to me J i know this cant be easy for you
Jamie-Lynn: Its not but im trying, you would think i would be over this by now, its not as if i really knew him
Lucy: He was still your grandad though wasnt he
Jamie-Lynn: But i only met him a month before he died
Lucy: Hun its bound to be hard wether you knew him all your life or for 5 minuites
Jamie-Lynn:I bought him a birthday present ya know, i still have it, one day im going to New York and im going to leave it on his grave
Lucy: How come he wasnt bought home to be burried
Jamie-Lynn: He was born in New York but moved here when he met my nan but when they divorced he moved back there, he was only down here for a little while dad couldnt believe it when he saw him back here, but now he wont ever come back *cries a bit but tries to hide it*
Lucy: *hugs Jamie* If you want to talk about this hun i will
Jamie-Lynn: All i wanna do i go to bed and forget this *points at the tv*
Lucy: J please dont be like this

Jamie-Lynn says nothing and just leaves but she doesnt get far before she breaks down in tears, Lucy sees her and goes after her and Jamie lets Lucy comfort her and the episode finishes quietly with the girls hugging

Episode 2
Scene 5 - Watkins' house

Jonathan:You deffinately up for this Marcus because once we do it there is no going back
Marcus:Yep we are doing this
Jonathan:Good man
Marcus:*takes an unidentified object from the boot of the stolen car while Jonathan hides out of sight then goes and knocks at the Watkins' house*
Josh:*answers the door to Marcus* Hello *looks confused*
Marcus:Are you Josh Watkins
Josh:I am but what ever you want me to buy im not interested
Marcus:Please Mr Watkins if i could just come in for a minuite
Josh:Okay *lets Marcus in and starts to lead the way to the living room leaving Marcus to shut the door but he doesnt see Marcus remove the mysterious object

Marcus got Josh to let him into his home and failed to notice he had a mysterious object with him

Scene 6 - Watkins' house
As Josh leads Marcus to the living room Marcus takes out an object and as he gets closer he lifts it up and brings it crashing down on Josh's head, Josh falls the floor and heartlessly Marcus says "that will teach you to mess with Jonathan Dexter" and he leaves. When Marcus gets outside he tells Jonathan his done his job and the pair drive off in to the night with not a care in the world.

Later that night
Tommy comes home from a night out with his friends to see his dad lying motionless on the floor, he panics and rings an ambulance

Tommy:Yeah ambulance please my dad has been attacked
*pause*
Tommy:Yeah errrm 23 errrrm 23 Wilton Road please hurry

Tommy hangs up and tries to talk to Josh but gets no reply then he remembers he hasnt told his mum or Jamie-Lynn so he grabs his phone and looks for his sisters number but his hands are too shakey and he just breaks down in tears suddenly he hears sirens and runs outside to talk to them

Ambulance driver: Did you call us
Tommy:Yeah its my dad his been attacked and he wont wake up
Ambulance driver:Okay mate whats your name?
Tommy:My name urrrm Tommy
Ambulance driver: Okay Tommy im Lisa lets stay out here and let my collegue take a look at your dad
Tommy: Okay, do you need his name, ive seen casualty they usually need names on there
Ambulance driver: Yeah that will be really helpful
Tommy: Josh, Josh Watkins and his 40 years old
Ambulance driver: Did you hear that
Collegue: Sure did Lise
Ambulance driver: So you like hospital stuff then Tommy?
Tommy: Yeah i love it, i watch casualty all the time, i want to be a doctor or drive an ambulance when im old enough
Ambulance driver: Thats cool, hopefully i will be around when you start and help you out
Tommy: I have work experience at the hospital soon, i cant wait
Collegue: Right his stable we better take him in though
Ambulance driver: Okay, Tommy is there anyone you need to ring
Tommy: Yeah my sister and my mum doesnt know, i tried to ring before but i couldnt
Ambulance driver: Get your mobile and ill ring them when we get there
Tommy: Thanks *forces a smile*

They all get into the ambulance and drive off in hope that Josh will survive

Scene 1 - At a party

Jamie-Lynn is at a party with Joe trying to cheer him up after Thomas had upset him

Jamie-Lynn:Joe do you wanna go upstairs
Joe: Your parents will kill you
Jamie-Lynn: I got dad to get mum to let me sleep with you
Joe: Oh *pause* you know i think we should wait
Jamie-Lynn: Oh come on Joe please, we start college soon, do you know what happens if your a boy starting college without...well you know
Joe: Thats only in America, we live in Manchester
Jamie-Lynn: Please Joe you know this means so much to me
Joe: Okay

Jamie-Lynn and Joe go upstairs but as they are sorting them selves out Jamie-Lynn's mobile rings.

Jamie-Lynn: Hello
*Pause*
Jamie-Lynn: yeah
*pause*
Jamie-Lynn: *looks concearned*

Lisa: Tommy me and you best wait out here, your dad is in safe hands
Lisa:Can you show me the staff room ive always wanted to go in there the Casualty one is cool
Lisa:Alright but only for a minuite *leads Tommy inside the staffroom*
Tommy: Oh wow this is so cool
Doctor: *coughs to get Lisa's attention*
Lisa:Oh sorry Maggie i never saw you there
Maggie:What is going on
Lisa:Urrrrm im showing Tommy the staff room, i know we aren't supposed to but we dont have a call and his father is being treated but he cant go in there at the moment
Tommy:Sorry if im causing any trouble, its just i love hospitals, i watch casualty all the time
Maggie:I see, well just this once i will pretend i havent seen you in here
Tommy: Thank you Maggie
Lisa:TOMMY *gives him a looks as if to say dont call her that*
Tommy:What? i dont know her other name
Lisa:Oh right well this is Dr Maggie May

Scene 4 - at the Hospital
Tommy:Where is my family they are taking forever

Lisa:*leaves the room and goes to reception* Any news on Tommy's family
Receptionist:His mum is stuck in traffic nothing on his sister
Lisa:Thanks *walks away*

As Lisa walks away Katherine enters and walks up to reception introducing her self as Katherine Watkins the name rings alarms to Lisa who tells Katerine it was her who she had spoke toon the phone and she was with Tommy

Lisa: Ill leave you two in here for now *leaves*

As Katherine is asking about Josh Jamie-Lynn comes through the doors

Receptionist:A doctor will be with you shortly
Katherine:Thank you
Jamie-Lynn:I need a drink
Katherine:Okay love

As Jamie-Lynn goes off the doctor comes and talks to Katherine but Katherine asks him to wait for Jamie-Lynn to get back so they all go and wait for her with Tommy, finally after what seems like hours of waiting Jamie-Lynn walks through the door

Jamie-Lynn: Whats happened
Tommy:We dont kow yet the doctor was waiting for you
Jamie-Lynn: *sits down*
Doctor: Im Doctor Kennedy ive been working on your father/husband
Katherine:Oh no we arent married
Doctor:Oh i see, well we have him on machines but his not alive, im very sorry he wont make any prgress now and we advise machines are turned off as soon as your ready

Katherine walks out crying leavine Tommy and Jamie-Lynn crying and hugging as the scene ends quietly

Tommy: Yeah ill come with you, you can tell me what you have been hiding these past couple of years
Jamie-Lynn:What
Tommy: Oh come on it doesnt take a genius to work out you was hiding something for dad

Jamie-Lynn walks off not answering Tommy but he catches up with her and questions it stateing he has known something was happening with them for ages but had never asked as he feared it was something bad so Jamie-Lynn tells him and Tommy tells Jamie-Lynn they need to tell their mum so they go to do exactly that

Jamie-Lynn:Mum
Katherine:Yes darlin
Jamie-Lynn:Me and Tommy need to tell you something
Tommy:yeah its about dad
Katherine: I see
Jamie-Lynn: He has been having an affair for ages
Tommy:No just an affair though mum
Katherine: What then
Jamie-Lynn: He has another family which is why his dead, this woman is Jonathan Dexter's partner, he found out about them and got him killed
