With the new season just three weeks away, CBS has unveiled the details surrounding the CSI franchise premieres.

Monday, September 18 marks the beginning of CSI:Miami’s fifth season. In “Rio,” Horatio (David Caruso) and Delko (Adam Rodriguez) go to Brazil to avenge Marisol’s death. They are close to catching her killer, Riaz, when Horatio encounters family problems. In Rio, Horatio reunites with Yelina (Sofia Milos) and learns his brother Raymond is deep undercover in Riaz’s drug ring, while Horatio’s nephew Ray Jr. works as a drug mule for Riaz, smuggling drugs into the U.S. The stakes are high as Horatio must catch Riaz before he claims the life of another member of Horatio’s family. Joe Chappelle directed the episode written by series co-executive producer Sunil Nayar.

Scenes from this episode were shot on location in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Sofia Milos returns as Yelina Salas.

On Wednesday, September 20, CBS rolls out the first episode of CSI:NY’s third season. In “People With Money,” when a man is found dead on the Brooklyn Bridge and the only evidence is his marriage proposal displayed in lights on a Manhattan high-rise and a souvenir key chain as a murder weapon buried in his chest, the team comes together to find the person who may have brutally rejected his offer. Rob Bailey directed the episode written by executive producers Pam Veasey and Peter M. Lenkov.

Claire Forlani guest stars in a recurring role as Dr. Peyton Driscoll, a new medical examiner and love interest to Detective Mac Taylor. Emmanuelle Vaugier (“Two and a Half Men”) guest stars in a recurring role as CSI Detective Jennifer Angell. Michael Nouri (“The O.C.,” “Flashdance”) guest stars as Denney Lancaster, the father of the woman whose boyfriend was found dead on the Brooklyn Bridge.

Last season concluded with Flack suffering severe injuries when a bomb detonated inside a building and Stella fighting to regain herself after a brutal attack by her boyfriend. The new season finds Flack back on the job after slowly recovering from his injuries and Mac find companionship in Dr. Driscoll, creating a challenge as he tries to manage the intersection of his professional and personal lives.

Stella and Lindsey investigate the death of a young man, whose murder was witnessed by bungee jumpers who were illegally plunging off the Brooklyn Bridge.

Hawkes and Danny investigate the murder of a New York heiress which leads them to Manhattan’s hippest clubs, where the young, wealthy and bored find a new form of entertainment: pitting their bodyguards against one another and betting on who will win.

Scenes from this episode were filmed on location in New York.

On Thursday, September 21, CSI kicks off its seventh season in the first of two installments. In “Built to Kill, Part One,” when an aspiring dancer is murdered backstage during Cirque du Soleil’s KA show, the CSIs investigate what goes on behind-the-scenes to uncover the truth. Kenneth Fink directed the episode from a story by Sarah Goldfinger and a teleplay by David Rambo and executive producer Naren Shankar.

The CSIs investigate Cirque du Soleil behind-the-scenes to determine what may have caused the young dancer’s untimely death. Meanwhile, after Catherine and Nick visit a nightclub where John Mayer performs, Catherine finds herself in jeopardy and must act as her own CSI in order to determine who may be targeting her and her family.

Grissom is perplexed after receiving an uncanny miniature replica of the crime scene he is working.

Grammy winning recording artist John Mayer makes a cameo appearance, performing two new songs from his third studio album, Continuum. Mayer performs his current single, “Waiting on the World to Change” and plays “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” for Catherine and Nick at a nightclub.

Danny Bonaduce (“The Partridge Family”) guest stars as Izzy, an ex-rocker who ends up dead

Just a shame its all in vain though really isn't it - what with Ray already being dead again....it will be interesting to see the interaction with H and Yelena, what with their past history, and since Ray and Yelena and H and Marisols wedding etc. This season hasn't even finished here yet and I'm already excited about the next one!! Really looking forward to New York Season 3 too, though am I bad - Vegas has started making its way down my list - NY is now at top, then Vegas then Miami....

NY and Miami are similar because the are cop led, which I like were vegas is more about the science but I still love watching all three. It will be interesting to see marisol on the screen over here and to see what all the hype was about as she was not all that popular in america. NY has vastley improved in season 2 compared to S1 so I am really looking forward to S3

Marisol is verrry pretty - really nice too (a bit like Delko I suppose) but they don't look similar at all, so I'm not sure about the casting they did.

Sounds awful, but H is a bit like Gil to me - no woman suits him really (or man just in case anyone thought it :rotfl: )

I blame the writers. I am addicted to american dramas but it doesn't matter whether its csi, without a trace or 24. All the lead men in these shows are seen as engima characters and no women on earth are worthy of their affection, yet they are all handsome men in their own way and every women's dream.

You are so right there Kath - its a bit like no woman is good enough for your son - and its the same in their cases, although I dont mind Mac getting together with someone as he lost his wife in the Twin Towers attacks, and although we didn't see them together, we are made aware of how much pain he felt losing her. It will be very strange to see him with someone else though in the next series (Claire Forlani - with the opening scene of them waking up in bed together! )

That's a strange one for fans to accept Mac having a love interest and I do apologise for going of topic but if you look at the shipper sites for all three csi they have had the leading csi pairing up with one of their subordinates, but this is a new character and it will be interesting to see how she is recieved. As you say its good that Mac has found a new love after his wife was killed in 9/11 but H and Gill have never had a concrete love interest on screen. so it will be interesting to see how Peyton Driscoll is recieved

The one thing I find strange is that apparently, they had a bit of a thing together before, can't remember how (will have to find the snippet i found) but you'd think that it would take this long for Mac to allow this to happen especially as its only the 5th anniversary this year and hes never been one to talk that much about what happened etc.

I can see everyone pairing him up with Stella and the obvious Gil and Sara, but who would they be pairing H up with now?? Calleigh??

Oh and apparently, Hawkes is going to be clean shaven in Series 3 of New York - no goatee, which I'm not to sure about....

I don't know I think it would have been more acceptable if she had been in season 2 and there had been some interaction. I thought that maybe Lindsey would have become involved with him. As with Miami the obvious choice for H is Calleigh but they need to build the storylines around them getting together not just force it on the viewers.

Apparently there is going to be lots of flirtation between Danny and Lindsey this season too  so I may have to turn away during those scenes!!

They shouldn't bow to all this shipping lark - some of them, just aren't meant to have an on screen partner in that sense in this kind of show. (On the very plus side, I've just read that Eddie Cahill and Carmine Giovanizzi are both single and are currently in New York filming Season 3 - heres hoping they are still there in 7 weeks :D  :rotfl: )

Get yourself in there doll and if you see Anthony La Palgia from without a trace stick him in your suitcase for me. the shipping thing is definatley an american thing (sorry americans)

I'll hunt him down, kidnap him and bring him back with me (if I come back if I find Eddie or Carmine anyway!! :rotfl: )

I think we aren't going to see too much of the Gil/Sara thing this season to that extent (or hope not anyway) because of the back seat the WP is going to be taking - which is definitely a good thing.

Why do the American's insist on all this shipping lark though?! (Apologies Americans, but you know you do it far too much! :D ) Is there something missing that means they HAVE to pair everyone up with someone?!
