So what is going on here, is he actually returning later this year or what? I'd assume so considering the magazines are talking about something to do with him and jane's affair being exposed to a shocked ian, who finds out after phil lets slip, where's it heading?

It would be better if he was involved in the storyline, but I don't know.

Yet another waste of the Telly Tax. They spent a fortune of the Licence Payers money bring this overated thug back once. What is the point. The money would have been better spent on decent scriptwriters

I don't think there are plans for his return, his year. Then again, is that just wishful thinking?! :hmm:

I'd much rather half the dead wood cast ran off with him.

I am tired of Ross Kemp returning and dissapearing again...to be honest, i don't want Grant to return...i think the show is fine coping without him.

:nono: the way things are going with eastenders at the moment with jake and johnny being killed and them writing out more people than they are replacing there wont be any eastenders worth watching i love eastenders but i think they are doing it all wrong at the moment you need gangstas in the programme to make it more exciting otherwise it would just plod along being the same old same old all the time there is more going on in emmerdale & coronation street at the moment and im sure the writers dont want the ratings going down anymore and as for pauline dying at christmas day well how unusual not always at christmas!

Confirmed By The BBC

Actor Ross Kemp, who recently returned to BBC One soap EastEnders, has signed up to star in the show for another three months from early next year.
Kemp, who plays hard man Grant Mitchell, returned with Steve McFadden who plays his brother Phil.

Their return boosted the soap's flagging ratings to 13 million viewers and a 52.9% audience share on Monday.

Kemp left the show in 1999 to join ITV, and had returned initially on a three-week deal.

The actors are the latest favourites to return to the soap, following Barbara Windsor and Leslie Grantham, whose character Den Watts was killed off in February.

TV ratings

McFadden made a fleeting return to the show in April after a year away and is now back for a longer run.

Mike Reid is lined up to come back as Frank Butcher in December.

EastEnders has been trailing ITV1's Coronation Street in the ratings, just ahead of Emmerdale.

In September, EastEnders drew its lowest audience in more than five years with 6.6 million viewers tuning in to one episode.

However, more than 14 million people watched the demise of Den Watts in February, in an episode marking the programme's 20th anniversary.
